I just watched a vlog from couple who travels as a job. They returned from Asia to US and are now in "quarantine" for two weeks. And they just casually said they were grocery shopping in a small store nearby.
I wish I didn't know that! 🤨

I have a friend that is high risk, but doesn't think she will catch it. She wouldn't cancel dinner out on her Birthday, she said " it's my Birthday and I want to go to X restaurant" so she did, we cancelled going along. She has been going somewhere everyday. and I called her a few hours before the shelter in place order took affect and she was at Petsnart, Since it's a city wide order, she said she'll drive to a store in the country to get out each day... jeeepers! and she and her husband are high risk. I just don't understand!

I’m seriously pissed at some of my friends. Some refuse to stay home. A couple families have packed up to go to FL. They are claiming they “need” to quarantine at the beach in order to keep their kids from hopping in their cars to visit their friends. Like, aren’t you people the grownups? Take their keys and make them sit their asses at home like everyone else! I have several friends who have taken to posting OLD political fuckery (singular quotes taken way out of context and saying they are directly related to what’s happening in Washington right now). And then there are my friends who believe every nonsense pseudoscience claim or snake oil claim or woo-woo magical cure. I just can’t with these assholes anymore. I’ve gone on a hiding people rampage. I posted about this in another thread, but I think Florida is likely to end up *the* hot spot nationally because of so much travel, so many elderly people, and so little effort to social distance. The fallout from the spring breakers is coming. I think anyone purposely aiming themselves towards that state right now is nuts. Totally agree with you! I think I also posted something similar in another thread. I think FL is going to explode with Covid and it is going to be an absolute shit show down there. Because the elderly won’t/cannot get to medical facilities. The kids still won’t care, even as their peers are dying, and based on my own experience with healthcare in fl, their healthcare system and doctors are just the worst. No fucking way would I purposefully take my family down there in the middle of all of this. The thought of getting some incompetent doctor for any other reason is scary enough. But to need one of them to effectively treat me and my family should we get sick with this? No thanks. Also, there is a GOOD chunk of people who are firmly in the “God will protect us” mindset down there, and will poo-poo medical related things. It’s insane.

And a childhood friend is going about her life as normal because she "gave it to God" and has faith that whatever happens to her is his will. She clearly didn't get the memo that's it's not just about her That doesn’t matter that it’s not about her, whatever happens to anyone else because of her is also ‘god’s will’. And you know, you can’t mess with ‘god’s will’ Appropriate bible verses be damned ill cherry pick my own So they’ll ignore things like: Philippians 2:4 Or 1 Peter 5:5 Or Galatians 6:2 In favor of verses that support THEIR Goal

Today I got on my bike to ride for 45 mins. The kids were in the yard playing so I just did laps around my neighborhood. So every 3 minutes I was able to circle back and keep my eye on my kids. I was so proud of my kids! The neighbor kid and his little brother came outside. Our kids sat across from each other and shout-talked across the yards at each other. They didn’t go anywhere near each other. My 2nd oldest forgot the rule and tried to run over there but my oldest daughter reminded him “social distancing” and prevented him from going over. Even our 3 year old knew not to play with the other kids. Another mom was walking with her kids and their puppy. They all kept their distances from me and from my kids in the yard. A little boy came riding by on his bike. He stopped for a few moments on the opposite side of the street and shouted “hi” and “what are you doing?” At my kids and the neighbor kids. That little guy is like 6. The 55+ dog walking set decided to congregate in a clump in my neighbors driveway. For a half an hour. Very close to each other. Why the hell is my 3 year old better at social distancing than a bunch of elderly adults?

Someone I know with a young child plans to pick up an alcoholic relative today who has been basically living on the street.

I fear it's slowly going to spread out like tentacles if that makes sense. Out of state college students returning home instead of dorms. Having the same attitude and being around people who are vulnerable.
