Baby wipes if they are available (that’s what our family has been using for a few years now)
Arrange to take a shower during #1 time
Those are my tips, what are yours?

I bought a roll of 100 Chux wipes which will be used if we run out. We do have plenty so it probably won't happen. Will buy a nappy bucket and wash like I did when dd was young. There is only 2 of us and we are both prepared to do it.

Whatever you use, just be sure not to flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilet. “Flushable” wipes cause a lot of sewer problems.

Soap and water.
In the old days people used corn cobs. Not real keen on trying that.

Make sure you aren’t flushing any of these things.

There is only 2 of us and we are both prepared to do it. Last time I went shopping I bought a three pack of Chux Kitchen Wonder Cloths "now with germ protection" in different colours, to use as kitchen sponges. I told DSO that if worst comes to worst I will buy another pack and we can all have our own colour coded wash cloths. I like your idea of the 100 pack of Chux wipes, then wash in a nappy bucket. But I'm thinking each person would need to wash their own.

Are chux washable? I thought they were disposable, hence "chuck" them out...

Are chux washable? I thought they were disposable, hence "chuck" them out... It depends on how much of a tight arse you are! The Chux cloths are washable. The wipes that Allie is talking about are designed to be thrown out but I usually wash them and reuse them until they start looking really ratty.

If things got desperate we’d use flannel “family cloth” wipes.
6” squares of fabric and a small covered trash can to put the used ones in for washing.

We have a bidet - one of the benefits of having bought a house formerly owned by an Italian family with a granny suite in the basement.
That being said, our toilet paper shortage ended a while ago.

(Sticks fingers in ears) LA LA LA I CAN’T HEAR YOU!!! Seriously, I’m not even going to consider running out. Again, I am SO very glad that I’ve always stocked up all along any time I could get a good deal and had a decent stockpile before any of this happened. I’d make a run to a gas station before doing some of the things posted here! Who knew toilet paper would become the currency of the 21st century?

I bought a squirt bottle from Amazon like they give moms after giving birth. I use that for pee and save the tp for the other!

I grew up in a 3rd world country. Everyone living in poverty would cut old clothes into small squares and use that.
Reminds me of a time, my parents took us down there for a visit after living in Canada for a decade. We were visiting a family home that still used an outhouse and cut clothing. My dad promptly went to the store and bought a pack telling them that he had more than his share of using squares.
We are incredibly spoiled in North America.

My mother asked us what will we do if we run out of TP and my husband replied Seashells. She was mortified. He was so proud of himself.

From what I'm seeing, hopefully none of these alternatives will be necessary. We made a quick trip to Wegmans Sunday morning and they had a section of their store brand toilet paper with a limit of one per customer.

I have a pile of socks without matches. I suppose those could be used but I don’t anticipate things coming to that.
