How is everyone??!! Last wk was stressful, and long, and by this time I had already had a glass of wine. This wk was much better. Still a lot of uncertainties.
So first..let's share something about ourselves. I know we sort of know each other on here, but let's reintroduce ourselves.
I'm 56 yrs old. I work full time as a Physical therapist assistant at a medical center. I have been married for 36 yrs. My dh is a logger. We live in northern MN. I have 2 dd's. Ages 24 and 27. One lives in the twin cities and is a paralegal/lawyer in the making, and one lives in a nearby town and is a librarian and runs the childrens program there. we are all still working, which I am thankful for every day.

Hello! Geez just you and me so far. I may have to scoot out quickly, I'm waiting on an order from Target that I just ordered at 6:19 and I'm hoping that I can pick it up before they close tonight if it is processed. It's Easter candy for my DD26; I'm heading over to her place tomorrow to drop it off and not see her . I called Target and they said it will be a close call whether the order is filled tonight or tomorrow (they close at 9). My fault for waiting until the last minute.

I had a video conference with the other department chairs for 2 hours and 45 minutes and NOTHING was decided.
Needless to say, I've started drinking

I'll introduce myself. I don't have a drink yet, LOL.
I'm 52. I work as a school-based speech-language pathologist. I'm adapting to this remote learning thing and I am not particularly enjoying it. I'm finding it to be more work than I'm used to (and I'm always working...). I live in the Chicago suburbs. I have a husband and two daughters. My oldest just turned 24 this week, and my baby will turn 20 in two weeks. They're both home right now because their plans have been scuttled. Fun fact-- my older dd will graduate with her MA next month-- she'll be a SLP just like me.

Partaaaaayyyy! Good evening everyone. I have a splitting headache but didn't want to be left out LOL. I really won't be partying cuz of this dang head, will need to hit the sack soon.
Intro: I'm Jayne, 62 and am single. I live with my sister and our two schnauzers. I work in third party collections for the state utility company and currently work from home. Bummed about the virus since I feel like I'm in limbo. I was going to have bariatric sleeve surgery this month and a big bathroom remodel and it's all on hold. Boo hiss. But I and my family are still living so that's something.

HI!! I am Chris...61, retired school teacher (retired in 2017 after 36 years of teaching special education). I am a scrapbooker and card maker. No kids but I have 3 nieces and 2 nephews plus a niece who died in 1988 at 30 months old. She was severely impaired due to a lack of oxygen at birth (yes there was a malpractice suit).
My dad died on 1/9/2020 and I miss him more every day. I believe that God works in mysterious ways because if he was dying now of kidney cancer and had to be alone in the hospital, it would have torn all of us up and I think he would have died within a day instead of a week after going into the hospital. I cannot even imagine the grief some are going through during this virus crisis and not being able to be with their loved ones who are dying. He was 83 and was a great man, educator, and father. I thank my lucky stars everyday for my parents.

I love schnauzers! We had one when I was in high school.
I mixed a cream soda and vanilla moonshine. I put very little alcohol in it so all I am tasting is cream soda. We got the moonshine when were in TN this past summer. I had forgotten we had it.
My daughter is having a Zoom cocktail party with friends. She is drinking ginger ale with blackberry moonshine.

I'm here. Started drinking at a Zoom happy hour at 6pm so after that, and the $5 bottle of champagne a local restaurant threw in with our take out meal, I regret to say I'm shitfaced. Someone remind me to take Tylenol before bed, because I sure as hell won't remember.
I'm 61, at home with DH and our 20 year old who is a sophomore at a university in New England. I've been telling everyone that our lives haven't changed all that much, because we are three introverts sharing a house.

Sorry - I'm back, drink in hand. Jo, 50, married, blah, blah.
I've been keeping sane by going out for late night walks with my sons. Very late. Last night it was 1:30.

I’m 31 years old born and raised in San Diego, and have been married for 8 years. I just poured myself a glass of rosé and am watching Hart of Dixie. I am currently furloughed because of the coronavirus but when I go back to work I’ll be working in commercial and residential real estate development. No children. My husband works in the automotive industry as a catalog manager for a major parts manufacturer.
We have been enjoying quarantine for the most part. We started rewatching Mad Men. The thing I miss most about my life pre-quarantine is my weekends. I really miss Sunday brunch with my girlfriends. And being able to go running on the beach! My husband and I especially loved going to a small coffee shop in La Jolla early in the morning and watching the fog lift over the water as the sun rose.

I am sorry for your loss. My dad was kind of the opposite of your dad. You were lucky. Cindy

My dh works for an automotive supplier, for a bunch of the major automakers, and they do aftermarket, too. Right now he still has a job but barely. He is a manager, but he manages warehouse operations. That means that there is pretty much nothing to do, so he's on reduced salary. They are supposed to start shipping masks soon (made by a sister company).

Actually my side of the family is heavy in law enforcement and teachers. So..the paralegal is close to that, and the librarian close to a teacher.
