My sister asked me tonight if I knew of any online groups for card makers. She is in one on Facebook, but is looking for additional sources. After 16 years, this is my home away from home and I'd rather not share it! I haven't done any paper crafting (scrapbooks or cards) in at least 10 years so am really out of touch. Thank you if you can point me in the right direction!

Have her search stampin up on facebook. I think there are some there...also splitcoaststampers.com might also have a 'group' for making cards.

I follow several groups on Facebook. She should look up her favorite companies and find their follower pages.

What kind of cards does she like making? If she is into OR WANTS to get into popup and interactive cards, I've got the place for her!

She is just getting into these so I'm sure she would be interested. I totally understand that you'd like to keep this YOUR special place! If your sister wants to contact me by email to ask more questions, pea mail me. I'm a card making nut, made my first cards at 14 when I had to buy white construction paper as my card bases! Made cards off and on since then in one form or another. I have a lot of dies, starting with QuicKutz first year! I also have LOTS of Karen Burniston, and a fair amount of stamps and hope to make more since I've officially partly retired this month. I can also share my easy directions to make a shadow box card without a die, well, just ONE for the window! I have 3D and interactive cards from other companies but I "specialize" in Karen!
Karen Burniston used to design for Sizzix and Elizabeth Craft, she opened her own die company about 3 years ago. She has blown all of her old designs OUT OF THE WATER since she is able to do what she AND her customers want her to do!
Karen and her Design Team have challenges ALL the time. This blog has links to videos showing how to use the dies to make the cards. She is a great teacher, some companies make popup or interactive dies and leave YOU to figure it out! Not Karen, there are directions for the dies ON the package, more involved printable directions on her website and videos on YouTube SHOWING you how to do them. The blog has links to videos and shows all the design team's version of cards.
This FaceBook page is where Karen and her designers post cards. There is a link on there for Karen's Popup Peeps, it is a closed FB group where the general public ALSO posts our versions of Karen's cards. If you have ANY questions, ask there (after you ask to join) and just about any time, day or night, there will be SOMEONE there to help you!
LSS and other places carry some of Karen's dies, here is a link to her website store and it has all the links to her blog and Facebook also.

Gina does regular videos of techniques. She does have a store in Greendale, WI. It is a very cute, charming store.

You Tube is a great resource too. There are several card makers out there to follow:
Jennifer McGuire Kristen Werner (K Werner Designs) Lawn Fawn (these are more cutesy, but she has a lot of interactive dies that are great)
