Not trying to beat a dead horse...I love pink, and I use it a lot. But geeeeezzzz with so many colllections using it as a main color!!! I was just watching a sb video and the background paper she chose had pink stars among other colors. It made me wish the pink stars were orange, since that was one of the main colors in the photo she's using. (Not a lick of pink in the photo, though😜).
So if you could choose the color that replaced all the pink, what would it be? Mine would obviously be orange, lol! Or a sunny golden yellow. Those colors look great with blue skies, green trees, grass, plants, and gorgeous with beach/lake/water/pool pictures. (Tangent- another color pet peeve of mine is how much blue is in the majority of summer collections. I want the papers to contrast with my summery photos so they pop off the page, not blend in! ) For the record, I also love the crap out of most shades of blue, just find it difficult to work with a lot of my pictures. Except for a nice navy...not black navy, but....
Yup. I'm rambling. I'm in a house with two mostly grown sons and a husband....I need some female crafty talk! 😆

I have 3 boys so I would prefer less pink, too. But, I think I’m the opposite, I love blue and orange is probably my least favorite color. I love all shades of blue, lots of shades of green and yellow, too.

There is NO such thing as too much pink! The only substitutes for me would be some shade of purple or turquoise. I'm not a fan of orange or yellow unless we are talking sunrises, sunsets or autumn leaves!

A nice shade of yellow could replace pink for me.

I would have to say either chocolate brown or leafy green. I'd settle for navy blue. My favorite color is purple and while I would love more purple options, it isn't a color I would choose for most of my scrapping needs. Now cardmaking, yes purple would be really great for that.
I primarily scrap cat and beach/vacation photos, so nature colors work great for a lot of my pages. I have been working on an album of my brother's baby & toddler pics, so navy blue has been a big help there.

I scrapbook boys so blues and greens are my favorite. I'm pretty good at sneaking pink onto a boy page but I hate that every collection is pink.
I love purple but I try to make my papers match/harmonize with my photos and I have a hard time getting purple to do that.
While we are on color topics, I do not like that dull mustard yellow so many collections are using right now. I like yellow but that color is just ugly.

I hate the color pink, but I'm learning slowly to suck it up and include bits and pieces (primarily because it's my daughter's favorite color but also if I like 90% of something, like a striped pattern that includes a pink stripe, if I can't cut it out to make the remainder usable then I'll use the whole thing) but I'd replace it with literally anything. I'm happy that navy is becoming more and more prevalent and that purple is as well, but it drives me bat shit crazy that purple is almost never featured on its own...almost every sheet that includes purple also has pink on it in a way that makes it impossible to avoid. All that being said, if I don't know what the pattern is or what other colors are included, I couldn't begin to say what color would pair well instead of simply adding more pink.

I like pink but I need it to be balanced with other colors.
I do really like the color yellow — like a dandelion or egg yellow.

I have a granddaughter and pink has always been my favorite color. I also adore lime green, and tropical colors, as well as cranberry/maroon colors.

Anything but yellow or orange. I really hate that Ali designs so many of her collections with thoss colors featured predominantly.
I love most of the color palettes Kelly Purkey used.

Blues, but earthy toned down blues. Denim, slate, cloudy day blues. There was a thread not long ago where we were imagining a line like HS Wolfpack but for the rocky coastline. Those are the blues I want.
There was PF Indigo Hills 2 (which still had a lot of pink,) and there was PP Indigo and Ivy. But I bought those already and now I want more.

I’m wondering if it would make sense to layer ink blending or some other medium over the top of all these pink papers to turn them into something more usable. I guess it would end up being weird with some patterns, but for tone on tone prints maybe a bit of blue or yellow could transform these into something closer to what you want/need, if you like orange or purple or red shades. I mean, IDK I’ve never tried it, but it might be worth a shot... especially if the paper is perfect otherwise.

I don’t mind pink but I’ve been thinking lately as I’ve been looking through my supplies that there never seems to be enough navy. I love it with red, gray, yellow, kelly green, crisp white, and so much more. I’d also love to see more jade green. It’s gorgeous.

I also like the right shade of pink, but if I were choosing a colour to replace it I'd go with a yellow that leant slightly towards the mustard/jewel tones.

But I usually just flip them over and use the white on the other side. It's rare that I'll end up with a two sided paper that I don't like either side of, but it has happened (like at a tag sale where there are a bunch of sheets bundled together.) I like the idea of painting paper, but I have a hard time dealing with it when it curls. I'm not much of a stamper. What kind of ink would you recommend? Do you think the paper would curl much?

It made me wish the pink stars were orange, since that was one of the main colors in the photo she's using. One of the joys of digital scrapbooking is that I would have been able to change the pink stars to orange, or any other colour, in a matter of seconds. I probably change the colour of paper or elements or something on most of my layouts, even if it's just one itty bitty flower.

I've never chosen colors specific to the gender of the person I'm scrapping (I don't see a point to assigning colors to gender in any situation) but I really don't like pink! I've never been a huge fan of that color. I'd love to see more jewel tones. I only use some pink if it'll complement something in the photo I'm using.

I'd assume that the paper would warp somewhat if you used a wet paint/medium, although a thin wash of gesso over it first might help, but you would probably lose more of the pattern in the process. I'm not a fan of warped or curling paper either. I know some people don't care since it tends to flatten in the album, or some people just back with cardstock to stabilize it. I would try using distress or distress oxide ink (or a similar ink that can be used for blending - scrapbook dot com hybrid inks would work, I think, and some other inks like Catherine Pooler's) and blend it into the paper with a blending brush or foam tool. You can build up color gradually - I think it would work more like tinting over the top of the existing color rather than completely covering it. I haven't tried it though! Maybe I should do an experiment on some pink scraps.

I subscribed to hip kit for awhile but gave up after 4 kits because -pink pink pink I too have grown boys so no need for any pink except for the occasional time I might scrap garden pics

Blues, but earthy toned down blues. Denim, slate, cloudy day blues. Now that my daughter is getting older I find those denim/slate type blues go with so many of our pictures. But I still love pink, especially florals so I am the one buying it. My brothers and I all had girls (we finally got a boy when my oldest niece got married) so I still have a lot of use for pink.

I would love if a true primary red replaced all pink.
I'm very, very, very tired of pink. I don't even consider papers with pink anymore, because i have a whole little stack of pink dominated papers that just irritate me.

Seems to me that blue sky goes with EVERYTHING! So if we are choosing a base colour, let it be blue. It can be anywhere from baby blue to dark slate, any of which can be seen in the sky at any time.
Then you can choose whatever colour you like to go with it: blend colours like purples and pinks like sunset; teals and greens like water, or leafy or grass greens. If you want to contrast, bring on the oranges, golds, and reds. Both black and white go well with any shade of blue.

I'm a pink fan but it can get annoying that it's everywhere. I'd love to see more red in collections that aren't Christmas. I love red, wear it a lot, my car is red, and my bf's son is 4 and loves all things Spider Man so I have a lot of pictures these days where he's in Spider Man clothing. More red and blue would be very helpful. I'd also love to see more navy and yellow.

I like pink, but I agree that is gets overdone. As far as a "replacement" color, I would love more yellow! I like a more lemony yellow as opposed to darker dandelion type yellow. As for the blues...I agree Navy is always usable! But, what I want more of is a Royal Blue. True Blue type color. You don't see that much. It seems the blues are always a little too dark, or grey, or yellowish. But, maybe I'm just not looking the the right place?!
