There are tons of distilleries that have switched to bottling sanitizer so weve been seeing them sanitizer pop up in things like bourbon bottles. There is a new rum distillery in Columbus that hadn't even opened yet so they switched to sanitizer. They ran out of rum bottles but they were able to source honeybears. I'm hoping we will eventually be able to find the gallon at costco again so I can refill. Have you seen any interesting packaging? If you're near Columbus and need it they are somewhere not terribly far from children's. I think he said $7.99 a bottle with a limit of 10.

Very cute! We have a distillery near us doing that, but they are using the bottles they have on hand. I like the bear ones better.

That is so cute! I want to make my own hand sanitizer just so I can put it in a honey bear.

$7.99 a bottle That’s a steal around here in Seattle. When NY started going under I was able to find some 2oz bottles at our local hardware store. They were $5 each And yes, price gouging stinks. That said, I’ve YET to find ANY at regular stores. What price should a bottle cost? Also, I should add that I’d expect the price to be much higher at a local distillery than at a factory that always produces the stuff. KWIM? To the OP, I want one. It’s so cute!

I think I was just surprised to find the maker setting the price so high, the only place I’ve seen price gouging is on places like Amazon and eBay. That being said, I haven’t been in a store in over 5 or 6 weeks and that’s when we purchased our sanitizer and there has been none available since to see if prices are going up in normal retail stores or not. Its wonderful that they and other distilleries are doing it, the need is so great. And since they had to retrofit and are losing profits I can see them pricing it higher than usual. It’s just surprising to me that it’s that much higher. The bottles are awesome!

It's unclear what the size of that bear is, but I can practically guarantee it's less than $2.50 an ounce, which is what I paid to The Body Shop as retail price on their 2 ounce hand gel.

We didn’t either but I thought they were like $2.99 or $3.99 for larger than that size. I think the 32 oz we bought were $8 or $9 dollars at the beginning of this mess. I’ll check my receipts in a bit. Yes, I still have them...I’m a scrapper

We've got a distillery around here selling them for $30 a half gallon. you can also donate a gallon to first responders.
ETA, it's a half gallon, for some reason I thought it was a full gallon.

I used to pay $1.29 for an 8 oz bottle of sanitizer gel at Aldi but now I’m happy to pay $7.99 for the distillery sanitizer. There’s surely a cost to switch your production to a completely different product. Gouging to me is the idiots who bought thousands of bottles and want to mark it up 1000%

There is a distillery near me that is making and giving away 32 oz bottles of "hand sanitizer" nearly every day. I have yet to stop by and get some...I hear the line of cars for the drive-thru give-a-ways are realllllllly long and that is is more "watery" than commercial hand sanitizer, but hey! its free! and you could mix up with aloe gel to thicken it up.

The watery stuff is better in a small spray bottle. I predict those will be the next items you can’t find!

I have no idea what it retailed for at 'regular' stores but I have a couple of 2 oz bottles I picked up (last year) at Dollar Tree. One is Purell and one store brand. They had larger bottle also but I wanted small ones at the time. Doubt they have any now.

This is the water stuff which is actually perfect, we have some sprayers to refill.
This distillery had never opened so they had to hire staff and everything to make it from what I understand. I'm not sure what pricing should be right now but we picked up 10 and they were all claimed at cost, happily within about 10 minutes on facebook.

I’m very impressed with my memory But I still think it’s great they’re making this, it’s very much needed and the bottle is adorable! Wasn’t it originally for honey?

I can't find aloe vera gel or alcohol anywhere to make my own! I want some for the car. At home I can just use soap and water.

Just checked my app/receipt and Members Mark (Sam's Club) 67.6oz sanitizer was $6.98 in early March. Of course you can't get your hands on any now.
I like this brand because it doesn't smell weird, it just smells like rubbing alcohol. Many other brands smell awful to me.

If you dilute it with aloe, it will no longer be suffiently strong to be effective, so it's better to use it as-is. If a mister doesn't work, you can try a soap foamer. We had a BBW soap dispenser that was almost empty that we rinsed out to use for sanitizer. It didn't foam nicely like the soap, but it was at least a way to control the amount dispensed.
