She is totally ridiculous but I don't think her whiteness has anything to do with it, though she does seem very entitled.
There have been lots of incidents (at least one which ended in the death of a security guard) and they were of a variety of races.
There are plenty of people of all races who wear and don't wear masks..and some like her who take it to the next level.

I don’t think her video garnered the reaction she hoped it would. The HIPAA point she was making is that per HIPAA, they can’t require her to disclose her condition. She didn’t say she couldn’t tell them. She said they couldn’t ask. (ETA I realize she’s still wrong and cited the wrong protection but she never said she wasn’t allowed to tell.)
That being said, I’m 99.9% sure her condition is all in her head and she’s just an entitled psycho.
The credit card thing was ridiculous too. Has she never given her card to a restaurant waiter who disappeared with it for a few minutes and then brought it back? And if she is that paranoid all the time, she’d already be prepared to pay in cash. She was just trying to make a statement. And it backfired. Poor Karen.

There are lots of stupid people in the world. I’m a little surprised at how many though...

I was just trying to say that she wasn’t claiming she wasn’t allowed to tell, which the OP alleged. “Karen” is still wrong but we need to critique what she actually said. I also don’t think her race had anything overtly to do with it. She is white and everyone she interacted with is white. It stands to reason that as an upper class white woman, she’s had plenty of opportunity to cultivate her sense of entitlement and privilege, but I don’t think race was a factor in this particular interaction.

As it is very likely her sense of entitlement and privilege which causes her to act this way, and her experience as a white woman is such a large part of that, I think it was the original factor. Does that make sense? Not that she was being racist, but that race played a huge part because it is likely the why behind why she is the way she is.

This is bullshit. I am seeing people all over my city's social media page claim that they can't be forced to wear a mask if they have a medical condition and HIPAA prevents anyone from asking you about your medical condition. These assholes think they've found a clever work around.
Which is true. However, the right to refuse service also remains in effect, so....

This is how many of these brave Patriots are trying to sneak across the beaches of Normandy, I mean buy things like good little consumers, and not wear a mask while doing it.

No shirt, no shoes, no mask, no service. Sorry Shelly. that's what I've been saying. one piece of attire too far brings out the "revolutionists".

She doesn't want to wear a mask. Go to a different store lady. I wish mask wearing was universal and not store by store... if you can't wear a mask, order online or call the store and let them shop for you.

Now masks are "muzzles". But liberals are the "snowflakes" What I get out of that is she thinks it’s fine the slaves were muzzled. But not her. Oh, and she’s a selfish idiot, but I think that’s a given. eta: And it’s sort of ironic that dogs wear masks to protect people, and she’s okay with that. But she won’t wear a mask to protect other people.

🙄 can’t say I’m surprised about her behavior. But really if it bothers you that much order it online and have it delivered or do curbside pickup. Tons of stores offer lots of options.

My favorite thing about this is that she’s buying private things that an employee can’t get for her, because PRIVACY, but she’s gonna have no issue having an employee at the checkout stand scan her private things so she can pay.

Just gotta ask... why is it important that she's "white" as it says in the title of this post?
There are assholes and dumbasses of all races.
And, before you ask... yes, I would ask why a race is mentioned at all in a title unless it's important to the post. As far as I can see, her race has nothing to do with her being a total idiot.

To be fair, a lot of grocery stores have self checkout now which does eliminate some embarrassment when buying certain things.

what medical condition would require you to NOT wear a mask? just curious. There was a guy on the local news who claims a medical condition where he needs to see his feet or he could stumble and fall. It wasn't clear if it was some sort of balance issue or muscular/lifting his feet. DH and I looked at each other and burst out laughing because there is no way the dude in question has seen his feet in several years. IMHO, if you are that unbalanced, you are a danger to every other person in the store and should take up the offer of curbside shopping. Or maybe he needs a different type of mask because ours make no difference in our ability to see our feet. I can’t stop laugh at this. The mask goes on your MOUTH not your eyes. 🤣

she went in there itching for a fight - that is why she chose to film it.
the staff was amazing - both of them. gotta love the dancing, cart cleaning bartender who's just happy to have a job, even dealing with people like *shelley* every day. ugh.
