I use my phone when out and about or in bed etc. I have all the social media apps, email, banking etc. But I far prefer to use my laptop whenever possible. Or even my iPad over my phone. I hate trying to type on my phone, I'm so slow and make so many mistakes and I don't like talking to it either.
I'm 48 but I feel like I'm not the norm in this, even within my age group. I have two girlfriends who live out of state. We used to email almost daily but now one started texting a year ago as it's easier for her for various reasons. And I just don't care for it.
Anyone else?

It kinda depends on what I’m doing. But, if it involves much typing (other than texting), I’d prefer to be on my iPad (or laptop if I’m at work).
I’m 41.

For certain things I prefer a laptop and for others I prefer the phone. I like to text for short, quick things but I prefer email on the laptop for more detailed, in-depth things. I prefer buying things such as clothing from a laptop but if it's something I'm familiar with or a re-order I prefer the phone. Reading 2Peas I don't care if it's the phone or laptop but responding to a post, I prefer laptop. I'm 54.

Texting is fine on my phone, but IPad gets the most daily use. I use the laptop for typing lengthier emails or anything that I need to print. I’m 68.

There are people who prefer their phones? The advantages of a phone are its nimble portability and texting. (And of course, using the phone, but who does that these days?) Otherwise, why would anyone prefer a tiny screen to the larger one of a tablet or laptop?

I prefer a laptop. Screen is larger and keyboard larger. my age: I am old.

The phone is fine for texting and some browsing. If I need to do more than simple typing or shopping online, I am on my desktop (no laptop) or my iPad that has a bluetooth keyboard. Since I use an iPhone, I have iMessages set up on both the iPad and desktop (Mac). That's where I will do most of my texting conversations (lengthy conversations). In a past life I was a legal secretary and can still type 90+ wpm. It's much quicker for me to use a keyboard, while those tiny phone ones frustrate me! I'm 63.

I prefer my laptop to both phone or tablet. I like the ability to control more of the browsing - esp blocking ads. And I can't type on phone/tablet keyboards very well at all.

I 100% prefer my iPad over the laptop or the phone. I only use my phone for the occasional Google search, phone calls, the occasional game if I’m stuck waiting for something, and sometimes texting. I use my laptop only when I need to use installed software such as editing a photo, designing something in Photoshop Elements or using my cutter. I prefer using my iPad for texting, email, web browsing, social media, web searches, games, and almost everything else I used to use my laptop for exclusively. I hate using my phone for any of that stuff, but I’m glad to have it as an option if I’m in a real bind.

I actually like using my phone if I have annoying work emails because if you have that “sent from my iPhone” signature people get why you are being brief (and I like being brief).
I also like my phone or iPad if I am scrolling. For whatever reason, I find things like Twitter and Instagram clunkier on the computer.
If I am doing anything else — definitely any actual work, or watching videos, or sending longer emails—I use and prefer my laptop.

I prefer my laptop for everything. Personally I don't even like to use the phone unless I really have to. Might be one of the reasons I don't even own a smart phone.

My phone does everything except print so it's always with me and being used. I read, pay bills, text friends and family, follow groups I'm on, order groceries to be picked up, and items from Amazon. My hubs uses the big computer, the laptop and the tablet. I stick with my phone.

I prefer my laptop. Bigger screen, less eye strain. I kind of giggle to myself about all this talk around "mobile devices are the only wave of the future" coming from a guy or gal who is only 25 years old. Just wait until 40 hits and reading glasses become a part of everyday life.

I use my phone the same as you, out and about, in bed, too lazy to get my laptop(it usually lives next to the couch or on my scrappy desk in another room). I HATE having to "type" anything more than a short message or text on my phone. I will do it if I have to but I would much rather use a keyboard.

I prefer messaging on my phone, even if it's long. I pretty much don't use email for anything personal anymore - Messages, WhatsApp, IG DMs, Signal, etc., depending on who it is. I prefer all of those on my phone, though I can use them all on my laptop too.
I prefer Zoom on my laptop.
Depending on the kind of notes I'm taking, I may want to take them on my phone, my iPad or my laptop.
Longform writing is split pretty equally between my laptop and iPad.
I prefer Twitter on my phone.
If I have to use Google Docs/Sheets, only on my laptop. They're bad enough there but they're abysmal on iOS.
Email on my phone because it's so fast to process.
It really just depends lol I depend on all three of my devices for different parts of my workflows.
Task management - any of them, slight preference for either iOS device.
(I'm 47.)

I am writing this from my DESKTOP computer... DH is a computer nerd and doesn't like laptops because they are too hard to repair, and I don't like the touch mouse with my Ouija board fingers which accidentally zoom in or out, or scroll across the page on accident. I hate trying to type on my phone and sometimes when trying to answer an email, I'll have to switch to the computer so I can see the whole conversation and attachments... I'm a 42 year old with a 90 year old's love of technology

I prefer my laptop and iPad over my phone. The phone is great for when I'm out and about but when I'm home, I prefer a larger screen and typing on a keyboard.

Much, much, much prefer iPad and desktop.
Phone is only for when I've left the house.

For me, it's not the machine -- it is the keyboard! I just love me some old fashion QWERTY in a usual size - that is the part that cancels out the laptop keyboard (it also doesn't "feel" proper). So, yes, I vastly prefer just about anything over my phone! I guess I'm "old" -- I learned to type from Mr. Tink in the 9th grade on a manual typewriter -- that is what we had way back when!

But there have been times when for example one of my kids will text me with a question when I'm not near my laptop. I'll answer on my phone to say "I'll give you that info in a sec"... Then when I get to my laptop where I can type really quickly I'll give them the whole story. -- I almost never come here on my phone...Only when I post photos since Tapatalk is the easiest way for me to do that. Sometimes I'll then edit my post on my laptop so I can add commentary to the photos without trying to type all that on the phone.

I rarely drag out my laptop. There isn’t much I need to do on it that I can’t do on my iPad. I use my phone and my iPad regularly at home, just depending on what I’m doing.
I text and use messenger pretty much on my phone. Messenger is actually the best and fasted way to communicate with my husband while he’s overseas.

Depends on what I’m doing. Ipad most of the time for social media, web browsing, etc. Computer for typing longer stuff, and usual computer things. I have a flip phone but when I’ve use phones to type on it’s a big old mess.

I actually have a DESKTOP computer still (just got a new one in January of this year), and I prefer it for most things. I don't do any financial business on my phone (banking, bill pay, etc.)

I only use my phone for personal stuff -- browsing, text, calls, games. I use my surface laptop with multiple screens for work; I inevitably have multiple windows open that all need to be seen at once. I couldn't possibly work zoom on my phone -- we spend all our time sharing screens. Plus I like a regular keyboard.

If I am typing or working on photography or some other large project requiring research, I need to be on my laptop. I do not work on my phone. I will take a note here and there on my phone if I need to. But actual work needs to be on a computer. I can’t even begin to imagine trying to manually graph data on my phone. 😄. Longer emails need to be typed on my laptop. Short emails are fine on the phone.
Peaing, Facebooking, Instagraming, general internet scrolling are fine on my phone.

I use my phone for phone calls, texts, and to check my email while away from home(mostly glancing at, checking for breaking news). I don't send emails from my phone, only browse the incoming emails. I never check social media from my phone.
I use my desktop computer at home. I thoroughly check my emails, from my home computer. I check various accounts(bank, credit card, etc...), facebook, instagram, message boards, pinterest, watch movies, read library ebooks, etc..
I don't use facebook messenger, because I have to log into facebook to do so. I don't log in to facebook from my phone or while away from home. It became an issue, because I ended up missing last minute invites, answering someone question, etc...because I don't check it from my phone and wouldn't see it until much later. I don't come home and log right in, as social media isn't a top priority for me. For me texting, calling or email... is my primary means of communication.

Depends on what I am doing and where. My laptop at home is connected to a 21" monitor. I love the big screen. It is easier to edit photos and videos on the big screen. I also use the laptop when I do a lot of typing. I also do all my financial stuff on the laptop.
I do use my phone when I am away from the laptop. I'll watch YouTube, I'll answer emails, etc. The only thing I don't like to do on my phone, for unknown reasons, is financial stuff, I don't even like to order online from my phone.
