The spray cheese at the bottom!! LOL Ha - with this post I am now a Beastly Member! Quite appropriate as that concoction is of the devil.

I always wonder how they came up with the combinations. Also wondering about the brown cubes. Beef? 😳

I always wonder how they came up with the combinations. Also wondering about the brown cubes. Beef? 😳 Definitely ham. I had a 60s era cookbook filled with these things. 😆 PS obviously this one isn't a "real" recipe as kiwi would have been far too exotic. But it's still dangerously close to real recipes I've seen.

Someone actually wasted good food and energy on making that to decorate the inside of the waste bin?

That’s awesome. I can have my dinner and dessert all in one bite. Who wouldn’t want spam, green olives, carrots, peas, kiwi with a frosting of spray cheese?

What the heck is that grey stuff? Now you know a party isn't a party without Vienna sausages.

Nasty! I'd like to lose a few pounds so maybe I should post this in my kitchen. I'd lose my appetite every time I looked at it.🤢

There's a mystery series I read set in 70's era Kanas City, and the author frequently posts stuff like this on her FB feed. Jello Salad also features prominently in one of the books. She's really done her research into the fashions of the time too. It's a great series. The Country Club Murders

Stop demonizing the spray cheese. This abomination is not its fault. Spray cheese (squirty cheese in this house) is part of a well-rounded diet, providing the dairy element missing from the fruit/protein/grain combo of your PB and J uncrustables.
The worst jello I ever had to eat was lime jello that was made so it was opaque (I forget what you add-- cold milk?) and then had shredded cheddar folded in. I'd gobble that up in a heartbeat compared to what's above.

I know that kiwi was definitely not available here in Canada in the 1970's so we would not be able to produce that thing of beauty

Mavis to Carl: I'm just gonna clean out the frig tonight, honey. It's all gonna go...together, into one dish. How bad can kiwi taste with olives and oysters?

That thing is just, I don’t know ... astonishing. But the pea comments are pure gold. P.S. to seasidemermaid: I never get tired of looking at that spaghettios-and-Vienna-sausage wonder. Thank you.
