I want to shout at the people who either don't wear masks or the ones who pull them under their noses. I'm talking about a 10-minute shopping trip.
I do not. It will not change anyone's belief. I know that.
But I think "effin moron" SO SO loud.
Has anyone here said anything to anyone? What happened?

I’ve not said anything to someone. Mask usage is pretty good in my area. I see a random person here or there with it under their nose, but really don’t see anyone without one.

I have been tempted to but usually just end up giving them a look or trying to ignore it.

Compliance is good here, but I'd say something if I were indoors and someone got near me without one.

I would never approach someone who wasn’t wearing a mask. Me accosting them or confronting them isn’t going to change their minds and I wouldn’t want to interact closely enough to get their spittle near me. I move away and roll my eyes to myself.

I would be afraid to say anything - the anti-maskers are the majority in my area (no mandate) and very vocal and I strongly suspect there's a big overlap between them and the conceal carry 'good men with a gun' crowd

I go to the grocery store, Costco, Trader Joes and Walmart. Everyone has a mask on.

My husband says something every single time and he's not polite about it. It is truly a miracle that he hasn't been assaulted yet.

We have a mandate and people are pretty good about abiding by it. Thankfully our area is also doing okay with cases and I think most people realize the two go hand in hand.

Yesterday I saw 2 guys in his-vis jackets popping into the supermarket for their lunch and they weren't wearing masks. A member of staff spoke to them and they basically waved their hands dismissively. I did feel like calling them a name or two because it obviously wasn't a case of not being able to wear one for a medical reason.
And last week when we were at a hotel a member of staff had his mask under his nose I did say that he needed to cover his nose. He apologised.
In the street? Probably not.

Nope. Don't know their situation, so I'm not going to assume anything.
When leaving the post office last week, I was headed to my car and saw a guy coming towards me not wearing a mask. I casually thought, oh my first nonmasker I've spotted and I'm going to give him a wide berth. As soon as he saw me, he stopped, turned around and went back to his car to grab his mask. He simply forgot to put it on!
So no, I cannot imagine commenting or shouting something at someone about a mask. How shitty would I have felt in that situation if I had said something?

If bad karma could be transmitted via thoughts and looks, then I would be sending some their way. It's far better than it was in our area but there are always a few in Walmart without their masks. It's the worst when there is no employee standing at the door when you go in. Finally a use for the 'greeters' and they got rid of them.

This was me about 2 months ago. I walked from the car all the way to the front door of Target. Someone came out wearing a mask and I immediately said "on no!" and ran back to my car for my mask. I think if I had seen someone on the way to the door, I would have realized it sooner. I will say that has been the only time I forgot, and I had a lot on my mind. I felt horrible about it.

I just spent the morning in the ER with my mom - when the ER doctor came in to talk to us he had his mask below his nose. For crying out loud!
On the other hand, the hospitalist who came in later had on two masks.

ope. Don't know their situation, so I'm not going to assume anything. This!! I have been advised by my physician not to wear one on my daily exercise walk. Im fighting a non COVID respiratory issue as it is. I wear it everywhere else but I fear the day someone approaches me because they feel I am non compliant. I walk a 2 mile circle and I don't stop, except for traffic lights. Many are out exercising without them as well. Until told otherwise I will continue to follow my provider's recommendations, but I don't have a visible mark that says I am cleared to do this per my provider. So sooner or later someone is going to want to "educate" me on how I am non compliant, but I am. I don't think its the general publics job to be mask monitors.

I was in L’Occitane about 6 weeks ago and asked a man to pull his mask up off his chin. Instead, he left. It was a tiny store and I asked nicely, so I didn’t feel bad.
I’m taking a French class in a nearby town. We’ve had three classes and in the first two classes, I asked a person to cover their nose with their mask. Everyone complied in the third class. We did have a new person show up on Monday and try to sit with friends. Another woman spoke up and said no, it’s one person per desk. I was very glad that she spoke up! People are generally compliant here, but I shop mostly on base. And the French class is all NATO spouses as far as I can tell.

There's never been a mandate here (Princess Reynolds trusts Iowans to do the right thing). Most stores "require" them though. I do wear one, and I wear it properly or I stay far away from people.
What bugs the crap out of me is going into a store and seeing the employees wearing them under their nose.

Signs everywhere saying masks required. I believe the latest is in a crowded area, or in areas you cannot be 6 feet apart. Many of the walking paths are crowded now because the weather finally broke. To technically yes even when you exercise you are supposed to wear a mask if you cannot be 6 feet apart.

If someone has their mask on, but nose exposed I scream "your dick nose is hanging out" loudly inside my heart. (I saw a meme and that's all I can think about now.)
In reality, I try to have no visible reaction other than positioning myself further away from them.

In my head, at the top of my voice.
I don't go into a lot of stores, usually just Costco, and sometimes Lowe's if I can't get what I want curbside there.
I was in Costco last Friday, which is masks required (well, in this State all stores are, but Costco has been great about enforcement). There was a lady back in the fridge section with no mask on. Now, she had to have it on when she came in, so what happened? I literally just watched her, stayed as far away as possible, and judged her HARD. She was the only one I saw that wasn't wearing a mask. And I think everyone else was even wearing them properly (covering the nose).

My husband and I gripe to each other or shake our heads and give "stink" eye. I've no idea why they are not wearing one and I'm not the Mask police.

I don't confront non-conformers but I silently judge them really, really hard!!
I also think "penis-head" when I see people with the mask below their nose (because of that meme of noses hanging over the masks being like penises hanging over the belt).
Actually, I see very few non-mask wearers here and only a few nose-above mask wearers.

I’ve only said something once so far. And it was because the guy was already being obnoxious. Check out line in Target. He had his mask only covering his mouth and was going on to people in line about us being sheep. Etc. I said that’s okay I’ll keep being a sheep while you walk around with your dick hanging out. He immediately looked down. Didn’t get the joke. Oh well. He shut up after that. And a few of us in line got a giggle.

I am not one to tell someone else what they should do. Maybe there is an underlying issue. Not my business. I feel if I am far away enough, it doesn't matter to me. If they were close I would just back up or avoid their direction as much as possible. I struggle enough with my own mask/issues.
I did want to say to some kid (old enough traveling by himself, maybe 16-18 in age) he was the ONLY one in the airport of everyone I was watching not even attempting to wear one. He was everywhere. On the tram with me to the concourse, in a little travel/snack store, one gate down from me. He was in and out of the bathroom, up and down the concourse... I just rolled my eyes. And you would think I was in a small airport.. not really.. Denver which is huge.
