spaces in a crowded parking garage and a friendly PSA: I realize that you are trying to save your precious, precious vehicle from door dings and other minor imperfections by parking this way. Parking this way however, makes me want to ram my car into your car and key it as I walk by, which ironically, is what you are trying to avoid. Just an FYI. Have a great day.

I say that every time I see someone do that! They are just asking for the car to get keyed!

ARRRGGGHHHH, I hate it when that happens! DH and I were at a restaurant with limited parking and there was a car straddling 2 lanes. grrr. and it wasn't because the car was new, or expensive, or precious or whatever. that made it even worse (not that the foregoing is any excuse).

I'm irritated because some ahole backed into my car the other day and left very visible damage. No note, nothing! Freakin effers! The side mirror was pushed in, scuffs all down the panel over the tire and a few scratches.
After that I almost want to take up 2 spots so I won't get hit again!

Have you ever seen a car taking up four spots? Ugh. I was at the mall one day last Christmas and a car was taking up four spots. One wheel in each spot. It inspired rage in my soul.

Those people annoy me. Almost as bad are the people like today...after I spent 10 minutes in line waiting for my freeway on-ramp, some jerk cuts in front of me at the last minute. Ugh. Next time, I'm not letting him in!

Love that expression. It's a perfect way to describe the actions of people who think rules don't apply to them and that they are just so much more special than everyone else.

I have been tempted to carry around a stick of sidewalk chalk to shame these people. There is no reason to take up more than one spot.

Have you ever seen those tiny "city" cars? They are popular in the D.C. - Baltimore region, saw this at a mall lot, TWO city cars blocked the bigger car in. I have to see if anyone posted a pic of it. I thought to, but it was pouring rain. And when I got back, all the cars were gone.

Recently my mom was in the car with me and we parked in a handicap spot. When we got back to the car there was a scathing note on my windshield accusing me of taking up two spots and parking so close to the car next to me that the lady couldn't get into her car and had to call her her DD (writer of note) to come back the car out. She accused me of parking illegally in a handicap spot since I was clearly not handicapped. Huh?? Of course I had my mother's handicap placard hanging from the rear view mirror.
The handicap spot had stripes on either side of the parking slot and I was clearly in my allotted space. I was so mad at the writer of the note.
Yes I dislike those special people who take up two spots. But, clearly they are entitled. O o

The most enraged I've ever been at a parking situation was the teeny tiny smart car parked crossways in two spots. Made me want to kick in a door panel. Not like it would have been hard.

The worst is when they pull to far forward so that you can't pull into the spot at all. We get that ALOT here this time a year as it's 'snowbird' season!!

Back in my teens/early 20s (we're talking early to mid '80s) my friends and I used to carry "business cards" that were printed in old English style font with "Me thinks thou art an a-hole". When we saw cars parked like this we would leave a card for them. I'd never do that today because of car alarms.

I started parking like that when the kids were in infant seats. I liked being able to open the door fully, and have room to move. I try to leave 5 or so spaces between the farthest car out and my vehicle. It burns me when there are 4 open spots, then someone parked right next to me. I totally want to print out the cards from youparklikeanasshole dot com, but I'm afraid of car alarms and of the person walking out and seeing me put something on my car.

We did a big TOT event and when we got back to the car. I had to get in on the passenger side of the jeep and crawl in to the drivers side. Some Ass pack about 2 inches from the drivers door. It was not at all lady like with me doing that. Thankfully I had on legging under my custome.

beachbum, that is hilarious! I wish the car on the right hand side of the a-hole had parked the same way as the guy on the left.

That totally annoys me! What also annoys me is people who drive big huge SVU's or pick-ups and have no idea how to drive them. They WILL fit in a standard parking spot, you just need to know how to drive them. I see one lady driving an Escalade every day who swings into a spot where she is clearly over the line and makes no effort to straighten out. Parking is scarce at my office!

Or there's this option: ( link) The less hardcore version, leave a copy of it with "Next time, a-hole..." emblazoned above the image.

I see one lady driving an Escalade every day who swings into a spot where she is clearly over the line and makes no effort to straighten out. Parking is scarce at my office! I have a big old (and I mean old, the thing is 15 years old) SUV and just so I don't have parking issues I tend to park out in the boonies. I have been driving it for so long that I do know how to drive it, can even parallel park the tank, but I have noticed over the years that parking spots seem to be getting smaller. So in order to avoid the parking too close to someone else thing, I park out in the back 40. But I admit to getting irritated with people who drive the tanks who don't know how to compensate for their size. After a while, you do get a feel for how much space you take up and should know when you aren't in the lines or over the front line taking up part of another spot. It really isn't that hard, and you know when you aren't straight-even in a huge car. The funny thing (for me) is if I drive the boy's car. It is significantly smaller than my boat, and I have to spend a lot of time sorting myself out in parking lots because it SO different and takes me a minute to acclimate to where I am in space and time. I always think that it would be a funny sight to witness, little tiny car, backing in and out to straighten up and making sure with quick open door peeks to make sure that I haven't overcompensated for the smaller size. LOL

I try to find bigger parking spots or spots farther away from the crowd (I have never taken two spots though). I got a 2015 Cherokee Trailhawk a month ago and of course I want to keep it ding-free as long as possible. My previous car was a Lexus and there have been several occasions when someone is parked so close to me that I can't even walk between the cars, let alone get in. One time I had a left broken elbow, making it impossible to crawl across from the passenger side, so I had to go into the store and have the driver paged. I am slightly overweight and also has two fake knees and a fake left hip, again, making it pretty difficult to crawl through a car. People just need to be more courteous period.

I do have one thing to add before everyone goes keying other's cars or considering kicking a dent in a door, not that I believe any of the reasonable peas would really do that, sometimes we don't know if the car that is parked straddling two spaces actually did that intentionally. It could be that some moron did park that way first then forcing all other cars to park straddling lines to fill in the remaining places. After people start to leave you don't know which person started this mess. I know this because I have encountered a movie theater lot that was exactly like I describe and I would have been totally dismayed if someone vandalized my car because they didn't consider how or why we ended up that way There are often two sides to every story that need consideration.
IN the sam even of parking lot stories, yesterday as I pulled into a spot in the parking lot where my daughter works, a glanced up as I gathered my things and saw a woman seeming to be yelling at the windshield of her car. I thought is there a child/passenger that I am not seeing or possibly she is on her phone. I watched her carry on for 2 minutes, entertained by this behavior. It dawned on me that she was yelling at me and I am now looking out the window to see if something is wrong. Nope. She finally puts her car in reverse, shaking her hand at me then gives me a very unfriendly thumbs up, as if to say I was the moron. I nearly flipped her a hand gesture because I thought that was the game we were playing but quickly regained my common sense before I stooped to that level. I figured this woman in her clearly more entitled SUV was having a bad day and was getting ready to pull throughout the parking space and now I forced her to back up. Oh my! To have to drive correctly. I wasn't speeding, I wasn't parked incorrectly. I simply pulled into the nearest space to the building that wasn't marked handicap. What gives with that? People are getting crazy and so self entitled out there. And.... with all her yelling at the window, did she believe that I was going to back out of the space to allow her to pull forward. The parking lot was not full or blocked so backing out was easy and as it turns out she was simply going to pull through, make a uturn and go the opposite direction. I try to be a polite driver at all times but drivers like her make me want to never leave my house. Things that make you scratch your head. On a side note, I was telling my daughter the story and described the woman and my daughter said she thinks she helped the woman in her store and she was a doozy in there too.
