I'm the pea in Japan, and I truly appreciate the cards I've received so far since I know they're expensive to mail. I mailed out some of my nenjago (traditional Japanese New Year postcards) last week and I'll be mailing out the rest by the weekend. Thanks again to everyone

Just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has sent me cards. It's been fun to open the mail and find a greeting. My kids and I are having a fun time tracking all of the postmarks on the map! Thanks again!

Also wanting to send a big huge thank you out to all the Peas who have sent me a card so far. It's been so wonderful, amazing and heart warming to get the mail each day and open these wonderful cards. So far I've gotten 2 cards from friends and family. From the Peas-30! I have a huge stack to mail out today. I'm so sorry I'm running late, but I lost my poor Biru kitty last week and it sent me for a loop. Your kindness and generosity and friendship has really helped me through this difficult time. I'm hoping to get to the post office today or tomorrow. Thanks again!

Thanks so much Kimmie. I'm feeling much better this week, although not psychically. I caught a super nasty cold that has thrown me for another loop so once again I must apologize for my lateness in not getting to the post office. I will get there come flood or famine on Monday. I am finally starting to feel a bit better and am not blowing my nose every 5 seconds. It is super chapped though Yesterday I had the honour of attending my son's college graduation, but it was soooo cold! We had to park in a garage and then climb huge hill to get to a shuttle bus that took us to the right building where the ceremony was being held. Afterwards we had to take photos outside even though it was getting dark and we all had our coats on and were freezing. Didn't get great photos, but as long as I have one of him that's all that really matters, right? I'm so proud of him. He has severe ADHD and he finished with a 3.8 average refusing to use any of the special accommodations that college has available for ADHD students. He told me that wouldn't be available at his job, so why start now? He majored in a field that he loved and I think that had a lot to do with his high scores. I let him focus on that instead of merely choosing a money making field. His degree is in Electronic Media and Film with a concentration in film/video/digital media. Okay, sorry to go on a bragging rant. Didn't mean to do that. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and Happy Hanukkah to all of my dear Pea friends. You are all amazing and dear to me and wonderful in your own, unique ways. I'm so happy we were able to find each other again after the board went down. Thanks so much to the Pea who got this board going and gathered us all together! Debbie in MD.

May I just thank all the peas who sent to the Canucks? I know it costs you more and a special trip to the post office to mail them, so I appreciate your effort and kindness. I haven't counted all my cards but I have lots and I'm enjoying every one of them! Thank you!

Thank you for all my cards - I've really enjoyed receiving every one, in fact I've been looking out for the post lady daily 'just in case' I'm sorry that I was unable to send to everyone on the list this year - but I've enjoyed participating so much I've already started saving a few £'s each week to cover the cost of postage for next year's exchange - so I can send to all participating refupeas. Thank you Fairypod Mother for setting up this site I'm participating far more here than on the other board. Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays to all my fellow Refupeas

I have to say a huge Thank you to everyone that has sent cards - they are so great. Whether handmade or made by someone else they are a delight. This was my first year and it was great. My daughter and I have been opening them together. Even my partner has enjoyed them and he is kinda crusty these days from working so hard.

I will echo everyone else and say a big THANK YOU to everyone for the lovely cards! I am so sorry I was not able to get my butt in gear and send to everyone...especially you overseas gals. Should have realized with both work and school full time this was not a good year to participate. BUT I sincerely appreciate all the cards - they were so fun to receive!

I have enjoyed the cards so much. Every time my daughter and granddaughter come, they have to look at them. My husband also looks at them to see where they came from. It's been fun. Mail will soon go back to being dull again. Happy holidays to everyone. I wish you joy and peace in the coming year.

Thanks to everyone for the cards. They are still arriving. I had surgery on the left hand and left shoulder on Friday-so these continue to be a treat to just look at and enjoy. So glad to be a part of this special group!

So far, this card exchange has been the best part of getting ready for Christmas for me. Thanks everyone. I do have to say that it took me longer to get all of my cards sent out than I expected. I am happy to report that I sent cards to everyone on the list.

Well you will all be getting New Year's cards from me. I once again must apologize while I thank everyone very, very much for the many cards I've received.
As you all know I lost my dear cat Biru on December 8th. A week later, just as I was starting to feel a bit better, I caught the worst cold I've had in years. First my nose dripped like a faucet, then I was blowing it all of the time, now I'm so congested I wish it dripped like a faucet. I am still sick! I have an added complication of being short of breath. Never had that before. I am seeing my doctor this week. I still haven't made it to the post office. Most of the cards have sat in a stack, ready to be mailed but missing a stamp, on my desk.
I will be going to the post office this week on the day I go to the doctor. He is on the same street as the post office. Again I apologize for not getting my cards out to you dear Refupeas on time.
Debbie in MD.

I hope you feel better soon too! I'm mainly going to the doctor because of the shortness of breath thing. I wouldn't normally go for a cold. Although a cold that has lasted 16 days does seem rather odd, doesn't it? At least to me it does. I normally can go a year without a cold, don't normally catch a lot of bugs, and usually recover fairly quickly when I catch one. This one has been a wicked one for sure. I really hope you don't have the same cold, for your sake. Hope you feel better soon, and thanks so much for your kind thoughts. Debbie in MD.

I have really loved this card exchange, it's been such a great experience and I hope to participate again in the future. We started taking down holiday decorations today, but I think the cards will stay on the mantle until at least Valentine's Day!

Finally, finally got to the post office yesterday after seeing the doctor about this horrible, nasty cold I've had since Dec. 14th. I got about 25 cards mailed, got stamps for the rest and will finish them up this weekend. I'm so sorry they are so late. Again thank you so much for sending so many beautiful, amazing cards to me. They meant the world to me over the holidays while I was feeling so poorly. I haven't counted them up yet, but I think I received about 50 cards from the RefuPeas. Simply extraordinary! I only got 4 cards from friends and family. My doctor said this was a very bad cold virus that is going around so no antibiotics. Even the being out of breath part was part of the virus at the end stage, so no worries about having heart problems. What a relief! I met a guy in the waiting room (we were there at 9:30 am, doctor came in 10 minutes after we did, this was December 31st) , and he has the exact same thing. The being out of breath part scared the daylights out of him too. He said he almost went to the E.R the night before wondering did he need an oxygen tank? I felt the same thing, but held off wanting to see my doctor. I have the most amazing doctor. So lucky to have him. Unfortunately he doesn't take any insurance but he is worth it. Luckily I only have to see him twice a year and he answers all my questions by email and will refill prescriptions throughout the year. Anyway, thank you all so very, very much! Can't wait until next year! I promise to be on time (if I don't get sick again Debbie in MD.
