How do you interpret this?

The logo on the butterfly is a Neo-Nazi symbol, the sonnenrad. MAGA are just revealing their true form.

(And I have heard the original context of this image but I would still have recognised it as a Nazi symbol.)

I know why you're asking pjaye. When I saw the uproar on FB about the person who posted it, I was trying to work out what on earth the cartoon meant. I *think* it means that both of the critters were MAGA, and now the one on the right has evolved into a fully fledged Nazi. But I still don't get what the wording "We're supposed to" means.

Maybe a progression toward more extreme behavior with Trump’s encouragement?

i took the "we're supposed to" to mean that is how we can continue "our work" (ie: running around in nazi uniforms and jack books would not be a good look, khakis and polo shirts though.... or like lazy bikers with questionable hygiene.... no one will "recognize" us)

And then you’d have to question the intelligence of someone who posted a cartoon/meme that he clearly didn’t understand. But, then again if he also publicly claims that COVID is a hoax and is an anti-vaxxer, I guess there is plenty of evidence on that score. 

What does it say about me that I got the activated almonds reference but didn't recognize the neo-nazi symbol?

Without the Neo-Nazi reference, it feels like a story of evolution of ideas. A change of belief. With the addition of the symbol information, it's a doubling down of prejudices being "prettied up" for general consumption.

I hate to say this, but I did not know that was a Nazi symbol. I assumed it was an intentional symbol, not a random pattern, so I didn’t know how to interpret the cartoon at all.

When I first heard about activated almonds I assumed it was some hipster thing and rolled my eyes but turns out there's some science to it. Basically you soak raw almonds in a salt water mix and then some people dry them in the oven. I'm not sure if the drying bit is essential. 

I copied this from a website: Raw nuts contain numerous chemicals which actually inhibits the absorption of nuts nutrients. By activated the nuts you breakdown the problematic compounds which enhances their digestibility.

I decided to try it to see what the fuss was about. I've only done the soaking bit and have to say it makes a huge difference in the taste. Raw almonds almost taste acidic and bitter compared to when they've been 'activated'.
