Has anyone tried the Babyfoot foot peel? I tried one a few years ago, but I didn't keep up with it afterwards, so I need to do it again. Any tips? It's expensive, so I want to make sure I do it right! I read some reviews, and people said to keep it on for 1.5 hrs. and to soak 30 min. every night and no lotion until the peeling stops.

I must have dinosaur feet because I tried it twice, followed all the hints and tips to make it work better, and only a tiny bit of skin sloughed off. I was expecting sheets like the people who commented on Amazon, but I could have gotten more skin off with a foot file thingy. It was my biggest consumer disappointment since I bought Sea Monkeys when I was 8 years old.
A lot of people seem to have great success with it though.

My dd and I did it a couple years back and did what elaine did. We each used one boot. We had great success and had tons on skin peel off. It was kind of disgusting but our feet were super soft after that. I can't remember exactly how long we soaked before we put the boot on but I will say that it really worked for us.

Thanks for the thread links! I always used the search feature on the former board, but I can never figure it out on this board. Great tip about using one boot for both feet!

I like to do them in the late spring, before sandal season starts. It is more time consuming, but you can use the same sock thing for both feet. That way you can get two uses out of the package.
Last year I tried a different brand that I had gotten in a beauty box and it didn’t work nearly as well.

NO. Maybe I'm weird but, I feel like my calluses help me from getting blisters when hiking. I keep them from getting big and apply moisture. I would never want baby feet though.

I've used a different brand. I have big feet and needed one that would fit me, and the reviews several years ago mentioned that being an issue with some brands.
I have had success with foot peels, and do them a couple times a year usually.
If your toes are really rough and dry, be sure you sit with your feet on the floor. If you lie down or put your feet up while wearing the booties, all the solution will run to the heels.

I’ve been scared to try out a foot peel. I had super soft feet until I had my first pedicure and for some reason they used the file on my heels—even though they were as soft as my toddlers. Ever since then I’ve had to go in for regular pedicures because after a few weeks my skin starts to crack. It didn’t do that until my first pedicure. I’m scared that the peel will mess my feet up even more

I followed the directions and tips on here and had an underwhelming experience.

Thanks to Elaine’s link, where I mentioned that I had just tried it for the first time, I know I’ve been doing them pretty regularly for almost 5 years now. I do them 2-3 times a year, and while none have been quite as satisfying as the very first one, I peel quite satisfactorily each time. Not enough that I’m shedding a trail of skin, of course, but definitely noticeable results. And, thankfully, I still have my feet. 👍🏻

Because of this thread, I got out a package of foot peel that I had stored away and did a peel while watching The Crown last night.
I wrapped my feet in aluminum foil on top of the “boot” to keep my body heat in. It is pretty cold and drafty here, and I think that the extra heat should help.

I soak my feet in advance. I put socks on top of the booties, and keep them on for 90 minutes. I like the idea of sitting with feet on the floor for maximum contact.
The following days, I soak my feet when showering by putting a wash cloth over the drain. The first time was more effective than subsequent times.

I have another question. Should you take of toenail polish before doing this? I wasn't sure if there was an advantage to having bare toes throughout the process? I hope to do it this week.

If not, I don't like leaving my toes unpolished. I wear slippers and no socks all the time at home, so I always see my toes.

There is something acidic in the chemicals that not only causes you skin to peel, but works as a polish remover. Once the booties are off, and you wash your feet (the day after you apply the peel), your toenails should be good to go for polishing. 😀

I didn't think mine peeled off much, but a few days later, I saw what was in my socks and was shocked. I saw the videos of the huge chunks of dead skin coming off and thought I'd experience that.

i use the off-brand lavender ones from amazon, and they work just as well! soaking your feet in warm water for at least 30 min before is crucial. my feet don't start peeling until day 4 or 5, just when you're starting to think that it didn't work lol. i don't get super peels, but i moisturize my feet daily. my husband gets really good peels on his, disgusting but also satisfying lol. wear socks at night so you don't get all that shed skin in your sheets, blech.

I used those once and they were fine. The next time I used them my feet were unbearably itchy and red for days. I don’t want to risk it again because I was miserable! Bummer because they are so much cheaper than the baby foot ones.
