I will be getting my first shot on Wednesday. How did you prepare your body for the vaccine? How about your second dose?

I showed up in a short sleeve shirt.
Literally I did nothing. Got shot one of Pfizer on Friday.

What do you mean by "prepare"? Why would you need to prepare?

I don't understand the question. How do you prepare your body for a flu shot? A tetanus shot? Any vaccine? I've never done anything.

I searched my closet for a tank top and a zip up hoodie to wear. That's it.
First Pfizer shot this past Thursday.

I rubbed my arm really well afterwards and then had tacos and a Tecate. I had the Pfizer and was fine, my arm was a bit sore the next couple of days. I think the second may lean to more flu like symptoms. I plan on taking it easy and having things on hand that I like when I’m feeling sick.

I've read a couple suggestions---NO pain reliever beforehand (I did take a tylenol before my shingles shot) and if you think you need one after NO Advil or Aleve. Tylenol only.
Just remember to hand your arm down and relax it...
Everyone I know that has had shot #2 has had little to no issue.

I heard that you are supposed to exercise after you've had the second shot. I don't think they meant a huge amount of exercise, but to get your body moving.

I made sure to drink more water before and after. I also had a good breakfast and small snack.
ETA: this was suggested on the paperwork I read after the apt was made.
Be well hydrated and have a nice meal close to your shot time.
It also said no pain relievers before shot but Tylenol after is fine.

Just move the arm around d for the next few days

Hydrate and short sleeves.
For my second shot. I've got a sub the next day just in case

I took ibro before and after each shot. I had the usual reactions after the 2nd shot. I had pfizer. body aches, low grade fever, nausea. But I don't think that had anything to do with me taking ibro before, as others that didn't take ibro had the same reactions.

No prep needed. I just went and got them. Waited the required 15 minutes, being checked on every 5, then went home.

Wore a short sleeve shirt and made sure my kindle was in my bag. We had at least hour long waits here and I knew I would have to stay 30 minutes after the shot so I did not want to be bored.

I heard that you are supposed to exercise after you've had the second shot. I don't think they meant a huge amount of exercise, but to get your body moving. They told my mom to keep moving her arm. They demonstrated in the room for everyone to see. Just windmill motions. She had very little side effects with both shots.

I didn't. I showed up. And I definitely took Advil when I got home and as needed.

None, zip, nada. Easy peasy, and only had a TINY sore arm afterwards for a few hours. I got Moderna. I get my 2nd near the end of the month.

Get the first shot in one arm, and the 2nd in the other arm. Advice from my sister the nurse... and what the nurse who gave DH his shot was doing anyway.

My husband was just after me and when he asked the pharmacist if he should wait, the guy was like "eh, 10-15 minutes if you want."

For the second dose I’d try to do things ahead of time so you can take it easy the next day in case you feel unwell.

I will be getting my first shot on Wednesday. How did you prepare your body for the vaccine? How about your second dose? I put on a top that could easily slip down my arm, along with a tank top. So I wasn’t like the man getting his shot at the same time (four at a time at a pharmacy) who stripped entirely to the waist and proudly/loudly exclaimed, “Men’s prerogative!” And I did a little slow breathing and a visualization before I went in because I’m very bad about shots and medical stuff. Oh, and I showed my husband where the heating pad was in case I got chills. I didn’t.
