And I don't necessarily mean a specifically "winter chore", like shoveling snow. I actually don't mind shoveling, usually. And at least you get warm doing it. But seriously, pumping gas in winter.... As I stood out there today in the wind and cold, and even a bit of rain at one point, I realized that there isn't much else I really hate more in the winter. If we had any full-service stations around here I'd pay extra to have them do it in the winter. And yes, I know I could go sit in the car. I still hate it. eta: and yes, this is a first-world problem. I'm thankful I have a vehicle, and I'm thankful that gas prices have dropped. And, in the part of the third-world where I lived for four years "cold" meant 60s, and someone else pumped the gas into my moped.

Pumping gas in the winter ranks pretty high on my list of things I hate to do outdoors in the winter too. In Oregon it is illegal to pump your own gas. And the gas prices in Oregon aren't any higher than the prices in Washington. I like to have my tank filled when I drive over to Oregon.

I would say walking down my long, icy driveway risking life and limb to get the mail. I would agree with you that pumping gas stinks, but that's something that I only have to do once a week or so. Getting the mail is an almost daily occurrence and it takes nearly as long to do it now that we live where the mailboxes are across the street.

Getting out of bed to let the dog out in the middle of the night. In the summer I enjoy sitting on the porch in my jammies and watching the stars twinkle while my pup does his thing. In the winter my poor pampered toes hate the feel of the cold floors and opening the door to the blasting wind make my hatred for winter grow deeper every year. Then I have to wipe the snow off of the dog's paws and shiver me timbers until the bed warms back up. Did I mention I despise winter?

Pumping gas for me too. I dread it even in good weather, winter makes it more hateful.
P.S. I never learned how to pump gas until I was 52 and DH died. He always made sure my car was clean, serviced and had a full gas tank.

I'm 40 years old and I have never pumped gas. I used a full service station or DH or son. I'm not sure I'd even know how. I've also never mowed a lawn. My DH says I spoiled but I figure at 40 i e never done them and I'm not going to start now. The full service station I use is awesome and is a mile from my house. Old guy named frank fills it up, looks under the hood, checks the oil and off I go

Grocery shopping. I hate standing in the wind and cold loading it into the trunk, returning the cart, walking back to the car only to do it all over again when I get home and have to unload it.

I'm half shocked and half impressed that there are women who have never pumped gas themselves! We don't have any petrol stations here any more who will fill your tank. I kind of miss those days.

Grocery shopping here too and it doesn't even snow! It gets cold enough at night that I like to hunker down inside with my trusty space heater.

The same chore is my least favorite regardless of the season. Cooking!
I actually love to shovel snow, but with three daughters (11, 15 and 17), it's their job. They much prefer shoveling snow/mowing the lawn to any inside chore. My husband jokes that that's why we have three girls - so they can do the outdoor work!

I always hated hauling wood. I always got splinters no matter how careful I was.

I didn't even think to say pumping gas. But yes, that's a pain in the winter. At least we have a gas station at the end of our street. I often get gas for my husband in the winter since he hates the cold. I do too, but he is always fixing my computer issues for me, so that's the least I can do!

Anything outside. I don't like to be cold. Seriously I skipped going to two happy hours tonight, it's the first day I've needed to wear a winter coat and quite frankly I just couldn't bare the temperatures yet.

Pumping gas! I hate it for several reasons. [HASH]1 reason is that my husband always did it for me. I could count on one hand how many times I pumped my own gas while we were married. He even took care of it for me while we were dating. I haven't had to take care of snow removal. Last year while my husband was going through his chemo treatments our neighbors took care of it for us. Our one neighbor has a plow on the front of his 4 wheeler, so it was quick and easy for him. So nice! He told me he would help again this year as much as possible. He travels for his job. I have a snow blower too, so I can manage on my own.

This week has been -2 or so. It snowed for several days. Walking the dogs has been awful. Neither one of the dogs has realized how awful it has been. The walks have gone from 45 minutes to about 8-9 minutes.

I might have to add grocery shopping to my original post. I hate shopping and cooking anyway, so yeah....dragging the cart through a snowy slushy icky cold parking lot isn't a lot of fun.

carrying in firewood.. we have wood heat, so have no choice but to carry it in.. late october til early/mid April we carry in wood.. i hate it. thankfully ds 16 does it a LOT more than I do, he has pity on me cause I have multiple health stuff===but I do carry in a lot too. I have a rule that you never walk into the house empty handed in the winter, if you arent carrying in groceries or something you carry wood in
I basically hate everything outside in the winter though, would hibernate if I could.

Anything outside. I don't like to be cold. This is me too. Although I suspect what I consider cold and what others consider cold may be totally different. Yep. I am not at all a cold weather person. And anything below 50 degrees Fahrenheit is cold. I get incrementally grumpier the lower it goes.

Pretty much anything that makes me have to go outside lol, we get super cold, snowy, icy winters here and they start usually mid October and go to at least April.
So yeah pumping gas and we have to pump our own at UFA if we want the cheaper price, I hate having to go out and start my car, scrapping the windshield and any other thing that makes me have to leave my warm house lol

I left work and made a 3 hour trip down to see family today. I knew I needed gas when I left but drove until the last possible moment. The gas idiot light had been on for many miles before I gave in. Yesterday day I was grocery shopping in the snow. I hate that too...so I abandoned my cart in the snow so some poor sucker would run into it. Just kidding. I always park right next to the corral. I know the rules!
