I generally set it someplace crazy in the house, but when I leave the house I have it with me. I have directional insanity and use it for directions a lot, even when walking. I also have it so people can reach me in an emergency. I am typically first contact for someone with little kids and if I am asked to watch them I don’t want to miss an opportunity to do that. At work my office manager and boss typically contact me for some reason or another while shopping so if we are not in our classroom they want to be able to contact me, I have used my phone to get into my car, open the garage, pay for groceries, use the atm and get from point a to point b.
I grew up with only a landline phone and made numerous 5 hour road trips through mountain passes in a clunker car all without a cell and now I can’t imagine being without it .

I almost always have it with me--the few exceptions are when I forget it or when I'm walking around the building while working (if I'm not listening to anything). I like to have it on walks so I can listen to something, but also as a safety measure because DH can see where I am or where I was through the family app (not a control thing at all, just a way to be able to see where any of us are if needed). We got rid of our land line a year ago so I now keep it on "do not disturb" on my nightstand. That has turned into a handy thing because now I can use my phone for an alarm instead of changing the alarm time on my clockradio.
Part of why I always have it on me, even when moving around the house, is because it became a habit when I was delivering flowers for my neighbor. I never knew when she'd need to get a hold of me to ask if I could do a delivery...and if I didn't answer in a certain amount of time she'd start calling our home phone, then DH's phone, then walk over and knock on our door...ugh... But now I still like to have it near so I can look for something I happen to think of or write a note for something I remembered.

I voted NO. I am not a slave to my phone but always take it with me on walks to the beach or around the neighborhood. Not to use it, but in case of emergency. Doesn't matter where I go, I have my phone in one pocket and my i.d. in another pocket. My phone has a label with my husband's phone number on it and "if found, please call this number." We live in wildfire country so I usually have my phone nearby in case of alerts. I have horrible allergies half of the year and we keep our windows closed. I could easily be oblivious to a fire next door or heavy smoke in the area. I do check our local online news site a few times a day during the worst of fire season, which is pretty much year round now. Very grateful for this technology, although we have really lousy reception in our home. Just curious why you voted no when it sounds like you do have your phone with you when you leave the house and nearby when inside.

I usually take it with me on walks but it's for the camera more than a safety thing - we live along the river and I enjoy taking photos on my walks.
I generally know where my phone is when I am in the house but it's not attached to me. Like others mentioned, I use it as something other than a phone far more often - it holds my recipes, it's my camera and I use it to make notes when I am surfing the web. Other than texting, I actually use it as a phone maybe once a week.

I voted no because I do take it with me when I leave the house, but I do not have it with me when I’m at home. Often my phone is in another room or upstairs while I am downstairs while at home.

No. It’s an issue for other people. I find it amusing when they attempt to push their phone obsession on me. Seriously, when I get home, the phone is either placed on my nightstand (weekdays) or a number of other places (weekend). It is not unusual for my phone to be ignored the entire weekend, unless Pokemon Go is involved.
My phone lives on silent mode, too. While Mom was hospitalized, I made sure my phone would ring in the event DH needed me. It was a relief when he arrived home at night, because the various alerts created way too much noise.
The only reason I have my phone on me when I walk is to rack up some meters for Pokémon Go.
Never felt the need to answer a ringing phone when we had the landline either.

I do now. A few years ago some idiots were on my property helping themselves to some junk we were dealing with from an abandoned structure. Now, it’s two houses down from mine amd had I not been walking to get my mail, no one would have been the wiser, and the guys would have had tires we never would have missed. But I did go get my mail without my phone in hand. My dh was livid that o didn’t take their pictures and didn’t get a license plate. That structure and all the stuff is now gone. But I’m ready to chase off any wanna be thieves. We live on the country and you would be amazed at what people think they’re entitled to do outside city limits. We’ve had people park in our grass for auctions nearby. It’s quite infuriating really.

No, I hate being tied to it. I try to remember to grab it when I leave the house, but I forget sometimes. I almost never have it with me in the house, My iPhone does alert me to calls and texts in the house.

No. I tend to leave it in my car because I don't get strong cell service in my house. I never have it in my bedroom, but I have an iPad that I use to get texts and facetime, so that probably takes the place of the phone.
I don't take it into stores usually; I don't take it when I exercise.
So, I guess my answer is decidedly "no."

I voted Yes but I guess it comes with some exceptions. At home it will be in the house if I'm outside, unless I'm listening to a podcast or expecting a call.
I always take mine when walking. I didn't use to all the time but I was walking once with my daughter and she had a medical episode and I had to run home to get my husband while leaving her sitting in a bus shelter. I have also come down with a very sudden and severe migraine when walking where I had to call home for help.

I have my phone with me(in my purse, on my desk if I am home, at the gym I wear a fanny pack), at all times. When I am out and about, I generally keep it on vibrate, unless I am expecting a call that I don't want to miss.
I don't bring my phone into the bathroom with me, as I don't want to risk it getting wet, falling in toilet, etc...
Although my phone is always with me, I am not one to be on it 24/7. I don't obessively check my phone every five minutes. I return calls and texts at my convenience. My phone is for my convenience. My phone is not for anyone else's instant gratification, not to appease anyone else, nor to be instantly reachable for anyone else.
The only time I didn't have it, was when I had surgery. My Mother was my driver, and she held on to my purse for me, while I was under anesthesia.

I voted no because I cannot have a personal phone at work. Wow! It's like they don't trust you I think it's more that phones are a hot commodity in her place of work than a trust issue.

I voted No.
I usually do not have my phone with me. I could not tell you were in my house it is right now.
I do have an apple watch but it has been sitting on my dresser since Saturday.
It drives my dh bonkers. Right now I have a Iphone12, before I had a 6 and was happy with it, I didn't want an upgrade but my phone was glitching. My dh wanted to get me another 6 but they didn't have any.
During the day, I'm usually alone. If I leave the house usually need to run back inside because my car tells me that my phone can't connect.
We do not have a landline and people usually know if they want to talk to me to call me twice so that I can find my phone to answer.

I plug it in to charge in the kitchen when I'm at home. When I go upstairs or sleep I do not have it with me. I have it with me more than I would because I use it as my camera.

My iPhone is so much more than a phone. I don’t really talk on it that much but I do a lot of other things with it- I text, google any number of things like the FedEx drop off box today- track my exercise, listen to music, make lists, take pictures, keep coupons, shop and purchase way too much- like those weird things that I know I couldn’t find in a store but I can get from Amazon in a few days- get creative with photos, play a game, read, listen to podcasts, plan dinner, look up what’s on sale at the grocery, log-in at work, use the calculator, use it for my alarm, post on 2peas, etc, etc.... those are just some of the reasons why it’s always with me. It’s not a phone so much as a “life device”.

Pretty much yes. I use it to track my miles/speed on walks -plus one time I didn’t have it and ran into a mountain lion or cougar or some kind of big cat and wanted to call Dh to pick me up rather than have to walk by it but of course I didn’t have it that day! 😱
Otherwise it’s always next to me at home and work (I work at home) or in my purse if I’m out.

Absolutely yes! My daughter is in the Army and can't talk or return messages or texts whenever I would like. I am not going to miss the rare times I get to talk to her because I left my phone somewhere.

I wasn’t sure if I was a Yes or No. Voted Yes. I have it with me when I go out, but when I am home, it can be anywhere. I use Apple Pay a lot when I shop, so I need my phone with me when I go out. I also take it with me for emergencies. One time I left the house for a quick errand without my phone. I didn’t even know until I got home and saw my phone on the kitchen counter. I am glad I didn’t realize I didn’t have my phone because I would have really freaked out thinking I lost it! 😆

Yes, I have my phone with me pretty much all day every day. The only exception would be when I go to the toilet, but the other people in this house have no such qualms about taking it into the toilet with them.
I always take it with me when I go for a walk 1) so I can take photos 2) in case I trip and break my ankle 3) in case I am being followed.
I keep my phone in a wallet-style cover, so it also contains my money, credit cards, licence, train pass, work pass etc.
These are some of the things I use my phone for regularly:
Take photos and videos - I do Project Life and 1SE so I want to have my camera with me all the time Listen to the radio Listen to music and podcasts Watch TV or videos Emails Social media Scan receipts Store my recipes Shopping list Map while driving Mark my location if I'm parking in an unfamiliar area or at a sporting arena Stores my shop loyalty cards Redeem free stuff at Maccas Do all my banking Check the weather Store tickets to sporting events and concerts Scan QR codes at all restaurants / venues (COVID requirement here) Play games Read the news Birthday reminders Alarm Clock Reminders Calendar entries Find out the name of songs on Shazam Log my son's learner driver hours Calculator Fitness tracker (connected to my Garmin) Buy lottery tickets Entertainment / restaurant voucher book Verify codes when logging into work VPN or logging into iCloud etc from a different device
And sometimes I even use it as a phone!!

I never leave the house without my phone.
If I forget it I’ll turn around to get it.
You mentioned Target in the OP.
How do you Target without your phone?!? All my coupons, gift cards, and payment method is in my Target app.

I voted no because I cannot have a personal phone at work. Wow! It's like they don't trust you I'm a teacher and need to use my phone just to get into my attendance page ... I could use a landline but I never would ... I don't play on my phone during work hours but it is always nearby At home I always have it ... it's just second nature now ... I also grew up in The Dark Ages High security (prison) cell phones are a hot commodity... if they let all of us start carrying them it would just be a matter of time before it is a huge problem. I have accidentally carried mine in and security didn’t see it either... I about died when I saw it in my purse... lol

On walks i have it for the camera and/or music. Otherwise i have it in a card holder type wallet thing so i need it to pay. At the gym i need it for music. At work i need the calendar and a way to reach people easily (can't text from work phones).
So it's pretty much always with me though i do occasionally leave it at home when I'm running with the dog. And i leave the credit cards at home when I'm out walking.

Almost always have it on me or close by. Of course if I step away or accidentally leave it inside while doing something that’s when I get the call I’ve been waiting for. I almost never get phone calls but use it more for emails and texts.

My phone is always with me, even sleeps beneath my pillow, I’d feel naked without it! 😂 Ha! I should have just said *me too* instead of typing out my own reply. Except mine is on my nightstand, a whole 18” away 😉 Same! Except 12" away!!

Nope. I am quite often "in trouble" with my friends because I leave my phone in my purse on silent and don't respond to texts until hours have gone by and I remember to check it.
