That's effing ridiculous. So the kids have to decide not to have that year's yearbook for themselves? That's no solution at ALL. That school is all sorts of messed up.

This is ridiculous! Some females find beards on guys very attractive. So do they photoshop out beards on male students because they don't want to "distract" the females? Or if a boy has gorgeous eyes, do they photoshop them to make them less "attractive"? I bet they didn't photoshop any boys. They didn't photoshop ANY of the male sports team photos. I'm sure they were showing lots of skin in those. Did you see the photo of the male swimmers that was in the yearbook? Wearing speedos with no cover up? And they are worried about girls clothing that did not even rise to a dress code violation since NOT ONE of those 60 young women were told their clothing was inappropriate.

This is ridiculous and maddening
I think the girls at this school should protest next year by wearing red “handmaid” outfits next year on certain days and repeat “under his eye” when talking to any administrators while wearing them. And they should plan it for days when there are activities that would draw the community’s attention to the protest.
ETA: Thinking about this a little more, I think this should be a standard response at alll schools where these unreasonable dress codes are enforced.

The young lady was very articulate and it made me thankful that girls today are so wiling to speak out about sexism. The kids are better than I was. I am so proud of them.

"Fabre said she still has a number of questions about the photo editing. "What adult approved that?" Fabre asked. "How does that happen? Why are they allowed to be judgmental on cleavage or no cleavage? And if they are allowed to Photoshop, why aren't you teaching them proper Photoshopping skills, and why did this teacher approve for this to go to print?" Langston said the photos were digitally altered at [Anne] Irwin's direction. Fabre said she was told she could get a refund if the yearbook is returned and nothing has been written in it. She said it's unrealistic to think students haven't already gotten their yearbooks signed. We're still at it. I'd sue. I don't say that lightly. I've never sued anyone. I would sue over this - for damages. Like those young women don't have enough societal pressure over their bodies - they need it coming from THEIR SCHOOL in a way that will stay with them for a LONG TIME.

Well, the story made the local radio station. They've named the teacher that did it "based on the dress code."
And the yearbook was $100. That is quite a bit more than ours.

That's NOT distracting?
