If so, how did you like it? I recently switched brow studios and my new one offers brow lamination. I'm tempted but unsure. Some of the before and afters online are crazy dramatic and not my jam. But some are great. I like the brow studio and trust the person who does my brows so I don't think she'd make me look ridiculous But I'm curious about first person stories. If you've done it, do you like it? Was it worth it to you? Would you do it again? Update: I went ahead and did it. I like the results (after is the left photo, before is the right - they are a little messy and needed to be brushed in the after, but you get the idea). They definitely look more full and thick than before - the before brows are also tinted, so it's not just the tinting that makes the difference. My before brows also were filled in with brow pencil, and I have nothing on my after brows. That said, I haven't decided if I'll continue doing it. But wanted to share my results because lamination does not have to look shiny and super overdone. 9/19 - 5 week update (several people DMed with questions about how they look as time goes on, how long it lasts, etc)Yesterday was 5 weeks since I had it done and they still look largely the same. No noticeable grow-out. Still darker; I normal tint every three weeks and haven't. Looks like I do need to brush them in this photo (and my hair too 😬) but overall, they haven't changed much. I still don't know if I'll repeat the service. We'll see how I feel once they start going back to normal... looking at my before vs after photo, I'm more into repeating it. On a daily basis, looking in the mirror, it doesn't feel like they look *that* different than before but photos disagree. This is today

I have not, because even the less dramatic versions are simply not for me, personally. I just let my brows be, for the most part, and sometimes that makes them on trend, and sometimes not, and I'm okay with that.

I have my brows waxed when I get my haircut every 3 weeks but that's it. I personally do not care for all of the brow trends. They are not me. I want my eyes to be the focus not my brows. That's just me, and I am fine with that.

I always wonder how they look as the lamination grows out… It seems to be a very contrived, precise look and I don’t think that would suit my face at all now. I might have gone for it in my 20s and carried it off ok 😁

I have my eyebrows done with semi-permanent makeup. A good artist can do amazing things, so if you’ve seen examples of their work that you like, then I say go for it. Lamination is cheaper and quicker than microblading, and it doesn’t last as long so if you super hate it then it’s not forever. Good eyebrows make SUCH a difference to your face!

How often do you have mircoblading done? I've been looking into it as I over plucked my brows and have parts that need to be filled in and won't grow back. The prices seem really expensive.

No experience here, this is actually the first I have heard of it. But looking at the photos, my first impression is that it would look a bit off if you don’t do your make-up in a pretty precise way, if that makes sense. If you prefer a natural, soft or no make-up look I think they’d look too finished and stand out, that they’d look over done.

Once three years ago, and I’ve just had them redone. I think that’s unusual, but mine lasted really, really well. It is expensive, but totally worth it to me.

Most of the ones I see online are more dramatic than I'd want. Here's an example of a lamination/shaping/tint done by my person - this is the kind of look I prefer. I'm not interested in microblading - I do not want to go through the long healing and refining process and I'm concerned about scarring; my skin scars easily. It *shouldn't* happen but if it did, it would be terrible. My brows are pretty light and I've been tinting them a couple shades darker (not dramatically dark) for a few years now, to give a thicker look (why did no one tell me that my brows would get more sparse with aging waaaahhhh). Tinting only lasts two to three weeks, though. Lamination is supposed to last longer and if it gave me a longer lasting thicker look, that would be awesome. Have I mentioned I hate aging lol.

I’ll confess to never having heard of it until now - and I still don’t really know what it is and how it differs from other brow treatments. Can you tell I don’t think about my eyebrows much?

That looks really natural, busy. The technician makes all the difference, sounds like you've got a good one.

I'm not a fan of the look on most people. They're too straight and shiny. I fill mine in with a pencil and then brush a tinted gel pomade over them so they're shaped but not all straightened out hair by hair and shiny like that. It looks like it's already dated, to me.
Your eyebrows are the frame of your face, always pay attention to them!

That looks more natural than most pictures I’ve seen online; I do wonder if a darker color makes it look less natural due to the higher shine factor. I still think it depends on how you style yourself as to whether it would fit in with your look, but they do look nicely kept there. Back in the olden days (pre-2020) when I still got my hair colored I had my brows colored every other time, so 6-8 weeks and it made such a difference in my whole face! I didn’t realize that as I got older (plus thyroid issues) not only did they get thinner, but so much lighter. How long is it supposed to last? What are the worst side effects your person has seen and can those be covered for until they grow out? If your brows bother you that much I say go for it!

I just had My brows done 2 days ago. I hadn’t heard of lamination, but my brows were too sparse to make it an option anyways. I had a combo procedure done (microbladed strokes and powder). They are dark now, but will fade out in a few weeks. I can’t get over how the new shape looks, it was like an instant facelift.

It’s supposed to last 6-8 weeks, so more than twice as long as the tinting I currently do lasts. It’s more expensive each time, but works out to be basically cost-neutral. The only real “side effect” is if you don’t like the look - you can’t really undo it, so you’ve got 6-8 weeks to endure. I don’t think the “shiny” look is in day-to-day wear, is it? I notice that a lot in photos that are immediately post-service but not otherwise.

Regardless, 6-8 weeks doesn’t seem that grand in the big scheme of things, especially if you’re able to reduce the number of times you go by half and are happier with your results. Do you use a permanent tint? I wonder why mine seems to last twice as long. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this in person so I’m not sure. Or, if I have, then yes the shiny is an every day look. I just assumed the 2 people who might have had it done use a color far too dark and some sort of brow gel. It’s not a natural look at all and actually detracts quite a bit from their gorgeous eyes.

I didn’t know what lamination did to eyebrows, but I had my suspicions. Now that I’ve looked, I wasn’t far off and I’m not a fan. Just like the overly penciled Instagram brows, they look too unnatural for everyday. In a photo shoot, on the red carpet, I can see how they might work. Schlepping to Home Depot for a bag of mulch, my eyebrows would be leading the way. It’s a pretty specific look, the picture posted here doesn’t look like laminated brows to me.

Lamination is like perming.
The picture you posted looks good, natural etc, so if you have a great tech go for it!

I don't get it, it just looks like the brows have been brushed upwards. They look blocky and unnatural to me.

I think the result looks stylized / dramatic and that you have to be happy with the look all of the time. I know someone who had it done and she always looks surprised to me. Her brows also look shiny. To me this draws too much attention to her brows. I prefer brows to look natural and blend into the face rather than be the focal point. It depends what you’re going for.

That's why I have my shaped with waxing every 3 weeks. I also pencil and use a gel daily. That is easy, cheap, and looks nice and natural. I think what I don't like about all of these new things is that they don't look natural. The photo you posted looked much better than other photos I have seen online (brushed up, dark, and shiny). If you find someone that you love and you like it, enjoy! I hope you will post a photo if you do it. Would love to see.

Saw this brow product, it is supposed to mimic the laminated look. You could test it out and see what you think. Perhaps take it to your brow groomer and see if the effects are comparable to what you can expect.
