Funny I was reading the other thread and the radio station DJs are talking about the top five driving songs ever (They were getting this from a list but I didn't hear where they getting it from)
5. Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
4. You Can Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac
3. Livin On A Prayer - Bon Jovi
2. Dancing Queen - Abba
1. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Only Livin On A Prayer would be in my top five. I'll have to think about my top five...

if you ask my 4yr old DGS he’ll tell you On The Road Again by Willie Nelson. The child loves to sign along with that one.

I think mine would be: 5. Livin On A Prayer - Bon Jovi 4. Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond 3. Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar 2. Sweet Home Alabama - Skynard 1. Don't Stop Believin - Journey (almost anything by Journey or Perry fits this one) Lots of others.. and these are not necessarily in order. I do have to throw in my man, Rick Springfield.. he's kinda automatic for my playlist. lol There are a bunch more and lots of country songs too. I kept this list rock/pop only.

I can NOT listen to Bohemian Rhapsody in the car without head banging to it, like Garth. lol. That's all I wanted to say.

Go Your Own Way is definitely a good driving song for me. I sing along at the top of my lungs every time. Stevie and Lindsey! 💔
Another obvious choice for me, with a mellower touch, is Fast Car by Tracy Chapman.

for driving, I want fun songs, or a top 40 countdown. This summer when we were on a road trip, I wouldn't get out of the car at a pit stop because it was on the #2 song. I couldn't possibly miss the announcement of #1 for that week in 1987 (or whatever year it was in that range) lol. DBF thought I was crazy, lol. But, it was a New Kids on the Block song, so I was right, I couldn't miss it

Yeah I was surprised when they started naming these off (except Bon Jovi)..... I would have never picked any of them.. I'm not a huge Fleetwood Mac fan so their songs would be out. The other ones I don't mind but just not something I would pick.. maybe top 100??

I listen to showtunes or classical. I'm a road geek. I would defiantly throw in some showtunes...most recently anything from The Greatest Showman.. then a bunch of random oldies. No classical though. Although back in the 80s I loved that Hooked on Classics I think it was called.. kinda meshing the classics with a twist. You probably would cringe on that though.. haha.

Are you Canadian? I'm assuming of course that this is the Tom Cochrane song. I like anything I can sing along to while I am driving. Some that strike my fancy: Burning Down the House by Talking Heads Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon All At Once by The Fray Runnin' Down a Dream by Tom Petty Burn it to the Ground by Nickleback Come to Me by The Goo Goo Dolls All Hell for a Basement by Big Sugar Hot Tonight by Tokyo Police Club

for driving I like songs that are upbeat, and it helps if they're ones I know the words to / want to sing along with. I'm very eclectic in what I like: the soundtrack to Les Mis, The Partridge Family, Abba, Neil Diamond's greatest hits, Garth Brooks (the double live concert is a good driving one), etc. Any of them depending on my mood.
The Greatest Showman soundtrack was VERY helpful when I was on my last by-myself road trip: 'This is Me' was my 'I'm not scared of this horribly heavy rainstorm and the totally dark, 2-lane highway' saving grace, lol.

Tiny Dancer for me. It was our summer of 2019 driving song. Lots of great ones listed above. Anything Bon Jovi for sure.
