Last week I had about 3 things not available for my grocery order , not so bad. Today I tried to make an order and 13 things were unavailable. All things I needed for my dinners for the week.
We are in no way stocked up on food and this worries me, but I don’t want to panic. This was at a Walmart in the Midwest. How are your store shelves?

Shelves are always cleared around here towards the first of the month.

I haven't noticed any big differences or long lines. There might be delays due to trucking/shipping etc on some products I would imagine. But store seems plenty stocked with alternatives and pretty easy to pivot.

It varies depending on the week. There have been some things empty in the shelves but not for more than a couple of weeks.

I haven't had a difficult time recently (knocks wood). Though the paper goods aisle still is pretty empty. I gave up using paper napkins and paper towels during the pandemic, and buy seventh generation TP from Amazon, four months worth at a time, so in paper-goods-land, I'm good.
So far I have had one recent order (for cloth napkins) held up by the problems the US is having getting goods into the country. I'll be curious when that order finally arrives....

Nothing different in my stores. I only noticed a few things the weekend before school started, but that's normal.

Fancy Feast cat food! Lots of empty shelves, apparently certain flavors. There's one flavor in particular (I'm not telling you guys which one so you don't snag them for yourselves!) that my cats really like and I did stockpile about five of that flavor the other day but I just now get a variety of what they have--it's hit or miss at several different stores--Target, Publix, etc.

There’s even a sign on the shelf apologizing and saying there are “supply chain issues.” I also wonder if there are fewer people working currently to stock the shelves because of the labor shortage.

I’ve been noticing low stock on a lot of things at Whole Foods, but I’m guessing that’s more Amazon inventory optimization than anything else. I’m not seeing anything similar at other stores.

Lots of empty shelves, something we didn't really have to deal with the first time around.
I'm not sure what the supply chain is like, but we're definitely seeing the labor shortage... Last weekend, my grocery store aisles were crammed with pallets that needed unloading.

There were limits in place for tp and paper towels, but pretty much everything was in stock when I went last week. I did grab a bag of frozen chicken breasts just in case, but there were plenty of bags left.

I haven’t been able to get a handful of my usual freezer meals from Trader Joe’s but other than that it has been fine. I do not use curbside pick up at other stores because something is always marked out of stock and lo and behold I’m able to find it when I go inside.

Things are pretty normal except Topo Chico has been limited. Also, the HEB Rotisserie Chicken Salad is always out of stock. Texans will understand my frustration.

For the most part, normal.. there always seems to be something missing from my list.. but that is the normal anyways. I do notice when I do an Amazon Fresh purchase they tend to be out of stock on about 10-15 percent of my order.

My regular store has mostly been fine until today. It was really weird - many empty shelves, but also people all over the store who seemed to be stocktaking before reshelving. Luckily, I didn’t need much and there was only one thing I couldn’t get, which wasn’t urgent. Interestingly, just after I left the grocery store and was picking up a couple of things in the bakery and deli on my way out, there were sirens and then a warning announcement, that due to ‘operational malfunction’ the entire building - department store, grocery store and the smaller shops - were all about to close down. I don’t know if these things were related. I was just getting change from my final stop, and so I headed straight home.

My stores (usually Super Target, sometimes local grocery chain) have had very random supply issues. And when they have the problem, it's BAD, like zero of any variety to be had. Since early September I've noticed shortages on
*Canned soups *Dry pasta *Chips - I had never previously seen a completely empty chip aisle. Even the pork rinds were gone. *Granola bars/cereal bars/protein bars *Goldfish crackers *All portioned lunch size snacks have been very picked over (could just be back to school)
My Target also started to carry a premium brand of deli meat, getting what I've wanted has been tough.
Typically the shortages last 1-2 weeks, then back to normal and another thing is out of stock.
Toilet Paper and Paper Towels are holding steady at 50% capacity. I always check.

It's really hit or miss around here. I've been making an effort to stock up on our most used items as I find them and as they go on sale. I find comfort in knowing I can feed my family without having to always run to the store especially with Winter coming.

I just got back from the grocery store in fact... Giant grocery store in Northern Virginia. There were a lot of empty spots on shelves and other items were pulled way forward to the front edge of the shelf to make it look like there were more. But when you looked in the back you could see it was empty. Lots of signs saying "we're working hard to restock, please limit quantities" but nothing I bought had an actual limit put on it. I will confess to buying the last two packs of salami, and the last four bottles of Diet Tonic. Both were on my list and both are things we eat a lot of. The paper goods aisle was pretty empty. I bought nothing there because I buy those things at Costco and we don't need any at the moment. I saw someone joking on FB about how the recent TP shortage is because everyone who stocked up last year is finally running out. haha

Two weeks, two different Trader Joe’s and I can’t find my corn chips. Super first world, but sometimes I feel snacky.

Grocery stores seem pretty normal, however my local Walgreens have a lot of empty shelves, and there are a lot of random things I can't get - my brand of contact solution, Tums, some candy I like. I'm in NE.

I have had a few things where what I want is not in the grocery — full-fat plain Greek yoghurt, weirdly, is one of them. Whole Foods yesterday was cleared out of bulk-bin granola and some other bull-bin items.
The only store I have been to with majorly low or absent stock on things was Sephora. I do not know if that is supply chain or just a store that isn’t on top of things.

both Aldi and Publix have had on-going empty shelves - and they seem to be increasing. Lots of signs apologising due to production or supply issues.
My pantry and freezer were on the low end (because we had been eating through our previous backstock) so about a month ago I decided to start restocking both -not buying tons of anything but just a little extra - 4 cans of tomato soup instead of 2, the bulk packs of chicken and ground beef to divide up, an extra flour and sugar...The plan being to eat from the pantry/freezer and then restock what I use (as available) rather than having to pivot in the store.
