I am not a spinner but I am looking for something to get the lbs off. Has anyone bought a used Peloton? Marketplace is peppered with used bikes. I don’t know if a used Peloton or a new IC4 would be better.
eta…anyone buy a used peloton? I think I found my bike so long as she’ll hold it until the snow clears. anything I need to know as the second owner? How do I delete her? Fingers crossed she holds it
eta…I decided on a gen 3 regular bike. I decided since I don’t know if this is for me to go with the cheaper bike. I spent $1100 so saved a chunk of change. They are selling between 11-1400 so the market is there to resell if necessary.
so..where is this pea group? 🚴🏼♂️

No, but I have a NordicTrack treadmill which I love with the ifit app. I don't love cycling and I had wanted a Peleton treadmill except they weren't for sale due to the safety issues. But the Ifit app has a lot going for it

I have a NordicTrack S22i - iFit is FANTASTIC> I wouldn't trade my bike for anything. It's life changing!

I will say that if you buy a used Peloton and don’t end up loving you likely will not lose much money when you go to resell it.
I got one in March 2020 and love it. Almost have 400 rides. I do feel fitter, but it has not helped me lose any weight! Back at weight watchers for that.

I think Peloton is going to come out with some options that cost much less money. Stay tuned.

I purchased a used one back in the Spring of 2020. I love it! The workouts are great.
I do though need to make it more consistent in my life.

I'm a big fan of my IC4 and use it with the Peloton app extensively, but now that used Pelotons are readily available, I'd probably go that route. When I bought my IC4 (at the very beginning of covid lockdown), a new Peloton was roughly 3x the price of the IC4, the wait was long, used ones were selling at a premium, and I wasn't sure if spinning was something I'd stick with. I don't regret the purchase at all and am not pining for a Peloton, but if you can get a lightly used Peloton for close to the price of a new IC4, go for it.

Thank you! Do you really need 9 ft ceilings? I may be screwed there😩

Thank you! Do you really need 9 ft ceilings? I may be screwed there😩 I’ve only ever seen a recommendation for 8 ft ceilings. I don’t think you need 9 feet. I know some people who have them in basements with 7 ft ceilings and they make it work.

Thank you! Do you really need 9 ft ceilings? I may be screwed there😩 I would be more concerned with the area on the left and right sides. I have mine against the wall, and I have to make some adjustments during arms classes. I think my ceiling is 9 feet, and i've never come anywhere near that (i'm 5'7" with long arms).

My ceiling is 9 feet and it never occurred to me that it was an issue.

Fingers crossed she holds it Once you get your bike call Peloton and get tech support to walk you through how to delete and set up your account. I did that and it was a breeze. I did try first to do it on my own and for whatever reason I had glitches in it.

I just bought an Echelon GT from Target to use with the Peloton app, but in the Peloton groups it sounds like buying a used one is good as long as the price is decent. I would make sure you are getting a good enough deal on it with their sale prices. You also wouldn't have a warranty.
Last week people said that the IC4 was on sale at Target and Amazon. It doesn't work well with my height, though, which is why I chose the Echelon.

Also, in case you aren't aware, the cost of the app that you use if you don't have the Peloton bike is $12.99 a month, while the app that you use if you do have the Peloton bike is $39.99. So that is something to consider if you haven't already.

I am getting the bike plus for $1800 includes my size shoes, mat, weights, extra seat and extra pedals. She said she used it less than 20 times. Hopefully i can see that on the screen. Is that a good price?

No opinion on if you have a good deal or not (though, all the accessories add up so fast!), just wanted to say welcome to the club! I have a Peloton and haven't been using it as I should. Hoping the new year gets me going again. Make sure you join the 2Peas hashtag so we can cheer each other on.

Kinda feel like I’m missing a step not buying it new but definitely like the lower price

LOL But I have the weights, a bike mat (actually, mine came from Academy because they were out of stock when I got mine), and cleats. I also have yoga blocks and yoga mat that I already owned. If I were you, I would buy the bike and then go through some classes to see what you would actually use.

I don’t bother with one. I’m wondering why they have an extra seat and extra pedals - along with why selling a bike+ for a low amount… The reason for the price difference in monthly membership with app vs bike is the 39.99 gives you the metrics of your ride on the screen. The app won’t do that.

Ladies….. Pealoton…….group for us needs to be created! I can’t ride now as I’ve fractured both elbows. So I’m off for quite awhile. I think we should have a group post of times when we ride.
Whatcha think? This may be the motivation I need to kick my sorry butt back onto the bike.

What happened to your elbows??

It jammed/fractured my elbows. I have to keep my arms moving. I don’t have strength back yet. My right is worse than my left. So I’m working on getting them moving, but no pressure allowed at this point.
