NO SPOILERS!!!!!!š
I downloaded it to my Kindle yesterday. It's the first digital book I've ever paid for (a whopping $16, big whoop).
I've waited so long for the next book in this series, and although I would normally wait until I could borrow it from the library, life has recently shown me we are not guaranteed tomorrows.
I'm really liking it so far.

I am! I was going to read MOBY, but gave in yesterday afternoon and started Bees. We bought the Kindle book and the audio book because my husband prefers audio and I prefer reading. Did you "attend" Diana's virtual event on Monday? They played an excerpt from the audio book read by Davina Porter, Diana talked about writing the book, answered some viewer questions, and there was an awkward cooking segment with poor audio with the woman who writes the Outlander cookbooks. I don't know that it was the most fascinating event as Diana seemed really stiff and the woman from her publisher was really excited to be there, but it was interesting and informative. This is the link. Hopefully it works for everyone. I had to sign up for the event but it was free, so I don't think I'm stepping on anyones toes.

I got it yesterday (I think I preordered it in January?) and I'm going to finish the book I'm reading and get started! I think I'll skip my tradition of reading all the others before reading the new one - that is starting to take some serious chunks of time LOL! So looking forward to visting with my favorite characters again!

Always looking for a good book. What series is this?

It's the Outlander series.
I'll be honest. I bought the book before this one....what is it? and didn't read it, because I was watching the TV show. I did try and re-read the 1st book, and I hated it!! yikes!! But I have hopes for the older books. IDK, there was just something about her writing that wasn't jiving with me. I do want to read that last one I wrote, and maybe this new one.

I do want to read that last one I wrote, and maybe this new one. Written In My Own Heartās Blood (MOBY) in the 8th book. Bees is the 9th. It got shortened to MOBY because MOHB sounds like Moby (as in MOBY Dick, another huge book). I canāt pick them up in the middle of the series. Itās too hard to remember all the characters and details from the previous books. Iām reading Bees because I just canāt help myself, even through Iām only half way through MOBY. Iāll reread it at some pointāI have plenty of time as there are 7 years between these last two books.

Always looking for a good book. What series is this? Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Itās a series of 10 giant books with 10 or so other novellas furthering the story. Nine (ābigā) books have been written and the 10th book has been started. Thereās been 7 years between books 8 & 9, so you have plenty of time to read them all! Thereās also a tv series on Starz. I know Amazon has Starz promotion right now for $.99 a month for two months.

Oh, I've read all the books, up until that last one. But now that I'm looking. I think I stopped at An Echo in the Bone. So I'm 2 behind, right? I was planning on re-reading the whole series, but when I read the 1st one, and hated it, I decided not too. ha.

Amazon delivered it yesterday. I admit I may have opened the box and caressed the book a little-I've waited so long for it to be released! I'm in the middle of re-reading MOBY and I'm torn between finishing that and starting Bees. I remember how MOBY ended but I need a refresher for the rest of the book. Maybe I'll read the synopsis online and then start Bees.

I liked the show but havenāt read the books. How do they compare? I think I did try to read/listen to the first one years ago before watching the show, and was really confused by the characters and places. But that may have been more of an audio thing. I have problems with that with some books.

It's been so long since the last one (MOBY) that I've forgotten what happened in MOBY. Because of that I've decided to go back to what I remember last happening which turned out to be the beginning of book number 7-A Breath of Snow and Ashes and reread this one, then reread MOBY before starting on Bees the new book that was released yesterday. I think by doing it this way I'll enjoy Bees much more.
Yesterday on Facebook I found out that the Starz series will begin again in March and the series will begin covering A Breath of Snow and Ashes so I'll be right on time.
I was going to start all over with the entire series (I've read through it once and loved it so much) but that would take too long and I'm anxious to read the new one.

I feel the same. I watched the first season of the show with high hopes and it was good, but I really, really enjoyed the books. The show deviated from them too much for me - I was constantly comparing and looking for the differences. I will say that now all the characters look like the show's cast instead of the images I had had for so long in my head.

Always looking for a good book. What series is this? YOU MUST READ THEM IN ORDER. Do not read them out of order!!!!!!! I wish I could just sit and read, but we are hosting turkey day this year so i've been cooking non-stop today and some yesterday. Thursday evening I'm getting wine and pie and reading. Friday, doing NOTHING but reading!

Ugh. I had been looking forward to getting this book for years. The day is marked in my calendar, snacks and meals were planned. A day on the couch in PJs with a comfy blanket it was going to be. Buy my head canāt focus on reading right now; Iām flitting from internet tab to tab to different apps. So I have to stare longingly at it in my Kindle Library and will live vicariously through yāall for the moment!

Is it historically accurate? I love historical fiction as long as the big events portrayed are historically accurate as to time and jist of events The author is pretty good about following recorded history. Itās coving the time during the revolutionary war right now, so battle places, dates, people etc are accurate. But she might take some poetic license on how the book characters interact with the historical people.

I was planning on re-reading the whole series, but when I read the 1st one, and hated it, I decided not too. ha. Hereās the Reading order. You asked about the showāyes, the last book covered was The Fiery Cross. But they are begging and borrowing from the books now. A major event of book 6 was moved to season 5 and season 6 will cover a major plot line in book 5. At first it seemed odd, but if you look at the outline of season 6 (you can tell because the book 5 characters are on IMDB as being in season 6 and weāve seen still photos of the characters), it makes sense.
