I haven't been able to watch any of the coverage here. I do have a question though, is the reason that Harry & Meghan watched from a different place because of their "stepping down"? I guess I just thought they'd still be allowed to be with the family at such events. They are ‘with them’ but not in the spotlight. They didn’t want to be front and centre so they were relieved of those duties. It’s thought they flew into a small airport to avoid a big to-do and they’ve managed to stay pretty much out of sight so far, although they can be seen through the windows in a few of the pictures @dottyscrapper linked.

They watched from a different building. But they will not be standing with "senior royals" at public functions.

I guess I just thought they'd still be allowed to be with the family at such events. It was announced months ago that only the working Royals would be on the balcony. As gar said, they are there, inside, as are probably a few more of the family. The young girls at the window with Prince George and Princess Charlotte are Princess Anne's grandchildren. I would imagine that Peter Phillips as well as Zara and the two York Princesses are also there, inside.

I’ve been sick with some stupid non-COVID virus that comes with a hacking cough. I have not been sleeping much, so was up at 4:30a RARING TO WATCH! Loved how feisty the carriage horse was pulling Camilla, Catherine and the kids. I had to get ready and go to work after the flyover so haven’t seen anything since then. I’m really happy I got to watch in real time.
I was stationed in England in the 80’s and went to the Trooping in 1986. Have some very blurry pictures if Diana and the Queen Mum in the carriage and The Queen on horseback. What I really remember about the day is how god awful hot it was. I just realized that was the last year the Queen attended on horseback.

There are some lovely photos in this link linkI know Princess Ann is an excellent horsewoman but it still takes a bit of guts to ride in that parade at her age with all the crowds lining the Mall. Prince Charles too. Thanks for sharing. Everyone looked so great. I loved both the Queen’s and Kate’s outfits.

Those little girls were probably wondering who that strange lady was telling them to be quiet in the middle of a very loud celebration with a parade & cheering and planes flying overhead.
I'm with Louis though, I hate those flyovers, they go right over my place every year at the Grand Prix and I hate it. They are so loud and it feels like my windows are about to shatter.
Kate looked stunning as usual...wearing some of Diana's sapphires.

Prince Louis steals the show... BBC![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) like his father, a page boy at a wedding - was it Andrew to Sarah? - wearing a sailor suit and pulling tongues at the bridesmaids!

DS23 is LOLing at Prince Louis and commenting that he really didn't need to learn all the manners we used to jokingly say he had to learn in case he ever was invited to visit the Queen. I've heard she won't be attending tomorrow's events because discomfort today.

All the royal family apart from the Queen (and William, Charles and Anne, who were on horseback) watched the Trooping of the Colour from a balcony on Horse Guards Parade, they were all together, including Harry and Megan. Later the working royals were on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the planes fly by.

She will attend when she can but I think Charles will largely be doing her public duties from now on. As an article I read yesterday said ‘An unspoken transition has begun’ www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61645993.amp

It was all lovely. I really enjoyed it.
ETA: we have our street party this afternoon and I've finished crocheting the bunting to decorate our fence. It's a beautiful day to keep celebrating.

I'm watching the service at Westminster now. Well, the arrivals for the service which hasn't actually started yet. The big speculation among some of the commentators is whether or not George and Charlotte will be there. lol. (I think they're assuming Louis is not invited, haha). It's sad that the Queen won't be there. A friend was wondering why the queen couldn't be in a wheelchair. I thought maybe that wasn't "queenly". ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/OrTI4SBmZ2ZYSFv6ag4f.jpg) . Like how President Roosevelt didn't want to be seen in the wheelchair...not presidential.

I would guess the same thing - she wouldn’t want to be seen looking less than ‘strong’ because people make assumptions and wrongly correlate a failing body with a failing mind.

It's possible that sitting for long periods is no fun either, we don't know exactly what the issue is but when I have back pain lying down and taking pressure of my bones is preferable to sitting. And she knows there would be a camera trained on her all the time and it would be hard to mask any pain or discomfort or even get up and reposition herself without endless discussion in the media.

So Sky News is now just doing chit chat and not showing the actual service in the church. Is it not being broadcast? If it is how can I watch it?

Exactly - the gossip would be rife. It's sad that she has to miss it, especially as her faith is very strong but this quote from that BBC report says it all and is so very true:

Anyone watching the service notice that Prince Harry asked Eugenie and Beatrice to move for them to sit down? Things like that don’t happen at Royal events, things usually run so smoothly.

Move seats or move up to make room? I didn’t see it. Curious! more of the latter I think. It was a very quick gesture and probably easier than to move along the row in front of everyone else that was already seated. I was surprised though as it doesn't usually happen.

I thought Beatrice looks especially nice in that shade of blue, and I really liked her makeup, much more understated than I've seen before. And I'm a sucker for a man in a tailcoat!
