What an amazing morning watching the Trooping of the Colour! If there’s one thing we are good at it’s pomp and ceremony! It was lovely to see the Queen on the balcony, she looked lovely in pale blue and her great grandchildren were so cute.
ETA. I’ve changed the title so that this thread can extend beyond the jubilee. Although sadly I don’t think we have any great Royal events coming up anytime soon. But the Cambridge’s moving to Windsor is an interesting move.

I have been watching this and it is fabulous. I really loved seeing the Queen chatting to little Prince Louis during the fly past.

It made me feel patriotic too. I’m jealous that you live near an RAF base, I love an air show.

I've been watching off and on while I worked out. I recorded it so I can go back and watch from the beginning.

I've been watching all morning. Sky News on YouTube played the whole thing live. It's still on actually, but now it's just some people talking. Not sure if there's any more pomp to come. I loved seeing it all, but I especially love the queen. And her smile said it all. One of the British commentators said about Charlotte (from when she was in the carriage) "her waving is spot on". lol.

Coverage started at 4am here, so I recorded it and will watch later. I did take a peek when I got up and saw them watching the flyover on the balcony. It was so sweet seeing Louis chatting with the queen. She is clearly in the Cambridge kids lives and a familiar and comfortable figure to them. Now unfortunately there is no Bank Holiday in America and off to work I go!

It was wonderful and so uplifting. I'm very patriotic anyhow but even more so today. It was lovely to see the little ones there too. It was certainly quite a spectacle.

I don't know how much coverage there is outside of Britain for the rest of the celebrations but here's the list and timing of events over the week-end.
Thursday evening 9.25pm – Members of the royal family arrive to watch the lighting of the principal beacon at the palace – a 21-metre tall Tree of Trees sculpture. There are other beacons all over Britain being lit at the same time. ETA - More than 1,500 beacons will be lit throughout the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories and the Commonwealth to mark the Platinum Jubilee.
Friday June 3
11am – The royal family begin to arrive at the service of thanksgiving in St Paul’s Cathedral.
12.25pm – Members of the royal family afterwards attend a Guildhall reception hosted by the Lord Mayor of London.
Saturday June 4
5.30pm – The Epsom Derby race takes place. The Queen and her family are expected to head to the racecourse on Derby Day, where the monarch is due to be greeted with a guard of honour.
7.40pm – Members of the royal family arrive at the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace concert.
8pm-10.30pm – The open-air concert in front of the palace – featuring stars including Queen + Adam Lambert, Alicia Keys, Duran Duran and Diana Ross – is broadcast live on BBC One.
Sunday June 5
Street parties and Big Jubilee Lunches are staged across the country throughout Sunday.
2.30pm-5pm – The Jubilee Pageant takes place in central London, with a 3km carnival procession featuring a cast of thousands including puppets, celebrities and tributes to the seven decades of the Queen’s reign. It will move down The Mall and past the palace, with the finale featuring a performance by Ed Sheeran and the singing of the national anthem.

Tonight's beacon lighting works out well for us east coast USA folks because you're 5 hours ahead of us. I'll tune into that for sure.

I just read that the sailor suit that Prince Louis was wearing was the same one Prince William wore to a previous Trooping of the Colour. If that's true, isn't it cute?!

I’m looking forward to the celebration that are to come. I feel that after the awful 2 years we’ve had with Covid, and how the government are letting us down, the Queen is the one constant in our lives.

I agree joelise. As a side note, Prince Andrew has covid apparently- couldn’t happen to a nicer guy 😏

I agree joelise . As a side note, Prince Andrew has covid apparently- couldn’t happen to a nicer guy 😏 How very convenient for him, to have a 'proper' excuse not to attend anything.

A friend of ours is playing in a pipe and drum celebration at Colonial Williamsburg this evening and we're planning to go and sweat in 90-degree heat and celebrate the Queen!

Happy to ditch Prince Andrew, happy to stop talking about Megan! I love our Queen. She has been such a good ambassador to our country, I think we need the monarchy and I think Prince William and Catherine are great ambassadors to take our country further.

There are some lovely photos in this link linkI know Princess Ann is an excellent horsewoman but it still takes a bit of guts to ride in that parade at her age with all the crowds lining the Mall. Prince Charles too.

Yes I thought that about the horse riding. I know they’re more than competent but there was obviously tremendous noise from the crowd.

I haven't been able to watch any of the coverage here. I do have a question though, is the reason that Harry & Meghan watched from a different place because of their "stepping down"? I guess I just thought they'd still be allowed to be with the family at such events.
