To be visually confronted by Christmas stuff in July.
My Costco has started putting out their Christmas decorations for sale and I just don't get it. Christmas decorations in July do not make me feel warm and fuzzy. All it does is make me anxious about all that is left to do to simply get ready for school.

I have already done a bunch of Christmas shopping already. My kids and husband have birthdays around Christmas and it is just way too much shopping, so I started doing it during the Prime sales and have kept going. I am pretty much done shopping for my December 19 birthday girl. As soon as she goes off to college I am going to wrap it all. This is very unusual for me.
I don't need to see Christmas trees in stores either.

I pick up Christmas gifts throughout the year - especially on Prime Day. 😀
I just can't cope gracefully with having to maneuver around Christmas decorations in the stores in July.
Yes, everyone can start calling me The Grinch. 😂

That is just ludicrous. Read the room people. It's summertime. Decorating for Christmas after Thanksgiving makes it more special. The commercialization ruins the spirit of the holiday. I just want to tell retailers not to worry. People aren't going to forget to Christmas shop.

I must admit I detest mentions or references to Christmas before about November but especially in mid summer it’s just awful! Always rushing towards the next thing, the next season, wishing time to fly by and I hate it.

I was shopping at my local Costco today (in Calgary) ... no Christmas anything yet! Of course I went for three things and spent over $200

Could these be items that didn't get delivered in time for last Christmas? So far, the only Christmas in July things I'm seeing are from scrapbooking companies.

Even as a kid, I stopped for Christmas all year round!
I haven't for a long time, but do pick up things I know people would want and of course, shop for stockings all year..

Ughhhhhhhhhhhh! When we were young the Christmas season began AFTER Thanksgiving. It was nice. They keep pushing it now. It was all seen along with Halloween, and now even sooner. This is silly. It's not even Labor Day. Can't we fully celebrate each Holiday without being bombarded with Christmas? Makes it much less special IMO.

I am prepared to see that kind of stuff in craft stores so crafters can get ahead for the holiday rush. But Costco? I’d be overwhelmed too. It’s July!

I won't tell you that I was just Christmas tree shopping then. I have about half my shopping done already, and this is the first year we will be home in our new house for the holidays, so I am looking forward to decorating. But all in good time. Right now, I'm just enjoying the heat. I'm in no rush for the cold weather at all.

Could these be items that didn't get delivered in time for last Christmas? Yes, according to what I have been reading, this is the case. Which is understandable - there were shipping issues galore. That said, just because they came in in July doesn't mean that they have to be put out in July. None of Costco's Christmas stuff ever goes on clearance (at least not in NoVA), and there is always a lot still on the shelves when Christmas hits, so clearly some of it goes to a warehouse somewhere to be brought out again. Or is sold to a discounter/clearance house.

Yes, everyone can start calling me The Grinch. 😂 Nope, I completely agree! Seeing Christmas stuff this early depresses me AND makes me *HATE* the commercialization of Christmas even more than I already do!

Don’t they normally put out stuff early. Then again this does seem early for them. Now seems about right for Halloween stuff there. Maybe it is from last year. I only went in a few time last year but don’t remember there not being a lot of Christmas stuff. I guess time will tell or ask someone at the store that would know.

But they are having to store other merchandise which could go where the Christmas stuff is going now. It isn't as though there was a ton of empty floor space to begin with that they needed to fill up.

I can deal with the crafty Christmas in July things, since we need to get a jump on making cards or craft fair items. But I want a break between Christmas in July and Halloween, please.

We have friends that had a Christmas in July last weekend with their young dd’s. They wore Christmas pj’s, watched Hallmark Christmas movies and did holiday baking. I could get behind the baking part. 😂

It’s the retail world, as shelves/aisles empty from one seasonal category they need to fill it with the next. I think many retailers are not buying as much so therefore they sell thru more of the stock and do not end up with a bunch of stuff to mark down. I can remember having to fill a few aisles with new for sale big 32g trash cans or actually putting lids on 16g totes to fill aisles temporarily as we condensed what was left of the current ‘seasonal’ category. We for sure could not go into a weekend with an empty aisles.

During the evening news tonight, there was an ad for buying Christmas gift cards for a massage chain. Call me a cynical Grinch but it makes me think they have a cash flow problem now if they are advertising this early.

Hobby Lobby starts with Christmas in late May. They said they start with Christmas crafts in May because that is when some people have time to do them. Okay, that is fair. I was there today and they were putting out tubs and tubs of ornaments. They still had some in February, so that makes 2 months out of the year they do not have Christmas stuff in their store. Last year they didn't "do" Halloween. Humph.
