Hi everyone! I have no plans for most of the day ... and that's how I like it! My mum is coming over for dinner ... no idea yet what we are having ... my Hello Fresh box will be delivered today and I can't remember what I ordered ... we'll decide what we want once we see what's in the box ... it will be like Christmas! I have no idea how the house inspection went yesterday ... They ran my jetted tub for the first time in about 15 years so now I have a gross tub to clean ... I'll leave you to imagine the stuff that came out of those jets . At least they know that it still works! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... the weekend always goes too fast ... my school actually does have an annoyingly short lunch break ... less than 40 minutes ... add to that the fact that I have to supervise hallways for part of the lunch break on two days a week What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Eww...yuck on the tub leannec! And your meme is so, so true. I was going to work today but I am just so tired. Like super tired. We didn't get home until 2 am last night and that is way beyond my 9pm bedtime. Seriously why do they start concerts so late. Most of the crowd was over 50 and Eric Clapton is 77, I'm sure everyone would have been fine with a 4pm dinner and a 5pm show. 😂 The concert was amazing. He is just so gifted. He looked like an old man, can anyone say bright white new balance sneakers? Haha. Reminded me of my dad. But seriously the man can still play every bit as amazing as he did in his youth. I shed a few tears during River of Tears. It made me think of Esther. That was a bucket list concert for sure. Today I'm going to crochet I think if I can ever get myself up and moving. Did I mention I was tired? Anyway, Jeremy thinks I can scrounge in the fridge for dinner. I'm not sure what he's expecting me to find. But he really doesn't want to go to the store. I'm going to take bets right now on the likelihood we will order pizza. Ha!

I have had a fairly lazy day. I was in bed early and slept well, waking a bit after 7. I decided against going to church, as I still have a really bad cough after my bout of tonsillitis last week, so I thought it better to stay in. I did go out for a walk after lunch, when it warmed up a bit and stopped raining. Apart from that, I have just been watching TV - some of the footage of the Queen’s final journey from Balmoral, then football - and reading. Not even much knitting as I am still feeling a bit tired.
Dinner tonight is BBQ ribs. Not sure what sides - I am sure DH has it figured out.

Seriously why do they start concerts so late. They have lived this lifestyle since the 70's! Oh, and Eric Clapton can sleep all day today if he wants I bet Glad he was excellent ... I'm not into his music but I admire his talent!

I slept in this morning as the effects of my Moderna booster took over my body. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be back to normal. I think we're having pork chops and baked yams for dinner.

I'm not into his music but I admire his talent! We bought tshirts and mine has the concert dates on the back. We all giggled a little that he needs a week of recovery now between shows. I can see it. He's an old man! It will take me at least two days to recover from being up that late. 🤣

jeremysgirl sounds like it was a fun convert. I have trouble doing late nights, at 9pm I am nodding away. Hubby wants to enjoy a movie together and I am fast asleep It's been a while since I had a Sunday off so I am just enjoying the day. For dinner we are having yesterday's leftovers.

Happy Sunday! I am staying home today. My foot is killing me. I overdid it yesterday. I am co-chair for our Relay For Life(American Cancer Society) event. We had it yesterday and I was gone from 9:00am-9pm. I’m going to watch football and read. Keep my foot up and ice it. Sorry leannec but I’m laughing at what the inspectors face was when they turned on the tub. I’m sure they’ve seen muuuuch worse. DH and I saw Elton John back in March jeremysgirl. I feel the same way about him. He’s now an old man but he sure can still perform. You’re back home sueg? I think we’ll have meatloaf for dinner. Have a great Sunday, ladies!

Elton John would definitely have been a great show stormsts. He put on such amazing shows his entire career that would have been a bucket list one too.

It was an awesome show jeremysgirl. DH is a huge fan. He has seen him at least 6 times, this was my third concert of his. Our kids bought us the tickets for Christmas 2018 for a 2019 show. He had to cancel that show last minute( as we were walking out the door we found out). Then 2020 hit so this was the first he could get it rescheduled. The kids told us they bought the insurance in case he died. We laughed but as the years went by it did cross our mind that we might never see him perform again.

Happy Sunday everyone!
I haven't checked in for a few days. Life has been busy. But I have had some interesting dinner experiences. We were invited to our Ukrainian neighbors dinner memorial for their father that I mentioned passed away earlier in the week. It was a true Ukrainian dinner, yummy! Complete with Borscht and Vodka toasts to the father. It was a heartwarming, very enjoyable dinner.
Last evening I had dinner at a friends house, she has numerous food allergies and eats super clean. She made beyond beef with veggies over rice noodles. It was surprisingly good. I'm married to a cattle rancher, I wouldn't dare suggest this for our table, but I'm glad I tried it.
Today I'm having a quiet day, having my nails done this afternoon and start to prep for my 3 week trip to Indiana in a few days. Dinner will be a flatbread from my Daily Harvest box.
Wishing everyone a great day!!

Yes. I left Australia late Friday evening their time, and landed in Munich just before 2pm local time yesterday. I managed to stay awake until a decent time before going to bed last night, as I know it helps me get over the jet lag more quickly. The three weeks away just flew by, and I am going to miss my dear girls until we go back at Christmas.

leannec - Lazy days are the best days! jeremysgirl - Sounds like a great time. Except for one concert, every concert I've gone to was with one of my parents. My first concert was Jefferson Airplane when I was 16 and my dad was my dad was 54 (holy crap, that was half my life ago). bklyngal62 - Enjoy your day off. We live on leftovers. stormsts - Mmmm. I love meatloaf. austnscrapaddict - All of that sounds tasty! karenlou - I made bolognese last week. Super tasty. DH said he is craving ground beef and gravy. I don't even know how to start to think about making something like that. sueg - So cute! Glad you had a good time. This week's dinner is sausage and shells (the same recipe from a few weeks ago). I'm taking tomorrow off of work and would usually make it then, but I decided to chock tomorrow full of appointments: dexascan to check bone health, annual wellness visit, and the dermatologist. Hoping to stop in at Joann's and Michael's between the last 2. Wishing you all a great week!

rymeswithpurple that's awesome about going to concerts with your parents. My parents were never really into music. Not the way me and my sister are. I've seen so many great shows. I am always up for a concert. Live music just makes my soul sing from seeing the symphony to jazz to blues to rock and roll. The only kind of music I don't like is country. Bleh. That whining is not music.

sueg , those are just beautiful photos. Your granddaughters are adorable. No one can compare to your grandmother. They're so lucky. I hope your cough fades, quickly. stormsts , my bff went to the Elton John Farewell Tour which will be going on for a long time, I'm sure. He said it was amazing. We'd seen Elton John together several years ago and that was a really good concert. I want to see this one. Were it up to me, concerts would start at 9am, so that bedtime could still be 9pm. Glad you enjoyed the concert jeremysgirl . Rest well today. Pizza sounds like a very good plan.
austnscrapaddict, You've had some really yummy and interesting meals, lately. Enjoy your manicure and don't stress over packing. They'll have whatever you forget in Indiana. leannec , it's a bummer that you have to clean the tub after the inspection.
I'm still having a tiny reaction from my booster. I'll watch football, pick up groceries and rest. Still doing cutter research, too. Dinner is Trader Joe's Teriyaki chicken, steamed rice and salad w/special salad dressing from one of our favorite places in another area.
Enjoy a happy, easy day, my lovelies.

We’re having meatballs and sauce with spaghetti. I meant to get a spaghetti squash at the grocery store but I had a 6 year old distracting me every other second!! I’ll have salad as well. rymeswithpurple hamburger gravy is a favorite of mine…total comfort food over mashed potatoes with a side of peas! I brown hamburger meat with onion and seasoning (salt, pepper and garlic powder), when it’s cooked through sprinkle flour into the pan stirring until the fat is absorbed (I used 85/15 or 90/10 ground beef so it’s not too fatty). Then slowly add beef broth, stirring as you add it, until you get the consistency you want. I usually use a browning sauce like Gravy Master or Kitchen Bouquet) to add a bit more flavor.

leannec, it's a bummer that you have to clean the tub after the inspection. Ya, I'm not happy about it! The tub is huge so cleaning it is not fun ... another reason why the jets had not been used in 15 years!

KelleeM , sadly, I have to boo you. Peas are a horrible, awful creation that no none should be forced to eat. It's a decades long hate relationship that goes back to childhood. Yet, I love snap peas. Go figure! Ods shares my disdain. I was the kid who swallowed one pea w/a full glass of milk. As an adult I would eat them in order to make them seem normal for my kids. Yds loves them. Ods would rather eat foil. My sister used to love to mix her peas and mashed potatoes together? How?

Maybe we'll have that for dinner one Saturday instead of our go-to steak and sweet potato meal ($16 for 2 slim cut chuck steaks and $1 for 2 sweet potatoes are a dinner that's hard to beat).
