Hi everyone! Today I have nothing but work to do! It's crazy how much administrative stuff teachers are expected to do ... and it never ends ... once this stuff is complete, they will throw something else at us! Here is what I posted on Facebook today because I've been procrastinating ... I haven't heard anything about my home inspection ... I guess no news is good news! Ex is taking me to see a couple of condos after work on Monday! My Hello Fresh box was JUST delivered! I think I'll invite my mum over for dinner and we will have "Dilly Chicken with Creamy Potato Salad". What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Itâs cold and rainy here in western New York today. I got home a short while ago from my scrapbooking weekend. I did get a lot of things accomplished but Iâve been going to this weekend specifically for eight years and I think Iâm done. Too many whiners, the accommodations really are not that great and Iâm tired of coming home exhausted because I canât sleep. Oh well I have a year to think about it.
Dinner is going to be homemade pasta sauce with some ground beef and homemade pasta but Iâm not sure which one yet. I need to check the freezer. I will be sitting in front of the TV watching the Buffalo Bills play the Miami Dolphins with my fingers crossed that the bills win although lots of injuries this week so weâll see

Weâre having grilled steak tips, corn on the cob and salad.
I have pork chili in the crockpot using the WW recipe my sister posted about but my store didnât have salsa verde so Iâm improvising. It will be lunch this week for myself and DS.
Iâm currently watching DS clean out a big closet in my kitchen then weâre going out to run an errand before I go play with paper for the afternoon.

Another cold rainy day in Munich today. I'm glad we decided to go to the Wiesn yesterday not today - I'd have been freezing in my dirndl!
So just another regular Sunday - Church in the morning, home for lunch. DH went into the office for a couple of hours to get ready for the week, and I started a pot of soup then went for a walk in between rain showers, then did a bit more knitting. After having no enthusiasm for knitting for a week or so after I got home from Australia 2 weeks ago, I have now cast on 3 projects in the past week - today I started a simple sweater in pretty yarn for myself.
Dinner tonight is going to be lasagne.

Good morning leannec . What are you looking for in your condo? How many bedrooms? What are your priorities? How long will it take from first paperwork until you can move in to your new home? Too early for grilling? Have a cup of coffee and come back. I'm excited for you.
christine58, do you have a scrappy friend or more who would do another retreat somewhere else?
KelleeM, Could you please send your ds to my house?
Enjoy your knitting sueg. Mil is still in the hospital and refusing a much needed pacemaker. We have to find out where she will need care if she refuses to have the procedure, because she'll need 24/7 care for life since her heart is so unstable. It's been a wee bit stressful. I'm going w/dh tmw, so I'm resting today. Dinner will probably be tacos. I've not been cooking, yet. Enjoy your day, tribe. Relax, have fun and do your happy dance.

I have been really on the ball today. Apparently my future grandchild is craving some of Granny B's homemade pumpkin muffins. They have finally cooled down and I'm just about to frost them with cream cheese frosting. They will get delivered later with a bunch of baby clothes I've got for the baby too.
I've also just about finished my Halloween decorating. I am bummed because none of my outside lights work. Jeremy has just left for a golf outing. Fingers crossed it doesn't rain. And I am trying to quell my anxiety so I can go to target and the Halloween store for some decor items and lights all by myself. I asked Chloe to go but she has plans with a friend this afternoon. So it's got to be me by myself. Chloe said if I chicken out she will go tomorrow with me.
Last night's dinner was great. And then we sat by the fire. Our friends started to argue. It was just so very uncomfortable. I kept trying to redirect the conversation and Jeremy was drowning himself in YouTube videos. And they just kept right on. They are supposed to go with us camping next month and I'm nervous they will fight like that on the trip. I asked Jeremy last night what we will do if they argue. And he was like we will go for a walk. And if it continues we will ask them to go home. They are driving separate because we don't have enough room for all the camping stuff and them in our truck. Pray for me. I don't want this vacation to be ruined. Jeremy and I get along like bread and butter (according to him.)
Tonight will be rechauffe lasagna.

leannec I'm so excited for you to look at condos! Eek! christine58 I'm so hoping the rain holds off. It rained last night and Jeremy is hoping there's a break in it long enough to do his golf scramble. sueg I'm glad your knitting mojo is back. My crochet mojo is out in full force right now. I want to update the craft thread with the progress I'm making on grandbaby's blanket. scrapmaven I'm praying for your MIL. Peace to all who love her.

Too early for grilling? Have a cup of coffee and come back. I'm excited for you. I am looking for an apartment style condo that is around 900 sq. ft. ... two bedrooms and two bathrooms ... some have dens as well which would be ideal for my piano ... no carpet! ... I don't have cats anymore but I just don't like carpet ... I would prefer S/S appliances and if it is in the budget will replace to that if needed ... underground parking is a must ... space for a table with 6 chairs is a must ... Sigh! This unicorn exists, I know it does! I don't want this vacation to be ruined. Jeremy and I get along like bread and butter (according to him.) Ack! I hope the change of environment will calm your friends down ... at least you have an exit strategy!

Question for the dinner tribe....do you meal plan/prep? I have the hardest time with the planning...How do you know on sunday what you want for dinner on thursday??? Do you have regular meals you rotate through??? I am trying to plan healthy choices, and I really find the planning so very hardđ±đ±đ±

Granny B's homemade pumpkin muffins. Recipe please. I need to make pumpkin muffins. I just finished mixing together 4 lbs of triple mix ( ground beef/veal/pork) for meatballs. I will form and bake the meatballs later today. I really like having food prepped so that dinner is easy. Also going to make hashbrown casserole, but in easy portions to cook in air-fryer. Freeze them and use as needed. Rainy day so I am cross-stitching.

Do you have regular meals you rotate through??? I am trying to plan healthy choices, and I really find the planning so very hardđ±đ±đ± I do a lot of bulk prepping. Living alone and making healthy meals is not fun. Today I am making homemade meatballs from 4 lbs of triple mix. I will also make hashbrown casseroles (smaller portions) and will freeze them to use later. I will grill a bunch of boneless chicken breasts and then slice each breast and put in ziploc & freeze. I brown ground beef and put into ziploc baggies about 1/2 lb, as that is enough for a smaller tacos or nachos. I make smaller quiche and freeze them. Then when I need to prepare a meal, I find what I want and just add a salad or side dish. Less dishes, less work and healthy food.

Happy Sunday morning! I have a bit of time and thought I'd pop in. The mountain of boxes is slowly getting smaller. It's been a bit of a challenge to rearrange what is stored where, but I finally have it sorted. Part of the hold up was waiting on the carpenter to come back and add another row of holes for the shelves below the bottom one. I was unable to reach beyond the front edge of that first shelf prior to that - #shortpersonproblems! Lot's of things being added to the donation pile as I unbox.
DH plans to crank up the grill this afternoon so that will be dinner. Tenderloin tips and sliders will be on the grill. I'll add a tossed salad to that and call it a meal!

Super easy quiltz. Add one can of pumpkin, 3/4 c of water to a spice cake mix. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. My kids like when I frost them with homemade cream cheese frosting. If I'm not mistaken that muffin recipe is an old weight watchers recipe that my mom used to make all the time to give herself a sweet treat when she was on a diet. Without the frosting, of course.

scrapmaven, I missed what happened to land your MIL in the hospital. But I just wanted to say, my mom had a pacemaker implanted last month (at age 93) and the procedure was nothing. She also started feeling better, more energetic, right away. I hope your MIL comes around to the idea. christine58, I avoid crops in ârusticâ settings. I donât want to share a room with strangers, sleep in a bunk bed, or not have a bathroom to myself. karenlou, I donât really meal plan, beyond âI want soup this weekâ or âI need to use that roast in the freezer.â But once I know what Iâm making, I do try to do some prep in advance. It helps me actually get dinner on the table if I brown the ground beef in the AM, or start the sauce the day before, that sort of thing. Otherwise, suddenly itâs 30 minutes till dinner and I have to do everything from scratch? That just ends up turning into fast food or scrambled eggs. oh yeah, dinner. No idea, but thereâs still part of a Costco chicken, so maybe Iâll make soup.

This place we go to isnât very rustic but itâs a religious kind of camp retreat. Thereâs two people to a room and I was room with my very good friend. But the beds suck. Theyâre single beds and theyâre not very comfortable. There is stupid ass drama this time too that couldâve been avoided with a little bit of kindness. For the amount of money that we spend to do this for four days itâs just gotten to the point that itâs not worth it

Hello all. Iâve been having a great weekend- we have been having beautiful weather and I am squeaking every inch of enjoyment out of it while it lasts. Yesterday on my walk there was a table out on the road filled with huge gorgeous dahlias- different types and colors in individual buckets with a sign to help yourself to a free bouquet of 10 stems and curtesy of âflower shop.â I made myself an amazing bouquet and carried the rest of my walk home and people saw me walk by and everyone commented on the gorgeous bouquet and I directed them where to create their own. My walks in this new neighborhood have been very eventful! I donât remember if I shared here or not but on walks Iâve also gotten a bunch of free flower pots, a brand new kitchen kitchen cupboard base with two giant drawers exactly like what I want for our new house, an invite to a giant party from strangers with live music, and free foods and drinks and new friends. Itâs like the universe is rewarding me for exercising. Lol We are having biscuits and sausage gravy during the football game for dinner. Dh loves it and I have stuff on hand so I donât need to shop, so âsold.â

We left Croatia this morning and are now in the beautiful city of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Got rained on during our guided tour but it couldn't dampen our spirits.
We went to dinner with 2 other couples and 3 of us had beef cheeks. OMG, if was wonderful! Tomorrow we head to Lake Bled and on Wednesday we head to Italy for a week.

Do you have regular meals you rotate through??? I am trying to plan healthy choices, and I really find the planning so very hardđ±đ±đ± Now that I live alone I do not meal prep ... but I didn't do it when we were a family of four either! I totally agree that I don't know on Sunday what I want to eat on Thursday! Back then, I was a SAHM for many years so I would decide in the morning what was for dinner and would shop that day for the ingredients ... I love grocery shopping so that worked for me. Now, I have decided to invest in meal kit boxes for a lot of my food ... I get three dinners for two from Hello Fresh each week ... I cook them up, often inviting my mum over, and they are delicious! I also have gourmet salads delivered that I take to work for lunches ... so freaking good! I hate making salad. So no meal planning for me other than checking off boxes on websites for future deliveries!

I don't have a choice but to plan meals. Groceries are purchased on the weekend when we arent working, so I have to know what we are eating that week. I do keep some "emergency" things in the freezer- leftovers (right now I have smoked pork and steak taco meat). Once dinner is done today, I'll make a ton of meatballs to keep in the freezer. I have 2 pkgs of sauce in the freezer from last year. When those are gone, Ill make more. Those are good for days when plans change or I dont have the energy to cook.
Today we are having corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes.

I spent last night at YDSâs house dog sitting his 2 dogs. It was so quiet and relaxing. The dogs were very well behaved and lots of fun. I read almost a whole book and watched lots of mindless television.
Supper tonight was grilled pork chops, baked potatoes and corn.

Too many whiners, the accommodations really are not that great and Iâm tired of coming home exhausted because I canât sleep. Ugh, that's not a retreat. I have a couple friends that will do shared rooms/twin beds type weekends but I hold firm to the rule I only share a room with someone I married, birthed or have known for 50+ years. And the bed needs to be at least a Queen and is only shared with a spouse. I'd shared with DD, too, if needed but she won't share with me. Mil is still in the hospital and refusing a much needed pacemaker. MIL(89) was so scared and stressed about getting a pacemaker earlier this year but it really was an easy surgery/recovery and there is no way she would have been able to go to Greece this year without it. I hope your MIL will reconsider. Question for the dinner tribe....do you meal plan/prep? I have the hardest time with the planning...How do you know on sunday what you want for dinner on thursday??? Do you have regular meals you rotate through??? I plan about 3 days at a time, reserving the right to change things, so shop at least twice a week. Some of it is regular meals by season (grilled fish, sausages, chicken appear regularly Apr-Oct and soups/casseroles/stuffed things Oct-Mar). Kind of on a weekly basis we will have something around each main carb and change up the protein and vegetables. So I might have salmon/asparagus/rice one week and a chicken/vegetable stir fry with rice the next. Same with pasta. One week it might be lasagne and the next sausage/kale/zucchini and the next meatballs/marinara. I do write down the next 3-4 meals on a menu chalkboard to remind myself what food is in the house and DS loves to see what the plan is and knows I hate being asked "what's for dinner?". christine58, I avoid crops in ârusticâ settings. I donât want to share a room with strangers, sleep in a bunk bed, or not have a bathroom to myself. I've reached the "I need my own hotel room" stage of weekend events. A group of 8 have rented a fabulous farmhouse for years and we do have to deal with shared bathrooms, but everyone gets their own bedroom. Itâs like the universe is rewarding me for exercising. Lol Love this! What a great way to get to know your new neighborhood. I know I missed a few birthdays, so have to send belated happy birthday wishes to AussieMeg , scrappintoee and smcast ! I'm back from my creative weekend with way more stuff than I took with me. Definitely need to do a bit of organizing to get it all in the office. I've been much more of a card maker the last few years and feel a rekindled desire to get back into scrapbooking. I'm not in the mood to transition back into dinner prep yet and only have to feed DS, so we are getting Thai take out. My favorite meal of the weekend was a tuna/poke nachos (made with deep fried wonton wrappers).

Thank you lucyg and bc2ca. She finally signed the consent form and will get her pacemaker tmw. We're going to have to see what comes next in terms of care. I hope to talk to the doctor tmw. karenlou, on a regular week I try to plan meals and shop accordingly. It makes life so much easier that way. I do not work, but I still like to focus on other stuff and not worry about what's for dinner. That looks so yummy, bc2ca. My favorite part of crops is shopping 'er, unfortunately.

I have just recovered from covid.. and today I cotaught a basic backpacking class..I had this planned for over 5 months. it went well.. I did it outside and wore my mask the whole time.
next weekend is the practical overnight trip.
so dh went off to hang out with a friend all day.. ended up at the bar where my son was working.. with my dil and with his friend.. and didn't bother to tell me they were watching the game and ordering dinner.
so I ran to the store for a few things.. and we are ordering out. I'm tired.
