So it looks like Sephora is offering two advent calendars this year. The first is all Sephora house brand stuff, and the second one is a mix of brands but looks like it's focused mostly on skin care. My 15 YO DD has discovered makeup in a big way and *loves* Sephora. I'm thinking of getting her a calendar but am wondering if anyone with experience has any thoughts on which of these (or another) they'd recommend? I'm leaning toward the Wishing You/house brand calendar simply because there's more makeup and less skin care in it. Wishing You

I think the one with the makeup looks a lot more fun for someone who doesn’t need to be concerned with the signs of aging, just yet! Heck, I like it too!

These are both pretty lackluster to me (a middle aged woman). The favorites I looked at earlier and was disappointed at how many of the days are perfume samples or some lash/brow products. The wishful thinking one is a little nicer (and more budget friendly) but I think I saw two nail lacquers (fine but not for me) and at least three skin care products.
If budget is not a huge concern, you could make a calendar for her. You should be able to find a kit that has bags or boxes and number tags, then you can fill it with stuff you know she likes more (and of course you could do more than makeup then).

I don't care for either of those.
If she likes trying different things, you could sign her up for Ipsy, or another monthly subscription box, or buy the Sephora Hello! monthly box.

Look at the YouTube videos about the Sephora calendars. They’re generally not worth the money. You might have more fun making your own with sample sized items from Sephora and Ulta.

My friend got me a glossy box advent calendar last year and it was fun. It was mostly skin care but some makeup as well. I don’t even want to know what it cost, though. It had a lot of good, full sized products.
I like the Sephora favorites one above, but not sure if a teen would Ike all of the products. I think target has also had some beauty boxes in the past. I’m not sure if they are advent calendars or just holiday sets.

And I would recommend Sephora’s glass nail file as one of the items. Even better if you can find the travel size.
