Don’t come at me, but I already have one up and decorated, and will probably do a second tomorrow. I am doing 6 decorated ones this year, so rather than try to do them all in a short time frame I spread them out, and we will probably do the last (main) one as a family the night before Thanksgiving. I change them up a little each year, so it’s always fun for me to plan out what color combinations/themes will go where. I’m doing a Harry Potter tree for the first time this year, which I’m excited about, but it’s been hard finding ornaments that aren’t really expensive or really cheesy, or both! 😂 How about you? Are you a get it up early or wait until closer to Christmas? Do you decorate it by yourself or with others? Fresh or fake? Minimalist or maximalist? We put our tree up today. We're going to be away at the holidays so I want to be able to enjoy it! What Harry Potter ornaments have you found, Gennifer? Last year I found some cute ones at Pottery Barn. Not cheap, but really cute. My daughter loved them. A lot of it is sort of DIY: I bought white owls (Hedwig) and some mercury glass stags (patronuses). I found some laser-cut Deathly Hallows and Platform 9 3/4 ornaments that I will be painting. I got some printable Daily Prophets that I will teastain, roll up, and tie with twine, a garland made of Hogwarts acceptance letters that I will disassemble and hang, and some golden wings that I am putting on some small gold bulbs to make golden snitches. I splurged a bit on some handmade wooden wands, too, and got a Sorting Hat tree topper. Etsy was a good source for me! I’m also mixing in a bunch of metallic stuff I already have (silver, bronze, champagne, and gold.) Hopefully it ends up feeling upscale magical. 🤞🏻

Bumping up this thread to share my mostly completed Astros tree. I’m still looking for a few more things for it. Don’t judge - I’m not very Pinterest-y.😂 So cute, Merge! Update for me: We now have three up in my house: my bedroom, the family room (the pink tree!), and my 16yo daughter decorated the one in her room today. I cleared some room in my sunroom and set up tree #4, and will likely decorate it tomorrow. That leaves the Harry Potter tree (which I am still waiting on ornament delivery) as the only one to do before we do the last one as a family sometime around Thanksgiving.

My entire house is decorated including my tree as of this past Saturday. We love all the twinkle lights so the sooner the better so we can enjoy it longer!

My DS is a Christmas baby and a total Christmas lover. Starting November 1st I have to hold him back. Wr bought a new tree on Saturday and knew that was game over. We put the tree up last night and then when I got home today from school he had brought all our Christmas decorations inside the house from the garage since he has early release every day. I didn’t get enough time with my fall decor, but he’s off to college next year, so we can do it his way this year!

We put up our main tree about a month ago because DH was having surgery and wouldn’t be able to lift it, but we haven’t decorated it yet. We thought we were going to have to slim down a lot of our decorations because of the surgery but he misunderstood his doctor’s instructions. Yay!
