I’m looking for a new tote bag… I have a couple small ones, and a really large one from a cruise. Looking for a regular sized one, multi use. Will pay a little more for good quality 😊. Please share if you have one you really like! Thanks!
ETA - not leather. I think I will mostly use it when traveling, One example - We mostly travel by rv…. and I bring things for my MIL from the rv to her house. Things I’ve picked up for her - books, craft things, yarn, my DH’s iPad, my kindle, toss in a jacket for me just in case I need it at a restaurant, etc. Things like that. I could just keep using grocery bags, but would like something nice. Thanks!

I love all my LUG bags. You can find them at luglife.com and QVC.com along with Amazon.

What do you plan to use it for? What do you typically need to have with you all the time? What features are you looking for? I have a bunch of different sized totes that I use for specific different things. We have a medium sized tote that perfectly fits our three iPads, chargers and related items and that’s all that bag is ever used for. It’s probably 13”x16”x maybe 5” or so. It’s regular canvas, has longer handles to go over a shoulder with one small zipper pocket on the inside. It was a promotional tote from a conference I attended years ago.
I have another much bigger canvas bag that I always take as one of my carry on bags when I travel. My guess is it’s probably around 24” square and 6-8” deep, has one pocket on the outside and a zipper pocket on the inside. It will hold my laptop in a sleeve, my iPad and chargers, my purse, a sweatshirt, a large plastic envelope with travel documents and lots of other miscellaneous junk. That one was a promotional tote from a scrapbook convention which accounts for the bigger size, it had to hold 12x12 stuff easily. Also the top on this one totally zips closed which is nice for travel when it has to be shoved under a seat or in an overhead bin. The handles are just barely long enough to use as a shoulder bag.
I have a Jansport bag that I use as a weekender for going to the lake cabin. It’s a smaller bag that is shaped more like a duffel, probably 12x18x6 or so, has a mesh water bottle pocket on the end, two longer outside zippered pockets (one with a zipper at the bottom too so it can be opened up and slipped over the handle of a suitcase) and a top zipper. This one also has a longer adjustable strap with a shoulder pad. This one is sized to hold enough casual clothes for 2-3 days, maybe a pair of shoes, etc.
Now that I’ve been getting more into sewing purses and bags, I would probably just make whatever kind of bag I need in whatever size I want. Like the one I recently made to carry around my little 5 lb dog which has a center opening for the dog with a harness clip, a wide crossbody style strap and two outer pockets. In a fun dog print, of course.

I like leather and my favorite tote bags are from Madewell and Fossill. I use them for work and travel. If I was going to the beach though, I would use a canvas tote. I do have an older style Lululemon bag that I love. It is considered a gym bag, but it is stylish enough to travel with.

I like a classic leather tote. I have a black leather Louis Vuitton tote that I have had for years and is perfect. But very expensive. For a less expensive option I like Madewell and Cuyana.

If you are looking for a tote, rather than a large purse type bag, I love my nylon tote bags from LL Bean. They have an internal zippered pouch, zip at the top, and wash to look like new. I use them to haul all sorts of things around.

I love my Vera Bradley backpack for toting items. I'm a social worker that makes home visits. My backpack is cute but very functional to carry my home visit items.

I love all my LUG bags. You can find them at luglife.com and QVC.com along with Amazon. I second LUG bags - they are so durable yet come in so many great colors and sizes so they are still fashionable. I have several different LUG bags.

Have you checked out 31bags? I know it’s a MLM but they have some nice quality bags with great features. I have a bunch of their bags too. I bought DD one of their small duffels about ten years ago and it has held up great. It’s been hauled back and forth to our lake cabin pretty much every weekend for at least 1/2 to 3/4 of every year. The fabric has cleaned up nicely when needed. They have some decent looking totes too. I don’t know any consultants, I just like their bags. I also have about five of their utility totes, I keep three in my car and have a couple that I just use for taking my scrapbooking stuff to retreats, etc. www.mythirtyone.com/us/en/product/b076/commuter-quilted-tote-black

Yes! Thanks for the reminder. I can’t really find a one I like in a price range I like right now. Thinking about buying these instead.
