I wish I could remember, but it was a thread about something you bought that you loved. Someone suggested these Shopping Boxes
Normally I would not spend almost $30 on something I don't "need" and I have so very many reusable shopping bags and totes. But I find that cashiers at WalMart do not want to or cannot use my reusable bags. They are so automated that if I give them a bag that isn't on their spinny thing they can't handle it. And I am overrun with single use plastic bags. Even though I have a cat with litter to clean and numerous small garbage cans to line, still I have been overrun. So I got these and now, if I go to WalMart, I bring 2 of these boxes, folded flat in my cart. At the register, I open the boxes and they sit it on top pf the spin rack and they pack the box. I have severe back pain and I cannot easily bend and twist. When I get home, instead of having to unload numerous bags from my trunk, which is so painful, I can briefly pick one of these up, put in the utility cart I use to bring groceries from my car to my door, and I only do that twice. They hold a lot and I can look into them to see what is in there, rather than searching thru many bags for my perishables, or digging in bags. If you have a big family to shop for, I'm not sure 3 would be enough but for me, I never need more than 2. Just 1 of these holds A LOT. Best of all, in the short time I have owned these I have not brought one more darn plastic bag into my home. SO ... thank you for the suggestion!!!

As a grocery cashier(though I'm in gas station now instead of in store) I can say us cashiers LOVE this type. They are awesome and hold so much

Thanks for enabling me... I decided to go check them out & found a set for $15.I had a $5 gift card sitting in there, so Merry Christmas to me! I'll probably give one to my 19 yr old son who likes to go to Costco so he's not constabtly bringing big boxes home that we have to then stuff in our recycling bin!

We have several of those we bought on sale for $5 at a local grocery store. Each car has one. I use one for taking supplies to a friend's house on craft day. Funny story-checking the receipt after purchasing them, we saw "pocketbook" listed as an item. It took us a few minutes to realize it was the description of the totes

I have 3 but I want more. I use them a lot! Especially when we go to Costco, you never know when they will have cardboard boxes that are sturdy enough to carry stuff.

these are so useful!! I think I bought them from someone's recommendation here, too. elaine 's, maybe?? They're really helpful 1) because they're FLAT on the bottom, and 2) because it seems like cashiers in some stores are trained that the max item # you can put in any plastic bag is ridiculously small (like only 3-4 items). These bags hold a LOT more than most cashiers would typically put into a plastic bag. eta: I also use one as my "library book" bag because it's easier to carry than a typical 'bookbag' shoulder tote bag.

I should have gotten that one. Just FYI the design colors online are VERY dark and IRL they are super bright. I thought I was getting a dark gray and light gray with some pink/peach butterflies. I got a loud pink and purple design of the kind preferred by 11 yr old girls. So I don't like my design. But its ok. I like that the inside is WHITE bc it's a lot easier to see inside. And when I get home, I see most of what I bought. Last night I did self checkout, which is rare, I was buying a lot of cans of cat food so I used the gun to ring them up and then tossed the cans into the box from where I was standing at the cart.

These are also really great for holding items in the back of an suv so they don’t roll around with every turn.

On my screen it was the second to the last set.

We picked ours up at Aldi's for some super cheap price. I love that I can fit so much in each of them. I have become the master packer with those. I can usually get by with three of them for two weeks of shopping for hubby and I. We have gotten rid of all but two reusable grocery bags that we hated and never used because they were just hard to use. I think if more places offered those for purchase more people would be willing to use reusable....

I'm a big fan of these. Have used them for a while. A local grocery store turned me on to them.

I love these too. I had one from my local store for years and then got another. Yes, cashiers love them. I use them on vacation, in the car. I take one when I go to my mom's or sister's for dinner, always bringing a water bottle, slippers, something I have of theirs to give back or something to take home from them.

Thanks for enabling! I just bought a set of 3 for myself and a set of 3 for my DDs.
I've stopped using my reusable shopping bags (unstructured style) and I do recycle the plastic bags, but there are always so many that I still feel bad for using them at all. Our WM recently went to 99% self checkout- which I HATE- and I think these will make that trip just a little bit better.
My youngest DD is 23 and single so she'll get one bag, my oldest DD is 27 and married and I'll give her the other two. I hope they like them.

I am curious about how heavy these get when filled up. Thoughts? I have a wrecked back and neck froom a car accident 33 years ago. If I try hard, I can usually carry 2 regular reusable bags on my "good side" if needed.
Also, can they be swung over a shoulder? I'm short, so I find that some bags drag on the ground if I carry them at my side. So then I have to bend my arm to keep them from dragging which can be tiring. I have to walk up 2 flights of stair to get from our parking garage to my condo.
Thanks for any input you can offer!

I always refuse the boxes in Costco as I can't carry them, so I end up repacking into my multiple bags at the car, sometimes in the rain. Guess who's going to order these today!!! Thank you

I'm getting these. Thanks for enabling, and to the OG enabler too!!! I know, we should get a commission!! LOL I could even use these for storage bins, like one on the linene closet floor for extra TP and such I drive a very small car with a hatchback and it is hard to fit all my shopping in the tiny back. I like that I can fit these in there next to each other and also that my bread and eggs can sit across the top easily.

I have to walk up 2 flights of stair to get from our parking garage to my condo. Thanks for any input you can offer! I have very bad back pain now and can barely walk or stand. I use the motorized scooters at WalMart or Target to shop. I cannot walk up stairs carrying anything 2 of these full boxes will fit in the cart basket after youve paid and boxed everything up. In terms of weight, it depends on what you put in them. If you pack one with canned goods and giant bottles of drinks, it will be super heavy. I try and space out my heavy items between them. For me, well the box tends to be heavier than the little grocery bags, bc they just hold more. The plus is, I was bending and twisting multiple times to load bags in and out of my car, which was agony. I use a folding utility cart of the kind used for camping [also a GREAT thing to use to move shopping from my car to my door!!!] to get from my car on the street to the back door of my house and I was having to do multiple bends. With these, I do it only twice. They are going to be heavier than the bags, if you use them. They do have shoulder straps, which I also love.
