What does everyone do for Christmas breakfast? I usually either make homemade biscuits and gravy or homemade cinnamon rolls. The boys and I are trying to come up with a plan for this year.
So we decided on Monkey Bread. We haven’t done it in years. To everyone that makes monkey bread, can I cut up the biscuits and roll in sugar and cinnamon tonight and just put them in the fridge to then bake in the morning? Or will the cinnamon sugar mixture turn syrupy? I could just cut up the biscuits tonight and coat them in the morning.

For many years I’ve done monkey bread. I’m tired of it. Dh likes it. Kids are indifferent. I think this year I’ll do cinnamon rolls from tik tok with the heavy cream.

We usually either do Full English, or scrambled eggs with smoked salmon or sometimes pain au chocolat. Depends if we're on our own or have family here

I usually make a strata with either bacon, ham or sausage. Make the night before, pop in the oven in the morning before we start opening gifts and it's done when we are. Serve with muffins.
But, I'm not feeling much like making it this year. I want keep everything simple. Had the stomach virus last week (first time since 1993 and yikes!). And I still don't have much energy.
I host Christmas dinner, so I don't want to do too much extra work.
Thinking store bought cinnamon rolls and a raspberry danish.

We always do a breakfast casserole (made the night before and popped in the oven while we open gifts), orange rolls and cantelope. Why cantelope, I don't know, but its just one of those traditions that got started and no one remembers why.

My tradition is to make a ham/cheese strata with a buttered cornflake topping, but last year I switched it up just a little, and made this: Ham & cheese hashbrown quicheEveryone loved it and I'll be making it again.

In years we are at my Dad’s, I make Belgian waffles. The batter had to rise, so we don’t have them very often. But I will get it started, and we do gifts while it’s rising.
In years we are at DH’s, it’s whatever FIL makes.

We don't have a set tradition, but we have done the baked french toast, which is nice because you can assemble it the night before.

We do a bagel spread for Christmas breakfast. (bagels, cream cheese, nova, pepperoni, thinly sliced red onion, cucumber, tomatoes, capers)
Mimosa bar too.

If we're not traveling, it's usually just me and my husband at home on Christmas morning. Sometimes I make muffins or scones. This year I found a waffle recipe that sounds easy and yummy and since I got a waffle iron during the pandemic era of buying weird domestic items, I should probably use it. 😄

I often make a breakfast casserole, but I dont have the ingredients for it, so we will have eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast.

I usually do a breakfast casserole, fruit, and different juices.
In my mind I would love to serve eggs, bacon, and waffles. It's just too much work so the casserole it is!

We go to my sister's for a big gathering...we serve scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown casserole, ham and cheese roll ups, overnight french toast, fruit salad, some baked goods plus whatever else anyone brings.

I picked up that stomach virus while visiting my brother for Thanksgiving (thankfully it struck after I got home so I didn't have to wreck his bathroom 🙄) and it absolutely wrung me out. I haven't experienced anything like that in a really long time. Take it easy--I can certainly agree that food doesn't sound good for quite a while afterward! Hope you feel better for Christmas.

We always do something quick and easy Christmas Day as we typically gather with my large extended family for a meal at 1:00. This year I was going to pick up a strawberry cream cheese strudel and my oldest DD reminded me that we always have cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. I did get Cinnabon cinnamon rolls for many Christmas mornings but then they closed all the stores around me. So I have made refrigerator bake and serve cinnamon rolls (in the shape of a christmas tree) for the past couple years. She is very big on tradition so of course she will get her cinnamon rolls.

Our Christmas breakfast tradition is English Tea Cake plus scrambled eggs and bacon. The tea cake recipe is from DH’s aunt, and I have made them for the last 50 years, at least. The recipe makes 4 cakes, and I freeze them and give the extra ones as gifts. They contain candied fruit, raisins, and orange zest in a yeast batter, and are split and a butter/powdered sugar layer inserted. Then heated in oven for serving. We ❤️ them.

We used to have waffles and bacon and raspberries and whipped cream. But I have moved that labour intensive meal to Boxing Day (the 26th). Now we have cinnamon rolls which are baked the night before. Occassionally a baked french toast dish that sits in the fridge over night and then cooks while we are opening gifts. (bread, eggs, milk--sometimes egg nog--ham, cheese). Something like THIS

We do biscuits and gravy every Sunday and will do that. We'll just have mimosas instead of juice or coffee.
We'll still have coffee, just later.

It's just me. I started a tradition of making overnight cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas Day. I found a recipe where you prepare the rolls the night before, let them slow rise in the fridge then make them first thing in the morning. Best things I eat all year, since I only make them Christmas Eve and eat them through the week between Christmas and New Year's day.
