I feel like Im back in 2020. I’ve been wearing a mask every where and avoiding going out to eat until after the holidays. (Pretty sure I got Covid in October from dining out.)
That feeling of confinement is all too familiar.

No I haven't. I am acting pretty much Ike life pre Covid. I'm concerned about the flu at this point but not enough to mask up.

I'm not a big fan of crowds anyway but I have been masking up when out shopping. I don't want to be sick for the Christmas holidays.

Not really since I don’t like to go shopping when it’s busy. So I’ll go first thing instead. Or online!

I decided against one activity because of the crowd but mostly I just haven't had a need to be in any crowds. I've happily shopped from home. I attended another annual event the way I always do. The only place I've worn a mask besides doctor's offices was the drugstore, just because I figured there would be sick people there. That may become a standard precaution for winter.

I work with crowds of people who are inconsistent about mouth covering and hand washing. Since I'm already potentially exposed every day, I don't bother avoiding things I want to do like going to concerts.

I started being more cautious after Thanksgiving bc my brother was scheduled for heart surgery. Masked up for all travel and then hibernated in out AirBNB for 2 days and did Covid testing to ensure we were in the clear before we went to see him. We've only ordered grocery or food for delivery, Everyone who enters the hospital has to wear a mask to protect the patients

I am trying. I work in a school, so it's rather impossible. I am having foot surgery next week, so I have been back to the mask full-time in an effort to stay healthy. I want to have this surgery. I'm wearing the mask when out running errands, too. I don't know how worth it it will be, as I don't believe my dh is wearing his at work or when out and about.
I also masked up full time the week before my daughter got married.

Have you been avoiding crowds pre holiday? No - I have been doing more crowd things then I typically do - it is like we are all making up for lost time or something. I have my flu and COVID vaccines and boosters - I know that isn't a guarantee of staying well, but it does give me a bit of confidence.

I absolutely have. Declined a few parties. I would rather spend the holidays with family than be home sick and quarantined.

We have been avoiding large crowds since Feb 2020.
We have no choice to keep dd safe.
Still wear our masks.
When we are in a crowded outdoor area, we mask up.

No, I've been doing what I need to do. The only place I wear a mask is when I visit my mom at the Nursing Home.

yes -but not especially for the holiday season - I've been avoiding crowds as much as possible and masking in public since March 2020 - I'm beginning to think that IS my new normal.
(I did get Covid in October...from DH)

I hate shopping in crowds. So I did most of my cmas shopping online, OR I shopped smaller boutique small business stores, which arn't as crowded. I hadn't been INside a target in 1 1/2 yrs until about 2 wks ago. I've been getting drive up. Not because I wanted to avoid people, but because they have perfected it so well now, with COVID, that it's so easy to do after work, vs go IN to the store. Esp in the winter. On the other hand. I work in a hospital. Right now we are seeing a surge in COVID, AND influenza A. So everyone take care!

I have never liked crowds. I don't go to ball games. Maybe it's just being in confined crowds, I do enjoy going to the fair and Scrapbook events.

No. I’m acting the same as precovid pretty much. I took Bart into the city just the other day and went to a crowded restaurant.
I did get my flu shot and Covid booster just a couple weeks ago though so hopefully my immunity would be high for the holidays.

I work in 9 different classrooms. Half of the kids are still learning how to think quickly to cover a sneeze or cough. It's gross. I haven't been avoiding people, but I finished all of my shopping, wrapping, and tagging yesterday at 4:20 pm! I still need to plan dinner and get some groceries. I did get my Costco steaks earlier in the week and that parking lot was awful.

It went way back into the food aisles. They had 3 registers open (and 4 self serve)s. By the time I left, they pulled five more people to work the registers.

I have always avoided crowds after Thanksgiving. I joke with SO that the only store I will go to after Thanksgiving is the grocery store. Now, having said that, we went to the mall last weekend. It was crazy. We wore masks. We (personal *we*) have never really stopped wearing mask inside public places. It doesn’t stop us from going anywhere and we are definitely in the minority wearing it. I’ve never done grocery pickup, I’ve always gone inside to shop, even during 2020.

No I haven't. I got my latest booster 3 weeks before Thanksgiving and although I'm usually a homebody I've been running around like crazy getting ready for Christmas. I've even done multiple trips to the mall (which I hate!) because we have a Crate and Barrel store there and a Sephora. I had to pick up new makeup because we had to attend a work party that DH's boss threw for Christmas. I hadn't worn makeup in 3 years because of the pandemic. DH and I went to his company's Christmas party a week ago-it's a small company of about 20 employees plus their spouses. That was the first gathering I've attended in 3 years. It was actually quite lovely and I had a great time. No one wore a mask to that event.
DH caught a cold a few days before that event and I encouraged him to get tested both for Covid and the flu so we'd know how to handle both the party and the holidays. Luckily both tests came out negative (he went to the doctor) and he was told it was the common cold. DS had the same thing a month ago. I've been very lucky and haven't caught a thing. I credit my diet with having a great immune system. It changes your gut biome and that strengthens your immune system. Crossing my fingers I don't catch anything until after the holidays. We are having my parents over for Christmas this year to our house for the first time, and it will be the first time we've gotten together in 3 years for Christmas. They are both 83 and we almost lost my dad this year to sepsis after his knee replacement. We have a lot to celebrate.
I know I probably should have worn a mask during my shopping trips and I did for the first few outings but after awhile (especially when sneezing from allergies) I said to myself, "F it! I got the vaccine. I should be safe. I never get the flu. I'm gonna chance it." It felt so good to feel "normal" again and smile at everyone again.

Nope. In the past couple of weeks we’ve been to a sold out show (SIX!), The Nutcracker (also sold out), Pokémon Regionals (sold out), several malls, arcades, restaurants, museums, and a couple of plays.
We only wear masks if forced to and then take them off when we can get away with it 🤷🏻♀️ The only thing we have been to in more than a year that required masks was the Pokémon Regionals.

Not any more than normal. DH brought a cold home from work snd this is the first time we have been sick in years. I’m not amused. I have been avoiding crowds as I just don’t like them but have been out shopping and a lot of stores granted at 8-11 am mostly toward the early end. Doing curbside when I can to save time but it just doesn’t always work out. Not seeing a lot of masks saw sone a few weeks ago but seeing less this week. I have walked out of a couple stores that were really crowded as no way I wanted to stand in the long checkout lines. I didn’t need anything that bad. I did do most holiday shopping online or through curbside but wanted to look at Target and the craft stores.
We are boosted and have had flu shots and I was hoping to avoid the crud that’s going around but happy it’s not Covid or the flu but I am so over the mucus and cough.

I went to a concert on the 12th and wore an N95 mask. Maybe 2% of the people there were masked. I've seen lots of reports since from fans who caught covid or the flu. I was in the stands, not the GA floor, but I still think it was the right call. I haven't had Christmas with extended family for 2 years, and we are traveling right after Christmas. I had no intention of getting sick and being unable to do those things.

Low key kind of. I have been wearing masks again and staying mostly inside. Its tiresome but the infection rate here is insane. I say low key only because I've been doing it but almost subconsciously, it feels normal this time of year. I did the same kinds of things last winter.

My DD and I went to see Six at the National Theater in August, and we had to wear a mask, theater policy. I purchased tickets for Hadestown in June, same theater, and it mentioned masks again. I assume they'll let us know if they relax the policy. I didn;t mind it tho. DH and I went to see a play in a local community theater, and we wore masks bc the venue is VERY small and intimate, and enclosed. The next night we went to my company party, which was in an industrial space for businesses, no one wore a mask. I was annoyed bc it was my first company party since COVID, and they had a DJ. The DJ was loud. I wanted to talk and catch up with people, but to do so I basically had to be in their face, and read lips or spoke loudly in their ear. I wish they had cut the DJ until after the dinner, my throat was really sore the next day.
