Yes, I came back to report that it’s coming down pretty hard here, too, finally. Still not much wind but I guess it will pick up. ~summer~ And thanks for the reminder, onelasttime . I just plugged in my phone in case the power goes out. It doesn’t usually here, but just in case. I can hear the wind picking up out there as I type. Probably going to be regretting my cavalier attitude soon. I knew there was a lot of rain/wind out there, but then they mentioned on tonight's weather that NOAA was sending the hurricane hunters into that atmospheric river to get information on the storm's strength. That's serious when the hurricane hunters are called in. Take care and stay safe!

My little town had 2.5 inches from the New Years storm but I didn't see any other damage around town. We usually lose power if a squirrel burps so I'm anticipating it going out tomorrow. I don't have a flashlight but I do have plenty of candles. And plenty of blankets to keep me and the cats warm. We are predicted to have rain for pretty much the next week but I'm hoping the next storms won't be as bad as this one is predicted. Do you live in Calaveras County? We lose power because it’s Thursday and sunny. 🤣 No, I'm the East Bay.

I’m central California, in the North. We were told to anticipate winds of 40 mph with gusts up to 70. It’s very quiet right now. We had some wind and sprinkles around 5:30 pm but the storm that I was expecting isn’t here yet. Maybe later tonight it will come but I’ll be glad if the wind stays away.

Still raining here. Just had a couple of real heavy showers. You know the really loud ones.

We've had some rain and thunder. The wind is vicious. We're on a hill and the wind hits the back of our house where our master bedroom is because there is nothing to block it. I cleared off the bed in the downstairs bedroom in case I decide to sleep there.

Sonoma County activated their emergency operations center. We got an alert from El Dorado County about 4:30 but I couldn't get it on my phone. A while ago they sent an apology because so many people tried to click on the alert link that it shut down the system. It was the same stuff: high winds with gusts up to 100 MPH but I think that's up in the Sierras not in my town. Lots of rain/wind/downed trees/flooding.
