Usually we’ve had 10” fall by now in the mid Atlantic states but we have only had a trace.
If you are in a winter snow location, have you had your normal amount so far?

SE Michigan here and we have had very little snow, we are way under the average. With that said we are supposed to get 3-5 inches middle of the week. I feel bad for the ski resorts and the small business owners who rely on income from snow removal. I pre-pay for my personal snow removal and even though I'm not getting my moneys worth this year, I'm glad that I helped out a small business even if it's just a little.

I'm in Kansas City and our precipitation is way down and the temperatures are way warmer than usual. We had the one freezing spell over Christmas, but that's been about it. My Mom in Gulf Shores, AL said their temperatures are way up, too, and she had to get her summer clothes out again.

I'm in mid Michigan so our weather has been the same as littlemama and Fidget. It's been really too warm here for snow. This morning snow is gently falling and they say we might get snow in the middle of the week that is more substantial. Who knows? If the temperature doesn't stay cool enough, it won't stick.

I’m in Minnesota and we have had lots of snow. We have over 50 inches already, which is what we usually get for the entire season. The snow banks are really tall, the plows have come through a couple of times to push them back. We have not had the real cold weather this year that we usually get though.

I am in the Northeast/New England and we are also below average. We did get some Thursday and Friday. We are suppose to get some more tonight and tomorrow, but only a couple of inches in my area. The southern part of the state may get about 10 inches.
We are about 17 inches below normal and have had a lot of rain. 👎👎

I feel like where I live hasn't had a good snow in years. Literally no snow yet this season and I'm longing for a good snow in day.
It's odd my relatives in OK, AR and TX often wax eloquent on how horrible our weather must be. I'm in Maryland. All 3 of those states have had worse winters than I've had for years. I have weather alerts set for where they all live and by far, where my MIL lives, there's always something going on. Their ice and snow has far surpassed my own.

NYC hasn’t had any measurable snow yet those winter. One morning there was the lightest of dustings on lawns but that’s about it.

As jemali said, here in MN, we already have our winter amount and we're only in January. Lots of fog and hoar frost. Very pretty scenes. The snow can stop anytime though. 😅

I'm in Colorado - east of Colorado Springs. Boy howdy, have we had snow! It's only mid-January but we've had SO MUCH snow and super cold temps. We are over it already. I've had to leave work early twice and go in late once or twice due to the snow and ice. We've already gone through half our firewood for the season. We still have snow in our yard from the storm a few weeks ago that hasn't melted yet.

Where I am in MA (south east) I've had nothing that sticks. I've been checking the weather outlook and it doesn't look like I'll be seeing any either. Such a warm winter for us. Like someone mentioned, I feel bad for the ski/snowboard/snow mobile areas though I believe some of the areas up north have gotten snow but no where near the usual.
I have a friend in TX, who's daughter moved to MA for a job with the city of Boston. The daughter keeps texting me "I don't why you people complain about winter, other than being grey all day every day, it's not too cold and there hasn't been snow". I keep telling her to stop jinxing us!

SE Michigan here as well and far below normal. We’re getting 1-3” today and a bit more late this week but virtually none before this (dusting here and there but nothing to speak of).
It’s not just the snow that’s abnormal it’s the temps too. We’ve have temps as high as 60 in January. Many days have been in the 40s. That’s unheard of around here at this time of year.

Meanwhile here in Seattle where we don't get much snow it snowed yesterday (it did not stick).
Sorry for people for whom snow is the norm who are not getting it!

Nope.
Now I’ll admit I am a bit more south & east than where I used to live but not that much
I have had nothing but flurries.
Where I used to live has had nothing but nuisance snow ( 3” or less ) just enough to screw up the commute & need the shovel but not really enough for sledding or anything.

I live an hour west of Lake Tahoe and can see the snowy mountains in the distance from the parkway leading to our house. We've had an abundance of snow ~ and rain which we desperately need.

Another Minnesotan here and I’m SO over it. I remember getting snowfall amounts like this when I was a kid but we haven’t had this much snow on the ground in a long, long time. The snowbanks are huge. My snowmobile loving DH is loving it.
However, we also had a stretch of unseasonably warm weather about a week ago where it was in the 30’s and raining. In January. WTH. About half of the snow accumulation on the ground melted and then when it got cold again everything was covered in a sheet of ice.

Our mountains got tons of snow. Last year Mammoth Mt (a ski resort) got 21’. This year they already have 31’! We need the snow in our mountains because that is where California gets a lot of their water from.

Nothing in Northern VA/Metro DC yet. It is cold and wet today. I hate 37 degrees and rain. We’ve had a few days like that this year. When I walk the dogs I get damp and cold and it hangs on for the rest of the day.

Just flurries mostly in NW Indiana. I'm feeling cheated...I want snow, and lots of it. I'm tired of no sunshine. I'd be very happy with a couple inches of pretty white snow regularly and some sun. Instead we have had chilly, damp and gray. It's depressing. We were supposed to get a doozy last month...29inches. But it never materialized.

This is exactly what we've been getting and it IS depressing. I'm looking up soup recipes to console myself with a week's worth of warm comfort food that won't cost 1,000 calories.

I’m in Maryland too, and I hear there’s a chance we may get some on Wednesday! I'm in Annapolis, MD and just checked weatherunderground.com At least here they are predicting 46 degrees on Wednesday with rain, so I'm fairly certain we won't get snow here. Of course that could change. We've had a lot of gray, cloudy, rainy days and today is another one of them. I hate these kinds of days in January. The trees are bare and it's so gloomy and depressing. If it's gonna be cold I prefer snow. Otherwise I'll cheer and celebrate the day spring arrives.

I’m in Maryland too, and I hear there’s a chance we may get some on Wednesday! UGH I hope not! I find our snow chances happen more in Feb or even March. And if the storm comes from the south, it's esp likely.
