Wel, that’s going to take a special real estate agent to take on that house and get it sold!

So… as long as the price is right I wouldn’t be that turned off buying it. I think I’d really love being able to take one room at a time and do a before and after reveal. Imagine having a tv show with this as the premise, might even self fund the changes 😁But alas I live too far away…
And it’s the super wide lay down multicoloured couch tufted thing that does it for me, but they’d have to take alllll the furniture and artwork with them so that would be their problem… right?!?

I can take just about anything, decor-wise, but that kitchen made me want to curl up in a ball and cry!
All the plush and fake fur - in NYC that stuff would be grey with dust and dirt in about 48 hours.

OMG that kitchen! I like the house itself, but I'd be offering abot $200k less than the asking price. I'd need at least that much to get rid of the "decore" and redecorate.

It isn’t my style but I like it. My style is MCM kitsch, tacky is my vibe. I don’t care for the grey walls, shiplap, farmhouse hobby lobby look. I love everything in my house and I like when people’s houses reflect their personality. She has wayyyyy more going on than I am in to but I think it’s cool she ran with it.

Why bother offering even offering anything? There are other comps with the same square footage and remodeling done and you don’t have to pay 200k to get rid of all that crap and another 3-400k to repair and redo the entire house in a sanity sparing home!

I like a bit of whimsy and color in my decor, but oh my. What does one do with all those hula hoops? She might make and decorate them for sale. They are quite popular here.

It’s as if a class of 6 year olds had been given unlimited art supplies and told to decorate the rooms. There is so much going on I have no idea what the basic house looks like. If the rest of the house was quite neutral, including the kitchen walls, I could probably live with the kitchen cabinets just as a splash of fun.

Okaaayyyy. First, it kinda scared me. And second, I hate normal vacuuming, ain't no way I'm doing walls and ceilings too. But I bet the owner had a lot of happy moments decorating.

How does one get dust, etc., out of furry walls and ceiling? I started wheezing just thinking about it. I love the outside of the house. I felt dizzy and nauseated looking at the interior photos. This was exactly my first thought too. This is not the house for an asmatic! Heck, I could barely breathe in the house I just bought because they has recently installed beautiful beige Berber carpeting. But it was wool. It had to go immediately. I noticed a difference within two days of the carpeting being out of the house. I now no longer wake up with a headache, unable to breathe. I can see having fun with your craft room and going wild with color and texture in there to spark your creative mind. But to have this throughout your house is just insane. There were so few comfortable places. Even with the bulk of their junk gone after they move out, you are still left with needing to strip the walls, and probably need to replace the wallboard itself because that carpet and stuffed animals were probably glued to the walls. And I have been cranky at the cost of carpet removal and wood floor refinishing! snyder, Please keep an eye on this listing for us and let us know if it sells or the price is changed.

I'm not sure what houses go for in that area, but that house is going to take several hundreds of thousands of dollars to make "normal."

It is certainly interesting in its current state, but as far as homes go, this one doesn't seem that bad to return to a more traditional state. Gut the kitchen, as is typical with many homes. Hire a professional painting crew. Some drywall might have to be replaced, doors, molding. But all of that is typical home upgrades. I'm always more concerned with plumbing, electrical and mold. As crazy as the style is, it seems like the home was loved.

Hire a professional painting crew. Some drywall might have to be replaced, doors, molding. But all of that is typical home upgrades. I'm always more concerned with plumbing, electrical and mold. As crazy as the style is, it seems like the home was loved. I disagree that these would be typical home improvements. I had to immediately remove all carpeting in the home I just bought, but I would not say that doing that would be a typical thing that an average person would do when just buying a home. The carpeting was a newer Berber and in immaculate condition. I would have probably kept it for a couple of years if it had not been wool. I am extremely allergic to wool so it had to come out right away. That is no fault of the seller, that was just because of my allergies. I would say that was totally on me. I will probably make some changes in the kitchen like swap out the stove for a gas stove, but again, that is a personal choice and something that doesn’t have to occur to make the house livable. The things required in this house to make it livable are going to cost the buyer a lot of money. Even just the painted surfaces are going to require more than the normal amount of attention. I noticed one of them was covered with varying sized pieces of wood or something that was painted different colors and then screwed to the wall. A painter is going to charge a premium for all that work. I agree with you that mold is a major concern as are plumbing or electrical issues. But we disagree that the changes required in this house would be considered typical. I consider them extensive and expensive. Moving into a new house and painting the walls a different color? Sure. Have to replace the drywall completely because they had carpet or stuffed animals affixed to them? Not at all typical. I would say that the changes required to make this home livable again would fall into the same category as electrical or plumbing upgrades. Both will require drywall being removed and replaced. I wonder if the carpeting and stuffed animals on the walls would be considered a fire hazard by the insurance company?
