Usually a little treat and a card. My mom did the same thing and it's also her birthday. It's just a small way to say I love them.
I think it's weird when people get butt hurt if you don't celebrate the holiday any other way than celebrating it with your partner. Easter and Christmas are religious holidays, but plenty of atheists and agnostics celebrate it a different way.
Me and my husband will probably go to a nicer than usual restaurant. Probably not tomorrow, but sometime this month.

Nope, it's not done in UK culture. If I did, people would think it odd and weird. There is no market for it here. Galatines is just starting here, but other than that, it's only celebrating romatic love.

We got Little Pancakes a small toy this year. And my husband is taking both of us out to dinner. Some people will prob think it’s weird but we can have a date night any time!

Valentine's for me isn't really just for romantic love. Love is for everyone. I've given the ladies in my office chocolates in the past. Thinking it's just for romantic love is fine for you, but they have kids valentine candies, plushies, tee shirts, dresses, bows, cards, etc. I've never heard it was for romantic love only. That's wild to me. It's just LOVE. Love is for everyone but romantic love isn’t. The history of St Valentine is about lovers and fertility but of course commercialism has taken it and made it for everyone.

Here it’s common for every kid to make a Valentines box and then there’s a class party and you drop your Valentines in everyone’s boxes. And if you go to Target there’s aisles of Valentines stuff for kids like how there’s aisles of stocking stuffers at Christmas. I just love any excuse to buy and wrap presents for my kids 🤷🏻♀️ The Switch Witch brings presents at Halloween, then we do presents for Valentines and Easter, too.

And as I said commercialism takes hold of any thing these days and expands The meaning is we spend more cash.

I did not send my son a VD card or gift and now I regret it.
DS1 and his wife's anniversary is Feb 14th so I am paying for a hotel and keeping the girls
I went overboard with my 2 dgds. Dolls candy, cups and bowls and clothes.
DH and I do nothing.

Definitely. We sent both kids a care package - candy and a cute stuffed animal. My husband was the one who shopped for their stuff this year! My mom also sent Valentine's packages to them + my brother - homemade sugar cookies. I don't know why my brother gets a Valentine's gift but my sister and I don't. I will also be doing Instacart/Doordash to send my kids their traditional Valentine's Day dinner tomorrow. Beecher's Mac & cheese for my son and pizza for my daughter.

My college DD was in town this weekend and I made some treats for her to take back for a Super Bowl party + got some custom v-day sugar cookies and bought her a new coat and Lulu belt bag, so I am calling that her V-day gift. My 17 DS will get v-day sugar cookies and I will probably run out and get a little something for him tomorrow to go with it. I have always done something for my kids. Nothing major, but I like the opportunity to do something special. DH will make steaks for dinner and we will exchange cards (Of course I will make his).

Yes I always have. My children are adults, one is married and has 2 children, so everyone gets a little something. This year I’m baking each one their favorite treat, dgd is getting a doll crib and some puppy shaped cookies, dgs is getting an infant toy and teething biscuits. I enjoy it and so do they.

Yes because when I was a kid my dad would always give me and my sister a small box of Russell Stover chocolates and I have such sweet memoirs of that so I give my kids some of their favorite candy.

Well, consider me stunned. I was all set to reply “no, of course not; Valentines Day is nothing to do with children” and then I read the replies where most people say Yes. Stunned, definitely stunned. Add me to the stunned list. It would never have occurred to me to give my kids a Valentines gift/card. It's definitely a couples thing here.

My grandparents and parents always have us kids/grandkids a small treat.
And my parents send their grandkids a card and money.
Just a fun day to say I love you.
Dh and I each gave one another new tumblers.

No, I rarely get my DH anything either. But DH and I do use it as an opportunity to spend quality time with each other at some point in the month.
Many times we are on a ski vacation with family as the kids usually have a 4 day weekend.
I also see no reason to give them a gift when they just had Christmas and Easter is around the corner. If I do anything I'd get a fun treat that we can all share.

I’m going to make some cookies for my youngest DD. I would normally send something sweet to my oldest daughter at college, but she’s studying abroad so she’ll have to treat herself.

Always. When a child made a trail of Hershey kisses to a few little gifts. As a college student I send cards from us and the pupper with little gifts or gift cards and little treats.

I sent care packages to both my college students, have some things and a card for youngest at home, and sent my 4 y old niece overseas a vday care package. Heck I got the dog Valentine’s treats lol. 🤷♀️ to me holidays are a chance to brighten dull days. Oh I sent my mom and dad cards too, and grandma sent the kids cards. ❤️
Then again ex made vday about one of his affair partners so romantic love isn’t high on my list. 🙄

Nope, there are no parties or cards in school. It is a commercial celebration here, but only for romantic love. As I said galentines is just starting to catch on. But that's the only non romantic love chatter about the holiday. When I worked in early years education 2-4 year old, we would acknowledge valentines and make a card for caregivers. More as a learning about who loves us and what others families look like. But never sending a card to peers.

I get boxes of assorted chocolates for them even though my boys are in their 20s. They love them - it is a treat.
Dh gets more refined chocolate. We went out for steak on Saturday- he is traveling today and won’t be around tonight.

In my school, the 3rd grade team decided no academics today - only activities celebrating the holiday. I am the mean teacher because I am insisting on at least having math in the morning. The rest of the day is making valentines boxes, distributing valentines into said decorated boxes, making a Valentines craft, eating cupcakes, etc.
I would say that for many in the USA, Valentines Day is a bigger holiday for children than for adults. I was so relieved when my kids went on to middle school because I could stop buying the boxes of valentines and helping them label them all. Dh and I have never done much for Valentines Day - it is my least favorite holiday.
Our stores sell numerous boxes of valentines with small treats for children. I mean an aisle full of boxes of children’s Valentines. Probably over a thousand boxes per Walmart and Target. Even the drugstores, like CVS, carry them. It is a huge holiday for children.

Small boxes of Cella's chocolate covered cherries--one prefers milk chocolate, one dark chocolate.
They get Terry's milk and dark chocolate oranges in their stockings for Christmas, too.

My mom used to give my brother and me the small box of conversation hearts when we were growing up. It's just hubby and I, and we're lucky to remember our anniversary, so if one of us remembers Valentines, we're doing good.

When our DDs were little, I"d get them a small inexpensive stuffed animal and one of their favorite candies (skittles and m&ms) for V-day. Now that they're grown, I didn't get them anything.
eta: I just remembered that DH used to get them one rose each. He hasn't done that since they were young though.

My dad always sent us cards and bought us chocolates til he got dementia. I miss it so much.
I usually give my DDs something heart themed if I find something they would like. This year I bought them heart bracelets from baublebar. 2 of them wear a stack daily. #3 does not so she’ll get a gc when she visits this weekend.
I also do an Easter egg hunt for my kids and their partners. They all love it.
