Hi everyone! I was supposed to meet my mum at Denny's for breakfast this morning but I had a splitting headache so canceled on her ... it is just letting up now ... I think it was mainly caused by the fact that I got absolutely no sleep last night ... none ... so frustrating! My plans today are to do some laundry and take a nap! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I am doing a no makeup, legging and sweatshirt wearing day today and it feels great! My Hello Fresh box gets delivered today so I will make something for dinner out of that ... no idea what though! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Today is Sunday and I plan to walk the dog, go to the gym (maybe) and cook stuff. I might also try watercolor painting with my new brushes. It’s not an exciting kind of day.

Good Morning! Glad your headache is letting up leannec. I hate nights when I can't sleep. I can totally relate to your meme. I am in the office. It was so nice to work from home yesterday. I get so much more accomplished when I am not interrupted a million times. Dinner will be meatloaf. Since I went to the store yesterday, I actually have some fresh produce in the house so I will fix cauliflower and broccoli for a side. It is supposed to be a beautiful day here The sun is shining and the temps will get to the low 50's. We have really been spoiled this month. It makes me scared for March weather... Have a great day!

Happy Sunday everyone. After all our snow melted yesterday, we woke up to an even thicker coating this morning. Despite the snow and freezing temps, DH still went up to the bakery for our now traditional Sunday morning pastries. After that, we had a phone call with family. Sophia was her usual madcap self, chatting at a hundred words a minute, telling us all about kinder and going to the football and her upcoming birthday party. Lucia showed off her new skills - pushing Sophia away when she got between Lucia and the phone, amd pulling herself up on the furniture. I think DS and DSiL are in for some fun’s times soon! This afternoon I went for a walk and on the way back in I met our newest little neighbor, a 12 week old baby boy who lives directly above us. From chatting to mum, I think he was born the week I left for Australia. Since then, it’s been football on TV and knitting. Our game has just kicked off and is going to be a great tussle, in absolutely foul weather.
Dinner her tonight is steak on the grill (yes, DH is going out in the snow to cook), most likely with grilled vegetables on the side.

Good morning. leannec I hope you get some rest. I'm in leggings and a Tshirt today too. No bra! Gasp! I just can't seem to get my mojo going today. I have a million things I could be doing. Fun things. But I'm moving so slow I almost don't even know what to make of it. Is it my body or my brain that needs rest? Jeremy told me he wants meatloaf for dinner. Meatloaf is his domain so he is cooking dinner. Which is fine by me. But he did ask for chocolate chip cookies this afternoon. So I will make some for him.

Good morning. leannec , I hope that your nap will refresh you and that you can enjoy part of your day, at least. I'm so sorry that you have a headache. UGH! I feel for you. sueg , your sweet granddaughters are going to keep their parents on their toes. The greatest thing is that you get to enjoy them and spoil them and then go home to peace and quiet. Little Sophia sounds like a wonderful, happy little girl. Lucia is growing fast. I'm guessing that your newest neighbor is going to be very lucky to have you as his downstairs neighbor. Why do I think that you're going to become good friends? Grandmothers are a treasure.
jeremysgirl, my bra is in the same location as yours, OFF. Is there anything that you can do to help turn your day around? Perhaps baking will help with focus? I'm sending good thoughts your way.

It's rainy, windy and cold out so we probably won't go for our morning walk. Hopefully it will stop at some point so we can get a walk in. I'll be working on my layouts for my crop at the end of March. Dinner will be pork loin with baked yams, a fruit salad and a green salad.

Last night I actually cooked dinner. I made chicken egg pasta alfredo. It took a little over half n hour to prepare the meal and another half hour to clean up. Tonight I'll have a frozen dinner. It will take 6 minutes to cook and 3 minutes to clean up.

scrapmaven I finally put in a load of laundry and I took the butter out of the fridge to soften for the cookies. I might just read. I have a brand new Breathe magazine and a lot of books. Part of my problem is that my left wrist is really hurting. Both my wrists hurt yesterday. I am hoping for some ibuprofen to kick in. My BFF gave me the name of a good hand surgeon in my area. I'm going to call for an appointment tomorrow. This has just deteriorated very quickly. I was fine a few months ago. And now my left hand is so bad I don't want to pick up my coffee cup. Hopefully a brace or injections will help and I won't need surgery.

don - well done for cooking dinner, even if it is once in a while. And frozen dinners have their place, especially when you are on your own. My dad and stepmum now get a monthly delivery of frozen meals as part of their aged care package, and I think it is wonderful that they can do that and we don’t have to worry if they are eating properly. Football update: 3-0 lead at half time.

Dinner here is baked macaroni and cheese, Italian sausage and broccoli, all cooked by DS. That doesn’t mean I’m not cooking…I’ve roasted 3 big split chicken breasts and made chicken pot pie for my df’s family for tomorrow. I also cooked apples and have 16 turnovers in the oven (using frozen puff pastry). I made an apple crisp and cooked down the chicken bones for stock. I’m tired!!
I have a big mess in my room to clean and organize after buying new storage from IKEA. It was delivered yesterday but I was out until dinner time and had no energy. DS did the assembly for me.

Hi everyone! Yesterday was such a busy day that I was too pooped to even post. This has been a go-go-go weekend, but it's been good. We had a wonderful Friday evening with Nick's daughter and the boys. We met for apps and pizza while her husband is off on a snowmobiling trip to Canada. She joked she was planning her fantasy divorce...I guess it has been nice to not have a 3rd person to parent, haha. The boys are doing well and the 2nd (our wrestler) surprised us by saying he was going to do baseball with his brother, whose in his last season/sport before graduation. So we will have 2 baseball players. He may not start, even though he is going to join. But Nick, who played as a kid and was pretty great at it, is so excited to take them to the batting cages and have them over to hit balls in our field/side yard. Yesterday I made pumpkin bread pudding/french toast bake with whisky cream sauce and sausage for breakfast. Then we did our little circuit to Chicago suburbs to the bakery for Paczkis, Half Price Books, a thrift store and a couple music stores. I have joked before that shopping for hobby stuff is a separate hobby from the hobby itself, and apparently it is for music too. As he gets better on guitar he starts eyeing stuff to trade in or sell for credit/$ to trade up. He starts trumpet lessons on Tuesday. (I just purchased ear buds...thebpups and cat are on their own!) We had delicious burgers for late lunch, early dinner. Today we have gone up over the Wisconsin state line to attend a wake for a high school friend's wife. We both went to school with him, but Nick really grew up with him, and we haven't seen him in 30yrs. It's very sad. We just wanted to show up for him. We have stopped at a scrapbooking/card supplies store for me, and we are at a music store now for Nick. We will stop by the funeral home, and have a late lunch after, then head home. We listen to podcasts in the car and it is a nice day for a drive, so the couple hrs goes quickly. KelleeM You have been cooking up a storm! Your dinner sounds great and I bet it will be nice to have all that done. I love potpies, and for someone to cook one for me would be greatly appreciated! Also, apple turnovers! I actually have puff pastry in the freezer and apple filling. That sounds great. jeremysgirl ditto on the chocolate chip cookies...nobody cooks for the baker! Also, meatloaf sounds delicious. I'll be by around 5:30 for dinner and dessert, k? Sending good energy for organizing, resting, napping ( leannec hope you feel better soon...not sleeping is ROUGH), cooking and all manner of things. Fingers crossed the restaurant I found us online is as good as it looks. The extensive salad bar us what sold me, even more than the comfort food it advertises. Take care, everyone...grateful for you!

Hi I am making pork tenderloin in the air fryer with salad and maybe green beans. I am thawing the loin now.
We got enough snow last night to make cancelling dinner plans a good idea.
I am expecting a parcel from Lululemon and that is my excitement for today. (I am very excited actually).
Dexter T Whoodle wants outside yet again.

One of my DF just went through this....she is definitely better. She saw a hand surgeon and got injected and wore a brace when not scrubbed in the OR

I just surprized hubby with a yummy brunch, and also making tortilla soup that’ll simmer all day. It was SO FUN to chop fresh veggies and cook, but DAMNIT, the pain is so bad after. So hubbs tells me not to cook, that he’s fine with canned soup, and that he’ll make brunch. But I LOVE cooking & baking for my loved ones! I guess I HAVE TO relent & just accept my limits. leannec….I missed it earlier that you got NO sleep! 😱 I hope your headachs is GONE, and you have a refreshing nap! Yesterday, we had fun running errands, but I had only gotten 3 hours sleep the night before, so it interfered a bit with the fun of being out and about. I did take an awesome nap later, though. A lot of you have mentioned insommnia recently. Sorry so many of you have it! My issue isn’t insomnia, it’s being abruptly woken up by PAIN.😡 Although insommnia is NOT funny at all, this ad always made me laugh….the way her eyes are! i.postimg.cc/W1MYtQ0C/7-E137-E34-6-B97-4-BED-A159-ADAF884425-F9.jpg

Hi Everyone, leannec I hope that your headache gets better. I am so sorry that you couldn’t sleep last night. You kno that I have some of those same nights, so I get how you are so exhausted. Delta Dawn Enjoy walking your dog and possibly going to the gym and painting. Your dinner sounds great. stormsts I hope that you don’t have to work to long today. sueg I love your stories of Sophia and Lucia. It really warms my heart. How sweet to meet your newest neighbor. karenlou Your dinner sounds delicious. jeremysgirl I hope you get some inspiration to get your mojo back. I understand how you feel because that happens to me from time to time. It may be both your body and your mind that need a break. And you could be exhausted from the pain in your wrist. I hope you can get an appointment with the hand surgeon and he can help you. cadoodlebug I hope that you can get your walk in today. Your dinner sounds delicious.Your meme cracks me up. don Good for you cooking a meal. But I understand the ease of a frozen meal and clean up. KelleeM Wow! You have done a lot of cooking today! scrapmaven How is your gay going? **GypsyGirl** How is your DH? scrappintoee What beautiful layouts of your precious nephew! Hugs to you. tmarschall I am sorry for the loss of your friend. I think it’s wonderful that you will have both grandsons playing baseball together. scrappert Happy Belated Birthday Well the last couple of days have been busy and Friday was crazy. I will start with Friday. Since DH is a photographer for several fire departments; we have a police/fire scanner. At 8:32 AM; a dispatch came out that there was an active shooting taking place at my YDS’s high school. DH immediately called DS and told him to stay put and he was going to be locked down. YDS said he would tell his teacher and while he was telling his teacher, the lockdown was announced. When I heard the dispatch, I dropped to my knees and began praying. Over 100 officers showed up and swept the school. There was no shooting. They let the kids leave starting at 10:00 AM. First each bus was announced and only the kids on that bus could leave to get on it. Then the students with cars, then the walkers and then the kids who were being picked up by their parents. YDS didn’t get home until 11:20. It was reported that the call came from another country and his school was swatted. I was so wiped out; that I ended up taking a nap. We ended up doing takeout for dinner. Yesterday, I ended up helping to prepare for our congregational dinner today. I was there for three hours. Then my friend and I went out to breakfast and to a thrift store. We had a great time. We had rechauffe for dinner. Today, I went to church, helped serving the dinner and had a wonderful time. DH put a roast with carrots, potatoes and onions in the crockpot for dinner. I am going to get some scrapbooking stuff together for tomorrow and do some serious picking up, laundry and cleaning. I hope all of you have a peaceful day!

jeremysgirl, I'm hoping that it's tendonitis that can be fixed w/an injection and brace, as karenlou suggested. If it it is carpal tunnel and in need of surgery, I want to reassure you. My sister had both hands done a couple years ago and she said it was easy peasy and healed quickly. I had a similar surgery years ago for something else and it was an easy and fast recovery. don, my mother taught me to clean as I go. So, I leave my dishwasher open when I cook and when I'm done w/a utensil or other cooking instrument I rinse it and throw it in the dishwasher. Easy Peasy. When I'm done cooking the only thing left to clean is the pan I'm using. Something to consider as a newer cook. Good for you for cooking a meal. You might find that you enjoy doing it after a while. It opens up lots of variety. Put on your favorite music and cook. Make it something you do for yourself. scrappintoee, it's good to hear that you're getting out a bit and that you were able to cook this am. I know that the pain is horrible, but you must also incorporate normalcy into your world. It's vital. I like your lay-out, though I know that you miss your nephew, terribly.
