What questions do you have?

I've joined some Facebook groups to do some research as I was going to ask my doctor about Mounjaro. It sounds like constipation is a real issue for many, so its best to be proactive and take supplements to prevent that from happening. And I hear its important to drink lots of water and stay hydrated (electrolytes help) and to concentrate on getting your protein in.
They say less side effects if you inject in your thigh.
Would love if you come back to comment on this thread to let us know how your journey is going. If & when I decide to do this I need to take care of some other health issues first.

My DH takes Mounjaro and the side effect that most bothers him is it produces super disgusting smelling / tasting burps. Like room clearing bad smelling burps that linger for a long time. 🫤

Ozempic and Wegovy are the same thing (semaglutide), as is Rebylsus. Mounjaro is a different medication, although I believe it’s also a GLP1. Here’s a recent thread: 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/138320/discussed-ozempic-weight-lossI took my first shot 3/2. Not really any measurable side effects for me, and the lack of food noise is a game changer. It’s also curbed all of my self-soothing habits.

I take Rebylsus which is the same medication but in pill form for diabetes T2. Constipation and nausea are pretty common esp. when starting it (or increasing a dose). The appetite suppressing aspect is helpful -I'll hit a wall where I can't face another bite of food and my serving sizes have decreased.

Like non food related ones?

Wow, it stopped your self soothing habits? Like non food related ones? Yes! I used to tap/click my nails constantly when working at my desk, and I don’t do that anymore. I also had a habit of picking at my nail polish and peeling it off while watching tv, and that’s stopped, too. I hadn’t even noticed until I saw someone else post in Reddit about how they aren’t biting their nails anymore. It is being studied already for its potential usage as an addiction treatment, as people who have problems with alcohol have noticed a significant decrease in their overall desire to drink and consumption when they do.

You’re on wegovy? My doctor said I could do Ozempic but I have been hesitant because I heard it makes you nauseous and have sour burps. But my self soothing habits are not soothing at all. Do you have any side effects from it?

I’m taking compounded semaglutide.
I have never thrown up. I have had some slight nausea a couple of times after my dose, and once when I did a bunch of shots of whiskey I was nauseated the next day. (I normally don’t have any adverse effects from alcohol, no matter how much I drink.)
I don’t burp in general… it must just be something about the way my body is, because I can down an entire soda in one shot and not burp.
The only side effect I have had is fatigue. I take my dose on Thursday night, and I usually end up napping for a bit after work on Friday and again on Saturday. By Sunday I’m fine.

I get sulphuric burps, and I've found it happens more often when I work late (I work from home) and I don't move away from my desk much. I think it may be I am not moving enough to help my food move in the digestive tract.

I have to call the office today and see what the next step is in the process since my Pharmacy said that it's an "exclusion" so PA probably won't even get it approved through insurance. I'm willing to be the poster child for "please approve this because it will help more people if you do" by appealing to my insurance co if they will just listen. They will approve WLS but won't approve something that will keep me from having the surgery (which would be a revision in my case. I'm above the BMI requirement, I have high blood pressure and have been morbidly obese (I HATE that term!) most of my life. Why wouldn't they want to prevent my needing other meds or procedures that would cost them even more money if they'd just approve this one!? <--- rhetorical question, I know they don't even care. I hate calling on a Monday morning for this but I NEED to get the ball rolling!!
