Yes! I’m a fan of all the pomp and circumstance. I’m making coronation chicken and scones. I also have some Coronation tea I bought from Harney and Sons. I’ll be watching BBC coverage live on Britbox. It’s also my birthday so I have no other commitments. It’s my day to do whatever I want!

This will probably only be available in the UK but if you can catch it on iPlayer you might enjoy it BBC The Great British Sewing Bee’s Patrick Grant goes behind the scenes at the family firm making ceremonial uniforms for King Charles’s coronation. Tasked with creating thousands of bespoke uniforms for the big day, the Kashket family have been making spectacular ceremonial wear for four generations. As well as discovering the skill and craftmanship required to create these unique garments, Patrick also meets some of the men and women of the armed forces who will wear them www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001llnv/coronation-tailors-fit-for-a-kingThe unique skills and equipment is so interesting to the crafter in me. The detail, the amount of hand sewing, the making of the helmets, buttons etc. Well worth a watch, if you can access it.

I'm not going to watch live, but I'll check out highlights on the internet. It's historic and will be something to see.

No, I get that it is really important or a fun activity for many, but I was really hoping that the OG Queen would bypass Charle/Camilla (and his past behaviors towards his first wife) and give the reigns to her grandson. I am taking my ball and playing elsewhere.
I am also still ticked that they took off the rather campy tv series "The Royals" and left me not knowing who Jasper would be shagging next.

I didn't pick an answer because none applied to me. I am saying no because not that I am not interested, I am. But I am saying it's weird hours and I don't really want to devote my time. I'll watch recaps.

Depending on my insomnia, I may watch it live here in the PST zone, which would be what, starting at 2:00 am.
I was up for live showing of Charles and Diana's wedding, Andrew and Sarah, and William and Kate's (had a tea party with Royal paper dolls for my then 6 y/o).
I'd lost interest w/Harry and Meghan, just caught the coverage later on. I didn't watch anything else live again until the Queen's funeral. I'm iffy on this one.

I have my pvr set to record & will watch when I get up - only the Lisa LaFlamme version on citytv!
My dd, who lives in Manchester, is actually going with her friend who lives in London. They're going to try to get spots for the parade & then probably go to a pub to watch it on tv. She was grumbling yesterday about the price of train tickets being double what they usually are

I'll watch it! It's history being made, and I'm a history buff, plus I doubt I'll live long enough to see William's coronation, so it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing for me. I've started a little journal listing important national and international events during my lifetime. I jot down my remembrances of the events and where I was when they happened. For example: 9/11, Kennedy's assassination, New Orleans/Hurricane Katrina, etc., Princess Diane/car crash, and the pandemic. Hopefully, it will be of interest to my grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

I'll probably be up early for a track meet that's an hour out of town, with DS in the first event. Yay. (looking forward to watching him and all, but whyyyyyyy the first event? Whyyyyyyy?)
I'll definitely watch some highlights later, and may watch the whole thing, it just depends.

We don't have plans this weekend and I've been sick so sitting on the couch on a Saturday night watching as it happens live seems highly likely.

I'll probably at least watch highlights. Charles has grown on me over the years, and I can't get over that Camilla has kept her own personal bolthole. I think that's such a boss move. My fondest hope is that she has played the long game and engineered all this "I'm Queen now" stuff. I just find that so amusing. I was and am a pretty big Diana fan, but I consider post-Diana Camilla separate from homewrecker Camilla.
I figure there's also a tiny chance Charles will throw a fountain pen-level tantrum and there's no way I would ever miss that.

I thought at one time "they" said it was her choice. Shows you how much I follow the monarchy. No, it's not a choice, that's why many people object to a monarchy - because people are born into it and there's no choosing who's up next, when countries wanted that, they switched to elected governments. The UK currently has both (although like many of our countries, their elected Governments recently have been pretty shit) and I think the current situation works well for them. Each individual has a choice if they want to do it or not when their time comes, they can choose to abdicate, but unless something drastic happened (like the sudden diagnosis of a terminal illness) I don't believe Charles would ever consider doing that either.

I remember people speculating that queen would bypass Charles. It was years ago, so I don't remember the source, but I am sure it was a group of uninformed people clearly. No way Charles would give this up. He's been waiting for a long time.

I don't remember the source The "source" is magical thinking by people on message boards and in the media (especially in America) who either have zero idea, or blatantly disregard how the British monarchy works. The same "sources" who used to claim regularly that the Queen would abdicate...despite her vow on her coronation day that "my WHOLE life, be long or short will be dedicated to your service" I'm sure it will continue with Charles, every little hiccup will get a headline of "Charles stepping down for William" Queen Elizabeth died as the monarch, and Charles will too. I've already seen a story with one crackpot astrologer/psychic saying things looks bad for coronation day and that King Charles and Queen Camilla will never rule... I hope someone pointed out to him that they ARE already ruling and have been for the last 8 months.

I wasn’t planning on it (I’m sitting on Gennifer ’s bench), but apparently my mom really wants to; she had already ordered 3 purple lap blankets . So I’m hosting her and my BFF who always comes and watches the weddings with us. But we’re not getting up early for it, they’ll both be driving in from out of town and get here around lunchtime. We’ll watch whatever highlights are available at the time. Mom wanted a meat and cheese tray so we’ll have that and the fixings to make mini croissant sandwiches, along with fruits & veggies. She’s really excited about it so I’ll set everything up on some fun serving dishes, have pretty flowers, and wear my tiara!

Yep, we will be watching, and having a mini party with union flags decorating the house, pitchers of pimms and lemonade and enough scones and clotted cream to feed an army. Funny enough I have declined to make a broad bean quiche

My daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter are coming tomorrow and will be travelling most of the day. SIL is British and I've recorded 4 different versions. Not sure if he'll be interested in any of them. I wonder if I can get any British flags by tomorrow?
