I was going through some things in our crawl space and I still have a box of masks and gators. For some reason I’m having a hard time just throwing them all away, but is there any point to keeping them? Have you kept any “just in case”?

Yes, we still have a good stash of them. We will keep them because we tend not to landfill things that could prove useful. It's quite possible (some say likely) that Covid 19 won't be the last pandemic ride for us. www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-04-14/another-covid-like-pandemic-could-hit-the-world-within-10-years#xj4y7vzkgAdditionally, I will continue needing them because I have lung issues that are worsened by pollution (which seems to be getting consistently worse each year) and that place me at risk encountering infectious people in general. They are also useful for average people doing dusty tasks.

Yup, and it’s good I did. Tested positive today after dodging the bullet all this time. Had several medical appointments in the past two weeks. No office staff were masked.

We still have plenty of sealed N95 masks. Our state mandate for masks in healthcare just expired in April. I also travel a ton and continue to wear masks on planes.
We got rid of all cloth masks a long time ago.

I still have a mask stash since my mom is in a nursing home and they require mask wearing for staff and visitors.

Do you mean the ones we used for Covid? I am just confused because you mentioned gators, and I don't know what those were used for. But, we still have our face masks, and we keep them handy. I will still put them on depending on the situation, and I wear one when I am on public transportation like airplanes. But I haven't worn one for most everyday activity in awhile now. People around here still wear them though at stores and such.

I have a bunch and will be keeping them.
Honestly, I will use them the next time we have a bad flu season. I had no colds or flu or even stomach bugs during COVID, so they can be useful even without a pandemic.

I just bought a pack of masks today since I am running low. I still mask (I have elderly relatives that I want to protect) and even before covid, I had masks. I wear them when gardening and sometimes when crafting. I only have a few N95 masks left. I am just wearing the cheap 3ply masks.

I have all of our cloth ones in a laundry bag in the laundry room. If we need them, we’ll use them. No paper ones here.

Yes, I have a box of N-95 that I will not throw away. I hate to think about it, but I wager there will be another reason to wear them. Either a resurgence of some strain of the current problem or another new one as yet unknown. I want to be prepared.

Yup. Still wear them in certain situations - medical buildings, hospital, ER, UC, packed shopping centers, packed museums, movie theater.

Yes, we still have all ours. Haven't worn them for a while so they need washing, but I'll keep them.

We have some too. Both the paper ones and N95. We are keeping them. We use them when flying.

Gators??
But masks, yes. We have some paper ones and a few fabric ones somewhere and I expect they’ll stay at the back of the cupboard for now.

Oh yes. I had masks before the pandemic. We use them when we spray weed killer. I have worn a mask several times working outdoors this spring to keep down my pollen intake. I don't really have a big problem with it but I do notice if I've been outside for an hour or so without a mask in the heaviest pollen. I also wore a mask in public or around my parents when I had a cold. That was something I'd just started a little before the pandemic.
I also still have some KN95 masks that I will hang onto in case one of us gets sick.

My tailor still requires me to wear a mask, so I keep a few paper ones in the car.

Yes, because I still wear one in public. If you no longer want them, please do NOT "throw them all away" but donate to a local charity.

I tossed my cloth masks because no one seems to wear them anymore, but we have plenty of packaged KN95 masks. We wear them in airports and on planes. I’m still wearing them in medical offices, too.

I have about 100 left over from the last time I bought them, but we don't have to wear them in the hospital anymore. I keep them in my car in case I might feel the need to wear them again.
They came in handy when I finally caught COVID last December, and on the airplane in April (my preference, wasn't required).

I am thinking about tossing the cloth ones, since they were always "it's better than nothing," solution and we're past that now. However, we still have a box of surgical masks, and several N95s. The N95s we use when we fly. The surgical masks I expect will get used for other illnesses and high pollen days. I've been impressed that we've only had 3 illnesses since before the pandemic started. 2 Covid, one regular cold after DH took a work trip. I guess being mindful of the sicknesses going around, general cleanliness and watching what you touch does make a difference. I'm glad that mask wearing in general is more accepted, I hate being sick.

We've tossed all fabric ones and keep a ziplock bag with some throw away ones in the car in case we need them.

I think there are still a lot of reasons why a mask might be needed, recommended, or required. I have a bunch of the surgical kind and some KN95s and see no reason to get rid of them now. A relative of mine just had COVID, but even without that there are other illnesses I’d prefer to avoid.

I'm still wearing a mask whenever I'm near other people and always to my doctor. Still keeping and still buying masks.

I still wear fabric masks if I'm a very crowded place and the ones the hospital provides when I'm in there - I haven't had a cold or flu since before COVID, and I'm sure it's down to hand washing, distance and masks. My daughter is on infusions for MS which affect her immune system,so I'm very careful to try not to bring infections home to her.

I have several packages, and plan to keep them. I also have a package in the trunk of my car. I keep a couple in my purse, in baggies.
I still wear one occasionally. A few weeks ago, I was in Walmart and someone in the same aisle as me was coughing a lot( it sound like a sick cough, not a dry cough), then blew their nose....I pulled out a mask and put it on, as well as went in the other direction. As soon as I left the store, I applied hand sanitizer to my hands. Better to be safe, than sorry.
In general, the pandemic has taught me to some extra supplies in stock.

Yes. I try to wear one if I am around my known allergens. (Dust, dust mites, feathers). It's either wear a mask or end up in the hospital again .
