I have been on it for a little over five weeks. I do have diabetes and that is what the main reason for taking it. The side effects of course is what I am loving, the weight loss. I really haven't had any other side effects other than I have almost zero interest in eating. I have lost 10 pounds so far.
I think what has surprised me the most is that before the shot, I couldn't pass up a bite or a full cookie. Or I wanted that Coke (or Coke Zero) so bad, that damn it I would do anything ....I was going to get a drink. Now I have NO desire for a cookie, a Coke, anything really. Coke was my devil. The only thing I do get once and a blue moon is a Chi Tea from Starbucks. I even don't really miss that either. Last night we got some small philly cheesesteak subs after DD got out of Driver's Ed. I ate about three bites. No sides. No late night craving. This I love.
Anyone else wanna share?

I've been prescribed Ozempic but I have not started taking it yet because I just had a bad bout of migraines and have started a new med for migraines that I am very slowly titrating up on as I am very med sensitive. I've not been classified as diabetic but told I am insulin resistant. My fasting blood sugars are always high but my A1c is good. I'm anxious to start the Ozempic as I really need to lose some weight and I've gained even more after starting this new med.
That's awesome that you have had no negative side effects, I hope I can be so lucky!

I’ve been on ozempic since November. Lost 20 lbs. very slow. Just skipped this week to see If it would help my constipation. ( it has).
One observation— day 2 after a shot, I’m prone to crying. Nothing extreme, but it’s pretty predictable.

I take rybelsus which is a pill version of same medication class. Only side effects has been some nausea when switching doses and ...I hesitate to call it constipation but things have slowed down some in that area...it's a good counterbalance to metformin which tends to speed things up ime.
I've lost weight - not a ton, maybe 15 or so since starting it - but I'll hit a wall when eating and not be able to eat another bite, and my A1C is down.

I've been taking Wegovy since early April. I just hit the 10% weight loss level the other day.
I get wicked sulphuric burps as my worst side effect.
I have noticed some constipation, but it may be linked to the iron I started taking in April. Unfortunately, when I had my iron rechecked at the beginning of July, my iron levels had actually decreased slightly, so I have to double my iron intake. I'll get my bloodwork redone in early October. I have found if I eat a lot of dairy that it undoes some of the constipation.
I've noticed that I get fuller much more easily. What would have been a normal portion for me before actually makes me feel ill.

I was diagnosed as diabetic in April and was put on Metformin. It caused terrible diarrhea. The dr switched me to the slow release pill and that was an amazing change. I have also been doing intermittent fasting. Since April I have lost 35 lbs and my A1C has gone from 7.7 to 5.3.

I did read that people in general lose more weight on the Mounjaro than Ozempic..

I couldn't even leave the house. I stopped taking it. I hated it. Slowing down seems to be right.. not quite constipation, but not regular. lol

I'm on Mounjaro as mentioned in the other thread. For constipation, keep well hydrated and you might need an occasional light laxative (I use senna combined with a stool softener, when needed).

I mentioned on the other thread, but I’m been taking compounded semaglutide (Ozempic/Wegovy) since March. I’ve had great success and no noticeable side effects… I have had some fatigue the day after I dose, particularly when I titrated up a level, but nothing I couldn’t handle.
I don’t have any food aversions, nausea, constipation, or sulphuric burps that people mention. I have made a conscious effort to eat lots of protein, which I think helps.

I take Ozempic for weight loss. IIH is my main reason for needing to loose weight. I’ve been on it since December and lost about 60 lbs since starting it. I get nauseous on it especially when going up a dose but it’s worth it. I stopped taking it for a few weeks because I was having bad diarrhea and then gall bladder surgery so my pcp had me stop while my body adjusted to everything. I’ve just started it again last Friday. The lack of food cravings was/is game changing. I don’t mind passing up on dessert. I don’t need to eat everything in front of me. I’m not stress eating during downtime in my classroom or wasn’t when school was in session. It’s made such a difference in my life so far.

Ozempic has been incredible for my blood sugar. The stress level from having to call every pharmacy in town to find refills is really annoying.

One of my co-workers has had fantastic success with Mounjaro (sp?) . So far, she has lost 25 pounds.
I had lost, with no effort, 25 pounds when prescribed Januvia, the replaced by Farxiga. Unfortunately, they caused minor incontinence. So not worth it. At this point, I have put most of the weight back on. The meds for Fibro and Depo have done a number on my weight.
Anyone taking Jardiance? This is the new experiment. Quite frankly, I am fearful of side effects. Dealing with enough with the new discovery that I am gluten intolerant, on top of the IBS.

I've been on Ozempic since January 1. The weight loss is slow (30 pounds) but it is way better than the zero weight loss I'd been experiencing after strict dieting. My A1c has decreased, as has my blood pressure. I've had no disruptive side effects but I do experience food aversion. I have no desire to drink coffee, at all. The thought of some meats makes my stomach turn. Ozempic had not turned off my desire for sugar, at all, but in moderation, I can handle some and still lose. I do feel a difference in energy level, mental clarity, and the amount of food I eat (about half of what I could eat before). Overeating on Ozempic makes me feel miserable, so I learned quickly to identify the moment just before I've had enough and stop there.
As I mentioned in the other thread, there was a mix up with my prescription and I've gone 5 days without a dose. The food chatter in my brain was overwhelming yesterday. I can pick up my meds today and cannot wait to get that dose in me. If that isn't a sign that Ozempic has an impact, I don't know what is.

I haven't had a problem yet getting mine refilled.. but my gal at the doctor's office told me to contact her if I do. I am going to pick up my prescription (hopefully) after I get off work tonight.

I'm pre-diabetic and talked with my dr about Ozempic for weight loss. She seems to think I'm a candidate and I'll just have to see if I can afford it. I think I'll make the effort to try and work it into my budget because I need help.
I lost 30lbs on WW and gained it all back. I need something more than dieting to help.

I started a semiglutide 6 weeks ago and have lost 15 lbs so far. It is not easy-I use my fitness pal as recommended by a nutritionist who is the one who I got the prescription through. I monitor and chart everything I eat. I have stayed u see 1700 calories daily and make sure I have over 80 grams of protein a day.
I have “slowed down” in the bathroom area and realize I need to eat a good chunk of fruit a day to help keep things moving.

Mine out of pocket is $1,300! Aggggg. I pay $25 with insurance.

Not me, I take Metformin with no issues. DH was prescribed Metformin this year and he had to quit. He couldn’t be away from a bathroom. He is now taking Trulicity with less problems than Metformin. He refused to consider Jardiance. Nobody wants to be the <1% that ends up with crotch rot.

Mine was covered under insurance but my share was still $1100/mo. (Which is why I’m happily paying $300/mo for the compounded.)

I took compounded semaglutide (Ozempic) for 4.5 months. Lost 6 lbs right at the beginning and nothing else. I am one of the ones it didn't work for. My nurse was baffled as I am not a bad eater. Track calories, etc. Had none of the pluses that others on 2peas mention, like lack of hunger, turning off the food noise in my head, etc... No benefit. My nurse had no explanation so I discontinued it. Why spend the money.
I need to lose 35lbs after menopause did me in. Feeling hopeless.

I’ve been on Ozempic for years for pre-diabetes. Two years ago, my endo increased me from .5 to 1mg which coincided with me going on an SNRI. The double whammy of those two things left me nauseated and vomiting from November to March. I lost 25-30 pounds.

I just started ozempic 2 months ago. Just upped my dose to 1 mg this week. I’ve been pre-diabetic/insulin resistant since I was 16/17 and have struggled with my weight since then. I’ve tried metformin off and on over the last 20 years and never had success with it and it made me sick regardless of what I did. I’ve also eaten low carb on and off over the last 20 years but never was successful in keeping weight off regardless of how much I limited my carbs or for how long. I tipped over to diabetic with my A1C two years ago and just continued to struggle. I’ve lost about 15 pounds so far. Still have a bunch to lose. It has greatly impacted my blood sugar levels though my fasting levels are still higher than I’d like. It has affected my appetite. I’ve found getting plenty of protein really reduces any side effects. I aim for 80-100 g a day. I do notice lessening of the appetite suppressant and more cravings when it’s time for another dose. But overall, I’ve been happy so far.

DH is on Mounjaro with a discount from the manufacturer but is coming up on the end of the period when the discount will end. Without the discount it would cost us ***$1000 A MONTH*** which is definitely not in the budget. He said he’s going to be looking for alternatives if our insurance still won’t cover it (they wouldn’t last year). His primary side effect was the nasty, room clearing sulphuric burps and gas for the first couple days after taking a dose, especially while he was ramping up the dosage. Lately it hasn’t been too bad but like I said, he’s been on it almost a year. He’s lost about 15-20 lbs or so but thinks he needs to lose about 30-40 more.

I am seeing a lot of chatter in a FB group I am in for area moms --- people have found a way to order and mix their own, getting the supplies online through a 'research' place and a body building place. Apparently the stuff for the compounds is available without prescriptions?
And no, I will not be ordering any but a friend posted she was thinking of doing so and she has a job that does a serious background check and any legal issue she ran into ordering this online would cost her her job so I am curious if it is *really* legal to do so.
