trump has so many problems with the law it’s hard to keep track of them. It seems NY was suing trump for being less than honest with the value of his properties. Today it appears a judge ruled as shown below and in the link. If trump does have to dissolve his businesses in NY. That is kind of a big deal Andrew Feinberg…. “NEW: If I am reading this right, Judge Engoron has found that Donald Trump committed fraud and has ordered the cancellation of all of his New York business certificates and the dissolution of the Trump Organization.” x.com/andrewfeinberg/status/1706767627723681850?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Here is some more from AP…. link”NEW YORK (AP) — A judge ruled Tuesday that Donald Trump committed fraud for years while building the real estate empire that catapulted him to fame and the White House. Judge Arthur Engoron, ruling in a civil lawsuit brought by New York’s attorney general, found that the former president and his company deceived banks, insurers and others by massively overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making deals and securing financing. Engoron ordered that some of Trump’s business licenses be rescinded as punishment, making it difficult or impossible for them to do business in New York, and said he would continue to have an independent monitor oversee the Trump Organization’s operations.A Trump spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the ruling. Trump has long insisted he did nothing wrong. The decision, days before the start of a non-jury trial in Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit, is the strongest repudiation yet of Trump’s carefully coiffed image as a wealthy and shrewd real estate mogul turned political powerhouse. Beyond mere bragging about his riches, Trump, his company and key executives repeatedly lied about them on his annual financial statements, reaping rewards such as favorable loan terms and lower insurance premiums, Engoron found. Those tactics crossed a line and violated the law, the judge said, rejecting Trump’s contention that a disclaimer on the financial statements absolved him of any wrongdoing. In defendants’ world: rent regulated apartments are worth the same as unregulated apartments; restricted land is worth the same as unrestricted land; restrictions can evaporate into thin air; a disclaimer by one party casting responsibility on another party exonerates the other party’s lies,” Engoron wrote in his 35-page ruling. “That is a is a fantasy world, not the real world.” Manhattan prosecutors had looked into bringing a criminal case over the same conduct but declined to do so, leaving James to sue Trump and seek penalties that could disrupt his and his family’s ability to do business in the state. Engoron’s ruling, in a phase of the case known as summary judgment, resolves the key claim in James’ lawsuit, but six others remain.” x.com/therecount/status/1706774740155724285?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

www.nytimes.com/2023/09/26/nyregion/trump-james-fraud-trial.htmlThe New York attorney general won a major victory in her civil case against Donald J. Trump on Tuesday when a New York judge determined that the former president fraudulently inflated the value of his assets to obtain favorable loans and insurance deals.
The decision by Justice Arthur F. Engoron precedes a trial that is scheduled to begin Monday, and will considerably smooth Attorney General Letitia James’s path forward as she seeks a penalty of about $250 million.
Justice Engoron’s decision narrows the issues that will be heard, effectively deciding that the trial was not necessary to find that Mr. Trump was liable and that the core of Ms. James’s case was valid. It represents a major blow to Mr. Trump, whose lawyers had sought to persuade the judge to throw out many of the claims against the former president.
In his order, Justice Engoron wrote scathingly about Mr. Trump’s defenses, saying that the former president and the other defendants, including his two adult sons and his company, ignored reality when it suited their business needs. “In defendants’ world,” he wrote, “rent-regulated apartments are worth the same as unregulated apartments; restricted land is worth the same as unrestricted land; restrictions can evaporate into thin air.”
“That is a fantasy world, not the real world,” he added.
The judge also levied sanctions on Mr. Trump’s lawyers for making arguments that he previously rejected. He ordered each to pay $7,500, noting that he had previously warned them that the arguments in question bordered on being frivolous.
Repeating them was “indefensible,” Justice Engoron wrote.
Mr. Trump still has an opportunity to delay the trial, or even gut the case against him. Mr. Trump has already sued Justice Engoron, and an appeals court is expected to rule this week on his lawsuit. But if the appeals court rules against him, Mr. Trump will have to fight the remainder of the case at trial.

When will all the Trump supporters realize that he is just one big fraud? This should make at least a small dent in his house of cards.

This decision will crush the heart of Trump’s businesses, and he issued a long statement attacking it, using all the usual words: “witch hunt,” “Communist,” “Political Lawfare” (ok, I don’t get that one), and “If they can do this to me, they can do this to YOU!” Law professor Jen Taub commented, “It reads better in the original ketchup.” Trump’s lawyers say they are considering an appeal. The rest of the case is due to go to trial early next month.

He’s lucky there are others in jail for business fraud. But the maggots won’t believe it they’ll triple down for their golden idol and fork over their last dollar to this fascist asshole who wants to destroy our country more than he already has. I mean he’s come right out and said the quiet parts out loud - penalize the press, penalize the democrats in the senate etc. most of his “platform” that he’s running on is straight up fascism and they are still with him with their heads up their asses heading full speed into a fascist dictatorship

Benghazi! Hunter Biden’s laptop!!! (Ain’t nothing gonna shake their faith in his House of Cards) I totally agree. People that are still Trump supporters after all of this are a lost cause. They are brainwashed. There is no convincing them. Just like a cult, you just have to hope that they come out of it on their own. I refuse to engage in political conversations with them. Editing to add, if you have someone in your life that you love and they happen to be a Trump supporter, I'm sorry. I don't want to sound so harsh. But I really do see similarities to Trump supporters and cult behavior.

It is to the point where we no longer spend time in rural parts of Texas (Hill Country specifically), or frankly even the suburbs if we can help it, because of the Trumpism and the fact that everyone is armed. I feel safer in our urban areas than I do out there. Sorry not sorry. They're all cray.

Repeating them was “indefensible,” Justice Engoron wrote. To be clear, he has had restrictions ‘evaporate into thin air’ in the past. It might take time but he gets ‘his’ people to run for zoning boards, city councils, and attacks those who oppose him etc. He’s destroyed people who have opposed him. I wish all the shit he’s done to people thru his ‘fixers’ would be made public. I can not remember the NYC council member he publicly attacked google doesn’t help because it’s pages & pages of his crap since 2016. Maybe NY peas have better memories than I was it Ruth Messinger? I can see how he might think restrictions will eventually disappear. That’s what Cohen used to do, make things go Trumps way. As will this if he wins in 2024, it will disappear.

I will say my dad insists he's not MAGA even though in the past he had all the paraphenalia. Now he's about Desantis. He also calls Biden the Big Guy, whatever that means, and flips from saying he's got dementia in one sentence to calling him a criminal mastermind in the next. Dad is about the same age, so if I suggested he had dementia, that would not go over well.
Regardless, they live in a post truth world where they wholeheartedly attach themselves to whatever serves their confirmation bias. If they move on from Trump, they'll move on to the next fascist.
As for the Trump family, I love this journey for them. Also, no one with scruples will competently represent him in court any longer, so he's left with less than adequate lawyers that he runs through like he did his SA victims.
