No spoilers from Reality Steve, etc. You can talk about the episode after it airs. West Coast Peas beware!!
Have fun!

We watched the first half and will finish up tonight. I love that there are no more chartered flights and they have to make their reservations for flights! Loved seeing Derek and Claire!!

I thought that it was a bit boring.
The Amazing Race Canada was much more interesting and did some really cool stuff, all in Canada and it really showed off Canadian culture.

My favorite show is back!! I'm cheering for the Dad/Son (red shirts), the brothers from the military, and the two men from Idaho. The mother/daughter annoy me. The brother/sister that were last annoyed me. The high school sweethearts guy annoyed me, but I liked the girl. I have no opinion yet on the rest. I look forward to seeing where they go this season!

The teams look really nice. I’m glad they’ve moved away from trying to create drama between the teams…so far anyway! 😄
I think this is my favourite TV show just because I love seeing and learning about all the locations.

I can’t believe those girls ate all those bugs!
I like that it’s sort of back to its original format. So far, I like all the teams. I thought it was nice how they rooted for each other. That one guy that helped all the other teams with the word scramble actually played a smart move, he could need one of them to help him further down the road.
That Buddha statue was huge!! How in the world did they build that?

Love The Amazing Race and I'm so happy it's back! Loved seeing Derek and Claire!! I might could have choked the bugs down but a tarantula? No way!! It's so much better when they are making their own flights. I don't know anyone's names yet but I like all the teams. So far no one has annoyed me too much. I really like the Asian couple. He's funny. Cracked us up when he said to the massage girl, "It's not supposed to bend like that."

Finally watched it tonight. The back story of the woman who lost her husband to leukemia and then had a brain tumor herself made me tear up. It hit a little bit too close to home for me (except I had the breast cancer first and then a year later lost my dh to ALS). Don't expect me to go on TAR though! LOL

I'm so happy it's back on and that we are finally back to airport drama and no more chartered flights! Yippee!
So far it's too soon for me to pick favorite teams, but I really like the deaf father and his son, and the brothers in the military plus the Asian couple that came in first place.
The mother and daughter that won the Express Pass look so much alike! Would I have eaten the bugs for the Express Pass? Well they were fried so I think I would have certainly tried, yup, even that tarantula. A least they weren't still alive! I know I couldn't have done the Thai Massages-I'm very sensitive to touch and that would have been much too painful for me. I would have done the sword dance instead.
This looks like it's going to be a great season and I'm very happy it's 90 minutes long for each episode.

I thought this was such a great first episode. I liked getting to know a little bit about all of the teams. I like them all but Rob & Corey, Melania & Andrea and Robbin & Chelsea are my favorites (at the moment...ha!). I can not believe Lena & Morgan ate the bugs but good for them and their "we'll do what it takes" attitude. Looking forward to airport and U-turn drama.

Loved seeing Claire and Derek.. i follow them on IG and i just really like them...
Im not sure I could eat the bugs... it would have taken me way more time.. lol...
It will be interesting to see the father/son team... im excited for them...
And i was not sad to see the brother/sister team go home... i will be shocked if the last place mom/daughter team can come from behind... they have travel issues that will only get worse...

So happy to have the show back. It's nice to be back to the regular format. I was shocked at how quickly the sisters managed to get through the bug platters! That was amazing to me. On the flip side, I was shocked to see that it took so many people over 90 minutes to unscramble the city in the very beginning. I don't have any favorites yet, nor is there anyone who annoys me, but DH said he wasn't sad to see the siblings go, so apparently they did something to bug him a bit.

I sooo badly want to love this show!!! I want to watch challenges and teams struggle... and the drama between people who love each other... and the excitement when they complete something truely out of their comfort zone.... BUT!!!! crawling under an elephant statue 3 times? What the hell is that? A little better but not really a challenge but filling ur boat with huge fruit.. they are just floating around... you grab a bunch and put them in some buckets... I just can not get behind these challenges... really really disappointing!!! PHIL IF YOU READ THIS... GET IT BACK ON TRACK!!!!

I just can not get behind these challenges... really really disappointing!!! PHIL IF YOU READ THIS... GET IT BACK ON TRACK!!!! I agree. The challenges on the recent Canadian Amazing Race were real challenges. Find a golf ball in a huge field with your name on it; try to sniff wine and determine what the notes of the wine is WITHOUT tasting the wine; going to a GM plant and helping to build a car; and much more. There were also challenges against the other teams, and if you lost, you had to wait for the next team to arrive to compete. This show is lame.

some of the challenges were tough.. that picking flowers and making arrangements was very tough for many. and the grocery thing was challenging enough.. and even easy challenges like the pomelos --how about the team that sank their boat?
I liked the travel in asia..

Just finished this week... its an long leg.. they got a clue from phil to keep racing..
The married couple who were 1st for 2 legs really struggled this week... the wife jocelyn has very little patience... lol she is going to meltdown...
I felt bad for the sisters who used their express pass and didnt get a top finish... i like them and hope they can regroup and get it together...
Wasnt impressed by the main challenge of unload some fruit... but really liked the road blocks.... making rice paper... it was fun to watch!!! And wrapping vinyl... that is not easy.. lets see what next week brings!!

With the extended episodes, I wish they added another challenge or something to each leg. It was fun seeing them hustle for flights again. That really sucked that the sisters ended up in the spot after using their express pass. My favorite team is Rob & Corey with Malania and Andrea as a close second. But overall I am enjoying all the racers except maybe Anna-Leigh but good for her for finding that 5:45am card in the wrong box. ha! I probably would have been the same way as Jocelyn at the rice paper challenge - knowing how to do it before I even tried and DH would say the same thing to me "it's not as easy as it looks" once I got a turn.

I also LOVE Rob and Corey and the bearded brothers and like the fact that they have to scramble for flights again.
I am really enjoying this season.
