gone overboard. Every year I promise I'm going to scale back, but then the Christmas spirit grabs me.

Oops. You know what the problem is? Your tree is too small. That pile of presents would be positively itty bitty with a bigger tree. You're welcome.

I feel your "pain". I heart Christmas, too. I've tried getting shopping done early. That just gives me more time to find more that is just "perfect" for someone. Last minute shopping puts me in "gotta get it done" mode and I shop. And get it done. And done again. and once more for good measure. This year I've actually done better reigning it in- I think. Maybe I'll follow up later with the "look what I found in my closet that I forgot I bought" thread. kerri W Good point! Need bigger tree!

I feel your joyous pain. I put my foot down this year and said only ONE nice gift plus what ever they get in their stocking. SIGH.......................................... It's awful. Jen

There isn't room for a bigger tree. This one is a 6.5 footer. Any taller and it would stick too far out into the room.

My son has about 15 gifts for Jackie, in addition to all the ones I bought, that aren't under the tree yet. And my family is coming in for the wedding and none of their gifts are under the tree yet either. We may be having Christmas Eve dinner on the front lawn.

... done more than I should.
Today I finished making a twin-sized fitted sheet and pillowcase for dgc. WHY? Because in this area, the only hockey teams that you can buy cool stuff for is either Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens or Buffalo Sabres.
So this grandma orders the Chicago BlackHawks fabric from Joann (on sale & on line only) and makes these items for her dear dgc. I have enough fabric left for pj's. Guess I will ask my friend if I can borrow the pattern from her.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Thanks, every year I wrap the pictures hanging on the walls. This year I wasn't going to do it because I'm trying to keep it simple since my wedding is on the 27th. But when my sister heard, she called me saying "what do you mean you're not wrapping the pictures? That's my favorite part". So, it's done.

Omgoodness!! Are those ALLLLL for sweet Jackie?? Are they for the 8 nights of Hanukkah and Christmas? She's at the perfect age this year, I hope you have a wonderful holiday and congrats on your upcoming wedding. (How's your stress?? at least your shopping and wrapping are all done!)

I am blessed with a man who handled much of the wedding prep. He dealt with the rabbi and caretakers at the synagogue, secured the dj and worked out the songs, after our initial meeting with the caterers, he dealt with them and he purchased all the alcohol and mixers. I handled the candy buffet and centerpieces. He's a definite keeper.
Christmas is my "thing". I love the season of peace on earth, good will to me and say many grateful prayers for on-line shopping

I was going to say that it looks about right if they're not all for one person. My pile is similiar, but for three girls.

Christmas is the one time of year that it's ok to go overboard. I like how your presents match the tree. We can't leave our presents out like that because my two year old nephew would open and or stomp on every ones presents long before Christmas, they wouldn't stand a chance with the tiny one man wrecking crew around.

It looks beautiful! I like the wrapped present on the wall. I did scale it back this yr since the kids just want video games and gift cards, and not big toys to wrap ...unfortunatley this is the year dh wanted a REAL tree. So we got a permit to cut one from the National Forest. It is HUGE!! almost 15' tall, not enough decorations really to do it justice. Now this MONSTER tree is too big for my scaled down gifts!

For someone who isn't Christian you do a fine Christmas! Santa would be most impressed! But you have one grandchild(same as my parents and exDH's parents) and there is no law that says you can't make your grand child's Christmas/Hanukkah magical, right? She will be young only for so long so please enjoy while you can!
