Does anyone else love the sappy Hallmark, Lifetime etc holiday movies? Wondering what people are thinking of them this year snd what your favorites are this year. There have been some really good ones and a few snoozers.

Lots of love for them on the General Scrap board! I’ve only seen a few and that was years ago, I just remember them being light and silly.

There have been some really good ones and a few snoozers. We are discussing them on the DD thread here: HM + Liftetime Holiday Movies. I'd be totally down for a thread here to be devoted to them though if you don't have any interest in DD stuff.

I will go check the thread! The past few years we have gotten into the ridiculousness of it all and enjoyed them.
However, our absolute favorite holiday movie is Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds.

I haven't watched Christmas films for decades, but yesterday I had a pile of ironing to do and I watched 2 in a row. Sappy, sickly-sweet and feel-good. I loved them!

I love them for some light feel good movies. I can't remember the names of them but I've seen several new ones that I like.

I usually watch one in the afternoon when I am doing hand work on crafts or sewing repairs. It’s fun and relaxing and gives me brain rest if you know what I mean!

No. I can never follow the plot. I get so confused. Is the prince really Santa? 🤣

I haven’t watched as many this year as I usually do, but I did catch “A Biltmore Christmas” and really liked it.

I've been watching so many holiday movies this year. LOL I think I watched 6 on Saturday. They are all cheesy, but I love them anyway. I really enjoyed Norwegian Christmas, Christmas in Notting Hill and gosh, I can't even think of the names of all of them. I also am watching a short series on Netflix (Or maybe Amazon, I can't remember) called Happy Merry Whatever. It's a comedy, and Dennis Quaid stars in it. It's fun and cute.

I’m enjoying the ones set in other countries but really loved My Norwegian Holiday. The Santa Summit was cute and I loved the Biltmore one. Christmas Island was another I enjoyed. On Lifetime I really liked Christmas at the Chalet but I love Teri Hatcher. She was in another this year on the Roku channel too. GAC has had a few descent ones as well this year I enjoyed ‘Twas the Text before Christmas, a Paris Christmas Waltz, Christmas Keepsake and Christmas Blessing. Christmas through the ages wasn’t bad either. I know some don’t like the channel but I watch most movies if possible and have only dumped a few before finishing.
I know there were a few on Lifetime that were good but they don’t have a checklist app so they get forgotten.
There are some that are just a one and done but it seems there are more good ones this year. The plots a bit more varied to which is nice. It kind of seems there is almost something fore everyone.

I watch all of the Hallmark and Great American Family movies, or I at least start watching all of them. There are always a few that I just can't get into so I don't finish watching them. I don't really care for the ones that have a "Prince" involved.

I saw that, but it's a 60 page thread with so much more than a discussion of movies. LOL I tried to find all the posts about movies. Don't you think it's okay to have a discussion only about movies? I don't have the patience these days to poke through long threads. LOL

I don't really care for the ones that have a "Prince" involved. Same! There was one with a knight a couple of years ago (like legit a time traveling Medieval knight). It was a bit much for even me.

I really enjoy Prancer! Kids like it too. I don't know if it's on anywhere. It was a VHS tape I had years ago.

My favorite cheesy Hallmark is The Christmas Card. It's been out forever... you can find it streaming on Amazon for free if you subscribe.

I’m hoping to start a conversation here with just the movies . Reading that thread did make me want to scrap though which is a good thing.

I think it was called a royal holiday from the year before last maybe. It was really funny and cute.

We do! In fact this Saturday is our annual Hallmark Christmas movie party. We have a sugar cookie decorating station, a hot cocoa bar (and regular bar lol) and then watch the new movie that night and play Hallmark Christmas movie bingo. It’s a hoot! We’re up to about 20 gals.

I just rewatched "A Clusterfunke Christmas" on Peacock in preparation for the season. Does that count? Now I want some strudel.

My friends and co workers are shocked to find out that I love the Hallmark movies. I'm so ridiculous about them that I keep track of the ones I have watched using the Hallmark app.

Related but not related to Hallmark movies.. I was at my local thrift store and found the cutest flannel Christmas jammies... the words "Hallmark watching jammies" (or similar) written all over them. The tag was Hallmark, so they are official.. haha. And they were 1/2 off.. only 3.50!

I have been watching lots of Hallmark movies this season (any trying to clear up the 72 I have PVR'd from 2021/2022!).
I did not like the Biltmore one. I was really hoping to.
I did enjoy Checkin It Twice and Never Been Chris'd. I have hopes for many of the new ones I have PVRd.

I also keep track in the app for Hallmark and GAC there have been a few I just couldn’t finish on GAC, Lifetime, OWN and Up. It’s gotten to the point of there just being too many. I have seen really good on all the different stations but I have more that I am not finishing this year than in years past. I’m just not feeling it and would rather watch an old favorite or classic sometimes. That and even if it’s just on in the background there are too many at this point. I DVR them and then decide after starting if I will continue. I have watched all the Hallmark ones and think they have more good ones than in years past I don’t love them all but I enjoy most. The other channels seem to be more hit or miss.
