None of it? 🤣
I do enjoy making the list of stuff to get at Costco, and I got an odd level of satisfaction updating my YNAB accounts and checking on my 401K balance (at least I do when the market is booming!).

I enjoy managing the family finances, together w/ my husband. I love paying bills, making investment decisions, managing our insurance and even planning our estate. It gives me a sense of power and security that many females in previous generations of my family didn't have. Me too! LOVE IT! I really wish I had the "love doing the laundry" gene. It's needing done right now & I'm avoiding it. Mary K

Enjoy wouldn't be the word I would use, to describe any household chores or responsibilities. I don't mind... Washing dishes Doing laundry Grocery shopping Errands Decluttering Organizing Cleaning the kitchen or bathroom Paying bills...budgeting, reconciling finances Sweeping and mopping Making appointments Not a fan of >> washing the car or vacuuming the car. Not a fan of >> yardwork (mowing, pulling weeds, etc...). My least favorite household chore is >> dusting. Hate it!

Folding laundry---I use it as an excuse to sit down & watch TV, LOL! It's often the only time I watch TV on my own.

Laundry! Love sorting, washing, drying, folding, putting it away. Love it all. Very Zen to me. I think it takes me back to my teenage years when Mom would let me "waste" my Saturday afternoon watching American Bandstand IF I would fold the laundry (and race around during commercials to put it away!).

I like hand washing dishes. I think it's because we didn't have a dishwasher growing up. I remember always putting on an apron to wash dishes so my shirt wouldn't get wet. I miss that ratty apron.
I also really like hanging stuff outside on a makeshift line on the side of the deck. DH thinks my "hobo line" is weird but I love it. I mostly hang dishtowels and cleaning rags when I don't have enough to do a washing machine load.

None of them, really. Especially now that I am perimenopausal/constantly fatigued, have breathing issues, and have arthritis-that's-not-bad-enough-yet-to-be-officially-diagnosed-as-arthritis.
I like coming up with ideas and planning out said ideas but I am not good at execution or consistent follow-up. Thank God my husband is. We always say I am the heart & he is the head/hands.

katybee said: I eat mostly girl dinners (ooh—you probably hate that phrase, as well). Not judging you. I have no idea what this means. Could you explain? Girl Dinner: a low-effort meal you make when you're alone—and there's no one there to judge your eating habits. Examples for me might include: a big bowl of Special K followed by a handful of almonds and a Reeces PB cup 2 slices of havarti cheese, 6 olives, and a slice of leftover pizza sourdough bread dipped in fancy olive oil/balsamic vinegar and carrots dipped in tzatziki Frozen waffles smothered in peanut butter with apples No real cooking. No real cleanup. I love "girl" dinner. My favorite is the little loaf of brown bread from the Outback steak house. I stop by their takeout area and buy several loaves at a time. I freeze them. Remove from freezer. Microwave 15 seconds. Slice, then butter the slices. Microwave 20 seconds. Dinner, lunch, breakfast or a snack.

I enjoy calling people to do my chores. I have people. I do have to take my car to the car wash and wait for them to clean it. I also have to drive to the laundry to have my shirts washed and pressed.
I do my own laundry (except shirts), make my own meals, change my bedding, take out the garbage and grocery shop. I am exhausted just thinking about it. I need a nap.

I like hanging laundry on the outside line. I know this particular thing horrifies many Peas but it’s the norm in Australia most of the year. I’ve done about 8 loads in the last few days and they dried in about an hour each. No there’s no dust, pollen, bird droppings or any other extras LOL, just lovely clean, line dried clothes, towels, sheets

It’s very satisfying to be able to dry washing outside isn’t it AllieC 😄 although I’m sure I can’t do it as often as you! I don’t mind grocery shopping or ironing but chores generally? Ugh - so boring!!

Ironing - I iron most things that get washed. I don't do sheets or towels (these usually go in the dryer to be fluffed up).
I wear a lot of clothes that are usually cotton blend and so to look nice they need ironing. I iron jeans and all DH's shirts. We use cloth napkins when we eat so they need ironing. There are somethings that I just haven't changed over the years and I figure at my age there will not be any great changes in the foreseeable future.

I like the sort and wash part of the laundry. I just need someone else to tag in and do the folding and putting away.
I love to do paperwork and taking care of the family finances. Figuring out budgets, getting everything prepared for our small business taxes, etc. I should have pursued a career as a forensic accountant.

These are two old-school type chores I really actually enjoy but I've done both in the past two days, so I thought I'd add them:
- Ironing but especially table linens. They look so crisp and perfect when they are done. I ironed all the napkins we used for special meals over Christmas yesterday and the finished piles were so satisfying to me.
- Polishing silver. Again, very satisfying to see the change from before to after. I polished some pieces earlier today and then I just stood there grinning at the beautiful gleam.

Cooking. I love the act of putting a meal together and watching others enjoy it. During the week I’m tired from work, but it still love to cook. I do bigger meals on the weekend.

I enjoy doing laundry and grocery shopping but only when stores aren’t busy. I also like doing errands again if not busy and not a lot of traffic.
My least favorite is ironing and coming up with dinner plans.
I use the word adulting and peopling. I can only deal with people for so long before I just need to retreat.

Cutting the grass, and yardwork/gardening in general.
It can be a lot of hard labor, but it is very satisfying.

Glad to see I am in good company with the shopping adulting chore.
I enjoy managing the family finances, together w/ my husband. I love paying bills, making investment decisions, managing our insurance and even planning our estate. It gives me a sense of power and security that many females in previous generations of my family didn't have.
I've always handled the bills in our house and the finances. I however avoided it other than what was necessary. This past year, I started with some savings challenges. I've watched a lot of content creators and I actually feel more able to look at what we have coming in and out. I have some financial goals for this coming year. And I am excited to feel like I actually might get some control here.

Any you want to share??? I watch a lot of youtube Sure.
I don't remember how I came across these to initially get started. But if you search on youtube savings challenges or cash stuffing, you'll get a ton of channels. The ones I've gravitate to are:
A lot of these and those in the cash stuffing community use a budget planner. I never liked what I was seeing. I wanted it to be a specific way. I watched one of The Aesthetic Dollar's older videos this weekend and she uses The Budget Mom's planner. I like how that one is set up and think I will be ordering the PDF this week.
One popular savings challenge is the 100 Envelope challenge. I started that early in 2023 and didn't finish it. Got off track when mom had her stroke. Then started it again and doing pretty good. I need to complete it by June and start it again to finish by the end of the year.
My other challenge I want to start this month is getting one month ahead on all of our bills. It'll take a few months to do but I have looked and it is totally doable and will make a huge difference once I get us there.

sweetpeasmom ~~ Adulting is not an actual word. I suppose it would be considered a verb but what really is ADULTING? Does it mean that you are doing things that an adult (human over 18 years of age) is expected to do in order to have order in society? Proper question would be ~ "What chore as an adult do you actually enjoy doing?" This word *Adulting* really gets me stabby. In life, if you want to eat, you either grow your food or go to the grocery store or go to a restaurant. Unless you are a slob, you clean up after yourself. Really no choice. So please stop with this non-word/verb ~ ADULTING. As a child (under 18, actually under 10 years of age) I did many chores that would be considered to be chores that adults did. This didn't change once I reached 18 years of age. I learned as I grew up how to cook food, grow food, clean up after myself, provide a safe environment to live in, to be respectful of others in my home and general life and how to budget my money. Then I learned how to drive, read maps and plan trips. I learned how to look after a vehicle and to schedule regular car service to take care of this asset. All part of being a contributing member of society to make the world a better place. So lostinspace deleted this post (even though it had been quoted), changed her username to quiltz and changed her avatar. WTF?

I don't enjoy any chores which is why I outsource as much as I can. I would rather pull out my fingernails than go grocery shopping, so I'm lucky I married a man who does enjoy it!

pinklady gar ~~ What in my life affects your life? I didn't receive much, if any support when I had major health issues and serious surgery. I live with a lot of physical pain, which I have explained in some threads, mainly the dinner thread. Does anyone comment on that? No, no comments on that. Only comments on when I say something outrageous. Yes, I was having a really bad day, a few horrific days. This is a message board. Do you have so much time on your hands that you stalk a message board and point out every failing of everyone? A new year, a fresh start. I don't need to explain myself to you as you literally have no knowledge of my real, truthful life. Apologise for being human? I am human after all.
