I enjoy grocery shopping. I like seeing what's on sale and how much I can save. I use several rebate apps as well. I would coupon when paper coupons were a thing. I loved watching the total go down. I still do it but now it's in the store apps with digital coupons. So it still does it at the end.
My mom enjoyed doing laundry. I did not get that gene.

Decluttering, organizing, planning. Used to also include cleaning but physical issues have put a stop to that.

I too enjoy grocery shopping. I look at the 2 stores ads, get on one stores app for more savings, meal plan, make a list, and go.
I also enjoy meal prep.
My least favorite is cleaning the tub. The cleaning supplies irritate my skin and with my Dysautonomia and POTS I always end up getting tachy.

Cutting the grass. It’s the only chore that stays ‘done’ for 48 hours!

I dont know what an "adulting" chore is (that word can go away anytime now), but a chore that I like is organizing. I wish I had more time to do it. As it stands, Im way off track on that.

Grocery shopping has always been one of my favorite chores. I also enjoy ironing clothes. sweetpeasmom ~~ Adulting is not an actual word. I suppose it would be considered a verb but what really is ADULTING? Does it mean that you are doing things that an adult (human over 18 years of age) is expected to do in order to have order in society? Proper question would be ~ "What chore as an adult do you actually enjoy doing?" This word *Adulting* really gets me stabby. In life, if you want to eat, you either grow your food or go to the grocery store or go to a restaurant. Unless you are a slob, you clean up after yourself. Really no choice. So please stop with this non-word/verb ~ ADULTING. Was that hand slap really and truly necessary? If the phrase Adulting bothers you that much you have the option to skip the thread, or even hide it.

Another one I enjoy is handwashing dishes. I think because I have fond memories of helping my grandma (I was the one who got to towel dry them) and the conversations we would have. I also help my mom.
Dh and I do it or ds and I. I still like to dry and we will talk and have fun.

So please stop with this non-word/verb ~ ADULTING. As a child (under 18, actually under 10 years of age) I did many chores that would be considered to be chores that adults did. This didn't change once I reached 18 years of age. I learned as I grew up how to cook food, grow food, clean up after myself, provide a safe environment to live in, to be respectful of others in my home and general life and how to budget my money. Then I learned how to drive, read maps and plan trips. I learned how to look after a vehicle and to schedule regular car service to take care of this asset. All part of being a contributing member of society to make the world a better place. In life, as an adult, one would know that it isn't that cut and dry. There are a multitude of reasons one wouldn't cook, clean, grocery shop, etc. We have peas here on this thread and board who deal with a wide range of disabilities (mental, physical, medical) that can not do the above. Your holier than thou, I'm perfect attitude comes off very ick on this thread. But honestly, would it be any other way?

I enjoy managing the family finances, together w/ my husband.
I love paying bills, making investment decisions, managing our insurance and even planning our estate.
It gives me a sense of power and security that many females in previous generations of my family didn't have.

I really like to hand wash dishes. I only use my dishwasher about half the time. There's something very Zen to me about the warm soapy water. (However that doesn't apply to my having to take a shower.😂)
I have a very hard time going to grocery superstores. I choose a small, non busy grocery when I have to shop. I have grocery store anxiety. I know that probably sounds ridiculous. I used to order my groceries until COVID hit and I was only getting half my order. Jeremy started shopping. He doesn't seem to mind.

I "like" just about everything except cleaning bathrooms. Keeping a clean and tidy home is very satisfying to me.
I really enjoy - laundry (especially folding or hanging the warm clean dry clothes) - cooking (late afternoon in my kitchen with tunes playing and a glass of wine completes the experience) - grocery shopping (probably a corollary of loving to cook) - organizing anything and everything! - purging/donating stuff really gives me joy - using the push mower because it's so satisfying to see the before and after

Handwashing dishes, which is good because our dishwasher is broken more often than it actually works. I put on an audiobook and wash away. Unfortunately, with a family of six, we use a lot of dishes, and I can't keep up, so I enlist my kids to help, and they HATE it...
The thing I refuse to do is fold laundry, and would happily wear clothes straight out of the laundry basket, but DH does it (and then puts the wrong clothes in the wrong person's stack, so clothes are always missing, endless drama around here) so I don't have to.
I like the word adulting... who knew it was so controversial.

I too enjoy grocery shopping and never really embraced the whole grocery pickup thing (I’ve done it a few times but prefer to just shop myself). Now I hate having to plan what to buy/cook/eat everyday for the rest of my life….thats exhausting.
I also had no idea adulting was such a controversial word…I kinda like it and feel the need to use it more 😆

Walking the dog is my #1. Weeding Ironing Food shopping Food prep I enjoy the end result of decluttering, but the actual process is so anxiety provoking for me due to ADD. This is going to be my 2024 challenge--confronting my anxiety.

I really like “starting” chores- like I enjoy loading the dishwasher and sorting clothes and starting a load of laundry. I also like vacuuming and organizing things. Unpacking boxes from moving is like one of my top favorite things and I wished I could move more just to do it! I could pass on all bathroom related tasks.

Meal planning and cooking most of the time. Sometimes I'm just not feeling it.
Pretty much hate the rest of it, but it's got to get done somehow.

I like to grocery shop if I can do it once per week. I go in with a list of "odd" items (ones I don't usually run out of), but mostly I choose my groceries by walking up and down the aisles looking for items on sale and those that catch my eye. My weekly menu plan often comes from what is available at the produce and meat counters. Sometimes I will double back if I see something like pork spareribs on sale and I have to grab some peppers and pineapple. Any more than once a week, it becomes an annoying chore (and usually a case of zigzagging through the store looking for specific items that may or may not be there).
I also enjoy cooking if I have the time and the ingredients I need. Over the years I have developed easy ways to prepare and cook our usual fare, and "usual" menus, so once I have chosen a protein or side, the other dishes are kinda standard. I used to experiment more, trying new recipes, but now prefer to stay with the tried and true.

I LOVE laundry.
I love sorting into loads, then taking care of the loads one by one until the job is done. It’s like a calming metaphor for how to tackle life.
I love buying laundry accessories like cute laundry bags and baskets. I absolutely baby our laundry - I sort by color, use delicates bags, use special detergent for each load, hang to dry. I am super picky about what I will wash together. I am super picky about what goes in the dryer and what doesn’t. I am super picky about machine settings and water temp and water level.
No one has ever had an item wear out (no pilling, no fading, no cracks on screen prints, no peeling vinyl, no tiny holes) before they outgrew it.
I love the sound of my washing machine running. I love the sound of the dryer. I love my laundry room.

Easier to tell you what I hate doing…bathrooms, scrubbing the floor, vacuuming the stairs.
I refuse to mow the grass or wash the cars, because I don’t do it right. It’s all yours DH!
We all enjoy doing different aspects of home care, which works splendidly. Except dusting, nobody in this house likes dusting. I think I am the only one who notices the dust.
I’m one of those people with health issues that severely limits what I can do. I was done with today before I got out of bed.
