We have like 8 Yetis. Some we bought; some were vendor giveaways that DH brought home from work. I don’t feel a need to jump on the Stanley bandwagon when the Yetis are still in great condition.

I'm not usually a trend follower, but I ended up getting a 30oz with handle for my oldest and then liking hers so much that I bought a 30oz without a handle for me.
For me, the thing that pushed it beyond the cheaper water bottles I usually used was it keeps my drink cold forever (I'll put ice in at 7pm and it's still there at 7am) and it can go in the dishwasher (so many bottles have to be handwashed and I can always taste the soap afterward no matter how many times I rinse it plus many metal water bottles have a tinny taste). I paid $30 each for both bottles so not really more expensive (actually I looked and Hydro Flasks cost more than that).

The are nice mugs. They have always been a quality product. I have a thermos from them that has to be 40+ years old. They are just trendy now. They are retail price comparable to the other insulated mugs. It is the secondary market that drives the price up.
The Target release was insane. There are videos all over tiktok of fights, falls, attempted theft. I don't even know what was special about them. That part is just silly.

I saw a TT on trends and Christmas hauls, and Stanleys were mentioned. I believe it said that when tweens and the trends hit the midwest with women my age (LOL), that means the next trend is on the way. The new "trendy" drinking thing will be an Owala brand (sp) bottle. This is a prediction. Another one is the mini platform uggs - they are already on the way out (due to the same reason of where they are being worn) and tall uggs are next. I’ve had an Owala Free-sip 30 oz for a few years. I use it as my work water bottle because the top completely closes, but I can open it with one hand. The ice will stay frozen for a couple of days. The only bad thing about it is that it doesn’t fit in my cupholder in the car. I bought a 24 oz. It fits in my cupholder, but it doesn’t hold enough.

It actually stays colder longer than my Yeti's. I think it's because of the lid on the Ice Flow. Not sure the other Stanley's would keep it as cold as this one.

It's the current hot thing. I know people who replace their cups every time the next popular cup comes out. Remember when Hydroflask and Yetis were all the rage? Before that I think it was Swell?
Buy a cup that you like and keep using it. Please don't constantly buy new cups. They just end up in a landfill like everything else. If your cup is old and damaged, get a new one. But don't constantly buy the latest thing just because every influencer tells you to.
I have a Takeya brand water bottle. I can go to sleep and wake up with still ice cold water inside. And it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

I bought into the hype and got one. I like it but it’s nothing earth-shattering. I think there are other brands that can do the same thing for less money.

Well I love my 40oz Stanley for the large size, the attached handle, keeps my water cold all day, outside doesn't "sweat" and because it fits my sectional sofa and car cup holders. Also, I'm glad OP updated about the price. Sheesh they aren't that expensive. I love mine also! I love Yeti, but do not like their pieces with handles. The Stanley handle is very comfortable.
Did anyone get the limited edition today at Target? Our news said the local store sold out in 4 minutes.

The water bottle I’m too cheap to try is the AirUp. It flavors either still or sparkling water with just scent and I’m intrigued, but not intrigued enough to spend $50+ for a water bottle. us.air-up.com/

I bought a Stanley dupe for a photo prop. I make the name plate toppers. At first I bought a 40oz which was just too big so I returned for a 30oz. I do like it, it was only $13 on Cyber Monday, and I still have ice the next morning too. The name plates are very popular. My daughter even bought the same dupe as me just so she could have a name plate. I'll try and add a pic.

Someone just posted an article on how Stanley only used to market to men, saw an uptick in the number of women who were interested in the cup and instead of brushing it off and being content with sales as they were they embraced the opportunity to serve a new market. Started creating cups in a more pastel palette, partnered with "influencers" and companies like Starbucks and are basically riding the wave all the way to the bank. They've increased their sales by the billion all while still making the same quality product they always have.

We are not the type to buy another of something if we still have one that works fine. So bearing that in mind, DH is carrying around a Klean Kanteen from about 2004 or 2005. The kids & I each have a Simple Modern stainless bottle in various sizes. Mine is only 17oz, but I love it because it's tall & slim, and it's comfortable to hold due to that. I actually prefer not to have a handle on my bottle, which is why I like them to fit well in my hand. Mine isn't made any more, but I like it so much I did find myself a back-up bottle to buy because after using mine every single day, the drip-proof seal broke. Now, as long as I keep the bottle upright, that's not an issue, so I'm still using my old bottle, but if it ever starts to be bothersome, I know I have my back-up. But long story short, because of our tendency to use an item we're happy with until it simply can no longer be used, we have bottles that predate the Yeti or Hydro Flask or Stanley popularity bursts, and so we've never had a reason to try any of them.

I don't care what brand I have.. as long as it keeps my water/ice cold all day long I am good. I have one Yeti because it was super cheap somewhere.. maybe Amazon. While I love it and the color my off brand, whatever it is, does pretty much the exact same thing.. I do like ones that fit in my cup holder. That is probably the #1 priority plus the ease of carrying it... that is what I look for.

FYI—if you have a cup that doesn’t fit in the holder there is a cheap adapter on Amazon that works well. I use that for my owala’s. I bought two different Stanley knock offs and they are ok. I like them for baseball because they fit in the cup holder of my chair. But they are really tall and sometimes a little awkward. I have to admit that I am tempted at times to get a Stanley because I like the colors.

I have never tried one. I have Yeti I use at work and a literal no name one that my dh was given by a supplier. I use the no name one in the car and at home. It sits in my car in the parking ramp at work all day in 90 degree summer days and the ice doesn't melt. My Yeti sometimes doesn't make it all day in the office without most of the ice melting. In any case I'm not about to buy a Stanley to see how it works.

I have 2 knock-off Stanleys. I found one at TJMaxx and I can't remember where I got the other one. Anywhoo, before that I have had Ozark Trail "Yetis" from Walmart. In my experience, they all work great. Not having any of the name brands, I haven't done a side by side comparison but ice stays in all the aforementioned cups/tumblers for a good 18-24 hours. Expect my ice nuggets from the nugget machine. Those don't do as well. My ice maker cubes stay forever. I also have 2 Hydroflasks, a 30 and a 40 oz. It bothered me that they wouldn't fit in the car cupholder. I found a clippie thing that goes on your car headrest and I just clipped it on the passenger seat. I can hang the Hydroflask on that. I also got the lid that has the sippie straw. I just like using a straw better.
And today as I use my 32 oz tumbler with no handle and my poor arthritic hands are having to grab onto that cup, I realize I do like my "Stanleys" for the handle that is on them. It is so much easier to grab and drink. So I will stick with those. And the larger sizes just make it easier to get my water intake.

They are so ugly and annoying….i have 4 that I LOVE and carry with me everywhere. Everyone’s MS is different and mine is triggered by temperature/ humidity. If I get too hot it’s nearly impossible to cool down and it doesn’t necessarily have to be hot outside. The only thing that gives fast relief is an icy drink. Preferably water but I’ve certainly been places where the only icy option is a fountain soda.
Which is where my Stanley obsession comes in. I’m never far from one of mine. They keep ice water cold for days, so I always have one with me somewhere in the house and keep it full. Since I like iced coffee during the summer I have one that I can put flavored drinks into and keep at work.
I have Yeti mugs and Hydroflasks too. The Stanley difference is the handle, which I can carry with one hand while walking with my cane in the other.
This is a discussion I had to have with McD when he gave me the side eye about my mugs. LOL. There’s world full of influencers who have all the colors just to be on TikTok. 🙄 I can’t say with a straight face that I need a Stanley but they’ve made a huge difference in my life when it comes to staying cool.

They no longer look like that. Mine actually look like my Yeti's but stay colder longer than my Yeti's, and the lid is THE best (only on the Ice Flow IMO).

One question for Stanley people, do you throw yours in the dishwasher?
When I bought my Hydroflask a few years ago, they did not recommend the dishwasher. They said to hand wash. I’ve seen newer HydroFlasks and I guess you can put them in the dishwasher now, although they still recommend hand washing. I would love to throw mine in the dishwasher.
